Survival Updates

The Survival Updates were a series of changes in which the survival experience on EMC was customised to introduce new mobs, items and features.
Many Survival Update features can be customized with the Player Settings feature.

The first Survival Update was released on June 18th, 2013, in this thread. It was the first update in which Custom Mobs were added to EMC.

While major details were left to the Community to discover, the initial release of the Survival Update contained a massive amount of features, including:

The second iteration of the Survival Update was released on June 30th, 2018, in this thread (just over 5 years after v1.0). It expanded on the initial update, with many new mobs and mob mechanics being added.
All mobs previously known as minibosses became bosses after this update.
