Netherhounds, unlike normal wolves, can be found usually in the Nether, but sometimes in the Overworld. They spawn in packs with a minimum of three hounds, are constantly on fire (to which they are immune), and have a chance to set the player on fire when attacking. If extinguished, the fire will reignite when they howl. Netherhounds have 16 HP.
A Netherhound will display Netherhound howls for assistance! in the Chat when a player attacks them, or when a player comes into sight of a Netherhound. The howl gives them a speed and attack boost, and it causes more Netherhounds to be summoned. Netherhounds have slightly more HP than a normal wolf, and can no longer be eggified or tamed (see Netherhound Egg).
