Fred is a gray cat which spawned as part of EMC's April Fools' Day celebrations for 2022. It was announced in this thread. Upon spawning, the message "O_O" appears on nearby players' screens.
Upon death, no items drop besides the standard string given upon any cat's death, although Tokens are still received depending upon Player Settings. The message "April Fools! ... What did you think would happen?" also appears in nearby players' Chat boxes and on screen upon death.
Released again for April Fools in 2023, this time with the added drop of one "Fred" egg upon death, a British Shorthair cat egg.
Fred is a reference to a recurring joke following EMC's April Fools' Day celebrations in 2020 and 2021. A gray cat would appear at random near the bottom right of the screen, as memorialized in this thread.
