The problems of Krysyy, Aikar and how EMC is run.

I've known about the duplication thing for a while now seeing as it wasn't just diamond vouchers (that's new info for me) and if its the same guy that scammed (we'll just say "a few rupees") in which the person who got scammed hasn't seen a rupee of it back in 2 months (last I was updated) I've also been aware from multiple people that SS aren't being very helpful these days with road edits and such. I've had a hell of a time trying to get info on a Storage Wars idea, SS had talked it over but last I was updated on was that the idea was going to be checked by you and that's been a few days which now I feel as though its never going to happen (my idea that would be fun).

I shared the screenshots with people since there is nothing to lose except someone's dignity.

I'm also a bit taken back by your responses, do you have no shame? You also seem to imply we should be having a go at the SS for your faults, but that wouldn't be fair as we dont expect as much from them as you.

You have way more patience than me Krysyy, there is one thing in players having their say, but it's another thing when they are just being rude and destructive.

If anyone else has an issue, be mature enough to do it in a PM. Doing it in open forum is impolite and childish.

Just because Krysyy doesn't let you play with the rattle is no excuse to chuck it at her when you see an opportunity.

This behaviour is not becoming especially from a staff member, if anything I think Krysyy has been way to soft.

There is a well known saying, if you can't say anything good then say nothing.

Players on here professing to love EMC show great disrespect to it and the community at large by using forums in this way. Other servers I know would never allow
this at all.

So chipping away at Krysyy because she said, did or did not do or say something in your time frame is no different to sticking the boot in when the victim is on the floor.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves. SS, mods, Krysyy nor Aikar will say it nor even want it but I will say it.

Do us all a favour and go, leave and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Staff are expected to behave in a certain way, they are meant to uphold the integrity of the server and divulging private information such as EMC future plans or chats about players, is a breach of confidentiality and in any job, voluntary or paid work is an instant sackable offence which can also lead to prosecution in some cases.

If you don't like being staff because you can't get your own way or don't like the way things are done, either try to discuss it in a calm polite way and understand each others opinion or step down.

If you don't like the way things are then try and make it better, you don't need to be staff to do that.

And if you want a thank you, your doing it for the wrong reasons

You also don't need to be staff to make an event, some of the best fun I have had on EMC was doing the big dig events before it became a staff thing.

I have run competitions, donated and given away millions and got little thanks for it, but that's not why I did it, you do it because you can and you make someone else's day better.

Okay Mr Silken, I don't know if you read it all but what has been done is very childish and and impolite not just by "us" and I'm pretty sure I quoted that saying earlier directed at Krysyy cause of her insulting players "Behind the scenes". How exactly should we be ashamed of this we are all wanting change and We've got every right to want it. This server is going down hill fast so won't just be "us" leaving, You will be as well when the servers shut down. Also I find it very childish with the whole "Don't let the door hit us on the way out" so how can one call us childish when you yourself using such childish statements.

Cool it. This is a tirade of insults. You will get nowhere by insulting everyone.

B A C K O N T R A C K of suggestions for how to fix things.

** I would like to see it become easier for players to host Events and get them onto a calendar. Current lead time of over 10 days to get something added to the calendar. Is there any way to do a "player only calendar" or something? Global chat would help a lot with player events, but it isn't here yet...

example: I would be totally willing to host a Midnight Miner Mania (because I miss them and some of the late night crowd has so few events in the overnight hours), but there's no way to announce it that same day and get it to an audience.

** There has been a repeated request for some type of animal stable to help with the cats/dogs traveling around the smps because it is a bear to tame them for every new spawn that you go to. (ocelots tend to run away or just despawn after giving you hearts, but not changing into cats)

As well as some protections to other named passive mobs from harm from other players: such as, 'Cuddles' the Polar Bear can't be stolen by another player who comes along and eggs it. And 'Bob' the Villager can't be killed by a player attending an event.

** Vault and Stable Vouchers are instant to redeem. It would be nice if Supporter Vouchers were able to be redeemed immediately as well. From earlier in this post, I understand that there have been some issues with fraud.... but could they be changed going forward? Or could someone else help with the redemption?

The lead time for these is quite astounding. I mean, you go find one from a player and buy it, because you have a project that you need it for and instead of getting to work on your dream build or whatnot, you have to wait and wait and wait and .... keep checking on your status. [Obviously, real money could be spent to buy a voucher immediately, but sometimes this is not going to happen.]

** BuildMode notification in the Wild needs to stay on the screen, so that we know if it is on or not. The same little red text line we have now, just make it not blink off and on. (My naivety at coding aside, since it is already there, it should be an easy adjustment.)

** Member of the Month has not happened since the beginning of the year. If I recall correctly, there were exactly 2 of them announced. If those were going to end for some reason, I didn't see an announcement as to why.

** Monthly newsletters.
I understand wanting all the announcements to be given their own 'weight' so to speak, so how about a monthly wrap-up post of "just in case you missed it, these things happened this month"

Right now, I still see the Waste Reset announcement from August. So there hasn't been a lot of recent news up there.

** More access to Staff for Reporting issues in game.
There was going to be some work on getting the in-game syntax changed to make it easier to understand how to get ahold of staff for griefing issues or anything that /report won't work for. Then you said that there was a bug in the notification end of it. This still needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Or announce the best, preferred method for contacting staff who are not in-game, as they do not always see messages right away when they are 'on' the forums.

** Dragon Tombs
Just announce that Dragon Tombs is dead. Once and for all.
Implement whatever neat feature you can from it, but don't let us believe that it might still happen some day. Minecraft beat EMC to it and it was a great idea, so they took it and used it. THE END

** Seasonal Promos
Most of the holiday promos for 2019 did not happen. To players, this feels like EMC doesn't care and isn't paying attention. Case in Point, 'MineCon snuck up on us and we didn't have time for a promo.' Most of these promos should be an easy code, just change the year on last year's model and release it. Or am I completely wrong in understanding how they work?

Long time players login, ask about a promo, and say "nothing has changed on here, so nevermind" and leave. The promos attract attention and get bored players moving around and talking and buying or trading.

I don't think so. With very few exceptions, if an OP gets 5+ likes, it will have more likes than any other post in the thread. This is because the OP is seen by most people. Even those that skip to the end right away or skim through the thread at lightning speed will likely read the OP.

Indeed activity is much lower than it was years ago. However, it seems strange to refer to the recent posts column for that, as until recently it showed the most recently active 10 threads, instead of 20.
Also, in my observation, October has seen quite a bit more activity than the months before it. Not only in these threads, but also in threads made by for example stny and benthebobjr. But yeah, there are few in-depth forum games, there is little Minecraft discussion (maybe like me most have been losing their interest in the game? I don't keep up with snapshots anymore, to be honest), and there is no general gaming discussion besides Pokémon Go and good ole DragCave.
This place is not basically dead, however. I know of two or three forums that I would consider dead, and in the last week have been active on 5 forums that I wouldn't consider dead. Of those 5, EMC is either the most or second most active. Forums in general however are way out of fashion. For a week I have been intending to write a thread on that, but now my time goes to this thread instead.

Because I do think that frankly, even in private conversations, one should not make some of the statements that were made by Krysyy.
I think the main issue is the fact that these statements were shared with the community, while they were made in private and possibly in the heat of the moment. However, if Krysyy wouldn't have let Shell get to her so much and not have replied at that time, there would've been nothing to leak... so yes, I am quite sure that Krysyy did make a mistake. I would also think an apology would be warranted, however, it's a bit of a strange situation. Because I don't think Krysyy should apologise to the entire community because of what she said about a few members (well, a few... similar things might have been said about Jelle or I, of course). That wouldn't make sense, she should apologise to the members she offended. However, that would be strange as well. Just imagine: you are having a fine day, and then you get a message from, let's say, me: "Hey [player], I'm sorry, but when I was at Tom's a while ago, I said something unpretty about you that might have influenced Tom's and Jelle's view of you.". Well, that's quite honest, nice. But wouldn't it make you uncomfortable to hear that? If I'd just have kept it to myself, and would have said to myself "If I speak to Jelle and Tom again, let me try not to badmouth anyone", to prevent future similar situations, you likely would have never been negatively affected by my mistake at all. Unless Jelle or Tom were to share it with someone else, that is. In that case, even though I made a mistake by making the remark at all, I would think Jelle or Tom made a mistake by sharing something said in a confidential environment.

I don't get where this comes from. If I look at Krysyy's activity, it seems to me that she would spend almost 4 hours a day on EMC on average. But maybe she is more efficient than I reckon.

Edit: Sefl and Warlord have commented on this as well, but I figured I'd make a separate post myself, as I have so far agreed with you, as opposed to Sefl and Warlord, so my disapproval of some of your outings might be more convincing to you.

I'm surprised with the level of hypocrisy in this thread. Maybe someone should be posting stuff they'd been mouthing off about in private. Then again, I guess some would rather not be seen in the glow of their torch & pitchforks.

If something is said to you in private and you feel it's not right, then you tell that person right there. You don't save it in your pocket until you need it. Zero respect for that. Only shows what kind of person YOU are. It doesn't matter what was said (on any side), if people claim to be a good person, honest and trustworthy and then pull this.. you've only shown to be the opposite.

Not picking sides here because quite frankly, I don't care anymore. As it has done for many others, all that this drama and non sense is doing is pushing me further away from here.

Now, I'm not taking any sides here, but I WILL comment on them. Keep in mind that I don't intend to hurt ANYONE.
First, let's PLEASE be a little kinder to Kryysyy. Or however it's spelled.
I agree, those things she said about Kira aren't cool. But let's put this into perspective. I'm sure we've all slandered someone, whether intentional or unintentional in our lives before. Perhaps even another EMC player. I'm not saying that what Krysyy said is right, but I think you're blowing it up a little too much.
I'm very sorry to Kira and the other Krysyy hurt.
Now, I do think Kryysyy should apologize to them for what she said, but she should not be getting hell for that. And the reason is- that was a PRIVATE message. I can see where Burki was coming from, sticking up for his friends, but it still should not have been shared.
It was indeed a breach of Kryysyy's trust, regardless of what she said. So don't get mad about Burki's treatment by her- he DID break the rule. I'm sorry Burki- I'm not mad at you, please don't be offended...
And on another point (though it SHOULDN'T be another point, since this is what this thread was intended for), I do agree that we need a change in the higher staff. I'm not saying kick Krysyy or Aikar out of office. I think we should have MORE community managers.
And of course, more mods and devs. Especially devs.
Please keep this thread civil. Please stop slandering each other, especially Kryysyy. It does NOTHING except cause hurt feelings. It will not help us move forward.
And I know that everyone is mad, and is lashing out, but we need to stay level-headed and mature. We need to calmly discuss the issues with EMC, not with Kryysyy (who ofc HAS issues, but so do we all. Just because she's community manager DOESN'T mean she is suddenly supposed to be an angel. Have compassion for her. It's a tough job, especially at times like these when the entire community is reviling her.), and we need to find solutions.
Keep in mind, this is MINECRAFT. This is not affecting your irl life. Ofc, the people Krysyy insulted have a right to feel hurt, and I'm sorry about that, but you have to shake it off. It happened. You cannot change the past.
But perhaps, if we work together and keep a level head about this (and actually work towards a single goal instead of keeping getting distracted by some new tea), we can change EMC's future.
