Tokens
  • Empire Tokens are a special currency that can be earned on Empire Minecraft when a player completes a challenge or a task. The Tokens update was released on May 10th, 2014.

Unlike Rupees, the currency used in the player-run economy, Tokens must be earned by a player, and cannot be traded nor gifted.

    Receiving Tokens from Staff Events(top)

Players will receive Tokens from winning Staff Events. Winning FireFloor and Mob Arena will earn the player 200 - 500 tokens depending on the game difficulty and Staff member hosting the event.

Receiving Tokens from Custom Mobs and playing with Groups(top)

Players may earn Tokens by defeating Custom Mobs, such as Enraged Zombies, Enraged Skeletons, Netherhounds, or from the minibosses Momentus and Marlix.

The number of Tokens earned will scale based on the player's personal difficulty level, but it may be affected by other factors, such as the number of recent player deaths nearby (constantly dying will reduce the amount of tokens earned) or how much health the mob has lost due to other things like falling.

The amount of Tokens a player will receive is subject to how much damage they have dealt to a custom mob. Damage dealt by the environment will compromise the ability for players to earn Tokens.

Tokens are distributed based on the amount of damage that has been dealt to the monster. If you damage a monster down to 50% of its health, sign off, and another player defeats it, you will still receive half of the Tokens.

Players that take down custom monsters in a group will receive a 10% bonus to the amount of Tokens earned.

Tokens can also be earned through group activities, such as mining. When players are in a group and are completing activities, Token rewards can be given out.

    Receiving Tokens through voting(top)

Tokens can be received by voting for Empire Minecraft on various sites, some of which award more than others. There are also additional Token bonuses awarded for reaching certain vote bonus levels. See Voting Information and Bonuses for more information.

    What are they used for(top)

    Biome changes(top)

Tokens can be used to pay for a biome change on your residence in the Town. This costs you 5,000 Tokens on an SMP1-9 residence and 10,000 Tokens on a Utopia residence. Use the /res changebiome command in order to change your residence's biome.

For example, /res changebiome jungle changes your residence's biome to the jungle biome.

    Avalauncher(top)

During the Holiday Event of 2014, 2015, and 2016, a temporary promotion of EMC's Blizz Ard mob existed, and a number of Tokens could be traded in for the Avalauncher item. In 2016, the cost was 10,000 Tokens. More information can be found here.

    Planned(top)

There are many more features planned for the future, such Dragon Eggs, unique armor, and more. Tokens will also be the primary currency used to claim land for your Empire in the Frontier!
