Last Updated: September 17, 2018 Welcome to the Empire Auctions forum. In the auctions forum, you may auction off items from in-game. However, in order to keep this forum operating well, there are a quite a few rules we need you to make sure you follow when using the auction forums. Disobeying or ignoring any of these auction rules may result in punishments such as being blacklisted from the Marketplace and/or possibly receiving in-game punishment. Not reading the rules is not an excuse for not following them. If you see that anyone is not following the auction rules, please report the post with an explanation of why you reported it and a staff member will be able to assist. Special Guidelines have been laid out for many items in order to facilitate smooth operation of the auction forums. If you are unsure about a certain item that is not on this list, please consult with a Community Manager or stick with the default of one double chest worth of items in any auction. Auctionable Item Guidelines Auctionable Items All auctioned items must be listed fully and clearly in any auction. All lists must be clearly legible and relevant links must be included in the same legible format, if so required by the individual item guidelines below. If you have any questions regarding the item guidelines below, you are encouraged to ask Admins at pmadmin.emc.gs Common Vanilla Items These are any items in Vanilla Minecraft, that are relatively easy to acquire. They may be auctioned in a minimum quantity of 9 stacks. If the item does not naturally stack, the minimum quantity is 9. Full details on every item included must be listed in the OP of the auction. Mixing of items is not allowed. For example, you may not host an auction with 3 stacks of yellow wool, 3 stacks of blue wool, and 3 stacks of green wool. You MAY combine items if each individual item meets the minimum quantity. Example: 9 stacks of yellow wool, 9 stacks of blue wool, and 9 stacks of green wool. Auction Rules Disobeying or ignoring any of these auction rules may result in punishments including, but not limited to, being blacklisted from the Marketplace and receiving in-game punishment. All players are provided the rules and expected to follow them. If you have a question, ask. Ignorance of the rules will not excuse you from punishment. If you see that anyone is not following the auction rules, please report the post with an explanation of why you reported it and a staff member will be able to assist. Special Guidelines have been laid out for many items in order to facilitate smooth operation of the auction forums. If you are unsure about a certain item that is not on this list, please message Admins at pmadmin.emc.gs. ContentsAuctionable Item GuidelinesTemplate for Auction ThreadsRules for Auction HostsRules for BiddersAuctionable Item Guidelines(top) Please see the sub-page regarding Auctionable Items. Template for Auction Threads(top) Your auction thread must contain all of these details. The formatting is variable, given that all info is shown. Thread Title: [AUCTION] Item Names Here (Optional Tags) Item: _________ Starting Bid: _________ Minimum Bid Increment: ________ Auction Ending Time: _________ Example: [AUCTION] Double Chest of Sponge *SQUISHY* Item: One double chest of sponge blocks Starting Bid: 1,000,000 Rupees Minimum Bid Increment: 10,000 Rupees Auction Ending Time: 48 hours after the last valid bid* Rules for Auction Hosts(top) Definition: "household" is defined to include all accounts which often connect to EMC services from the same physical location(s). This includes alternate accounts, family members, significant others, and other accounts that use the same IP. Leniency on this household definition can be granted only through explicit permission from the Admin team. Your household may hold a maximum of 3 auctions at a time in the Auctions section. Your household may hold a maximum of 3 auctions at a time in the Supporter Auctions section. Your thread title must start with the [Auction] tag followed by an item description. Any marketing adjectives or other subjective descriptors may only be included after the auction item description in the title. You must post full details of your auction in the OP. If you forget any detail, use the report button to alert the staff team. Include the missing information in the report reason. Item descriptions that unfairly mislead potential bidders can at worst rise to the level of scamming. Creativity in marketing your auction is encouraged without misconstruing the true rarity/origin of the auction items. You may bump your auction after 12 hours since the last post by anyone. You may advertise your auction in-game through Market Chat only. You may advertise once every 12 hours. You may not advertise in Discord Chat nor in a forum status update at this time. Posting an auction is irrevocable. By doing so, you agree to sell the item at the price it is won for. You may not change any details of your auction after it begins. If you wish to close an auction, you may do so only if no valid bids have been posted by reporting the post to Staff. You may only create auctions where Rupees are used to bid. Items cannot be used to bid. You may not advertise included "bonus items" as a reward to the auction winner. You must provide a secure pickup location in the Town world for the auction winner to collect your items. We recommend you use [ACCESS] signs to do this. You may also offer delivery. You may not offer a "buy it now" price. You may not have a "reserve price". You may not stop an auction before the posted ending time. Minimum ending time is 1 hour. You may not specify a maximum bid increment. An auction that receives no valid bids within 7 days of starting is considered closed automatically. An auction may be cancelled at any time before the first valid bid is placed. You are expected to deliver within 48 hours of the auction ending if payment is received in a timely manner, unless you and the auction winner agree to different terms, or if you clearly indicate in the OP a different delivery timetable. Rules for Bidders(top) You may only post in whole Rupees and in a proper amount. The first bid on an auction must be equal to, or higher than the starting bid. All subsequent bids must be at least the last valid bid, plus the minimum bid increment. For example, if the current valid bid is 100 Rupees, and the minimum bid increment is 10 Rupees, the lowest you could bid is 110r. Do not bid on items that you cannot afford at the time of bidding. This includes having active bids open on other auctions that would bring your balance below what is necessary on another auction. Do not make joke bids. All bids are final and you may not withdraw a posted bid. You may only bid in Rupees. You are expected to pay within 48 hours of winning an auction, unless you and the auction host agree to different terms, or if the auction's OP states that there is a different time you have to pay within. Only post on an auction thread if: You are bidding. You are asking a question about the items auctioned due to insufficient info provided. You won the auction, and are discussing collection/payment with the Auction Host. You are posting content that the staff deem relevant to the auction at hand. Asking to split an auction is not a valid post. Please discuss matters like that in a PM. You may not bid on auctions created by another account from your household. Don't attempt to scam players through auctions. Conspiracy to rig auctions will be handled by Staff as scamming. When bidding, you may either bid using the format "1500r", or "1.5k", as they mean the same thing. Be careful with any typos. You may not bid on an auction if you are currently permanently banned on EMC. Temporarily banned players are still allowed to bid on auctions. Does obscuring a bid count a joke bid? I have seen this bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb 5k and this 10k and this 1000000r quite a few times.
Will existing auctions with maximum bid increments still go on the same, or are they subject to the rule change as well?
Instead of completely banning it, can we have the option to appeal a staff member for a reasonable max bid increment? Say I am auctioning off a dragon egg, and the market value is 500,000r. I would appeal that my max bid increment be 10,000r, just to keep the auction alive.
I've seen players outbid themselves over and over again because they want the auction to go by quickly - including me
