Fun fact: the Chinese government doesn't give a damn if you're displaced by ther Dam. That's a really admirable attitude. They don't let the interests of the few get in the way of the many. They do what needs to be done, "Human Rights" be damned. May 24, 2019 at 7:55 PM

I'm not sure it's the right thing to do when you displace 1.3 million people and drive several species of animal to extinction in the name of getting more shipping lanes and 'lowering greenhouse gas emissions', despite increasing your emissions of CFCs and expanding your coal burning capacity even though you're already the biggest emitter of carbon dioxide on the planet.

The CCP is not all-powerful. Contrary to popular belief, the CCP is not Big Brother; instead it is riddled with corruption, means well, but is ultimately limited. The Chinese people want to live like Americans, and the CCP has to satify them whether they like it or not.

China wants to live like those "Europeans" and "Americans" NOW. The CCP has to make it happen or be overthrown.
The CCP can't make that happen without expanding EVERYTHING. And as of now, China does not have the capacity to make that happen without making more Greenhouse Gases (the CCP is trying, BTW).

The World is aging. There will come a time where underpopulation, rather than overpopulation is the enemy. As a matter of fact, in Korea and Japan, it is already here.

The problem with underpopulation in the current world is the fact that it does not solve itself; it gets worse and worse as time goes on.
I hate to say this, but there may come a time if we do not act that we will have to obliterate all concept of human rights to ensure the survival of the human race.

I'm much more worried about aging than about underpopulation.

Builiding an alternate timeline version of the Soviet Union (now with STATE CAPITALISM and PSEUDOSOCIALISM!) is surprisingly fun.

Goddamnit, my country is going to hell in a hand-basket. There aren't enough people. At this point, I'm considering a mandatory marriage and procreation policy preferable to the extinction of the Korean people, and that's saying something.

Another valid alternative is the annexation of North Korea by way of war. That works too, because total war is rather good for an economy.

Now, I'm rather desperate. By the time I am eligible to make these changes happen by way of election to the Presidency, Korea will have begun a slide to the end and annexation by China. The end goal is to save Korea, by whatever means needed.

I continue to question why the EU doesn't expel the UK. Frankly, If I were "Supreme Leader of the EU", I'd force a no deal, tell them "keep your goddamned money" and let them spontaneously combust.

That would be in direct violation of European law (the ECJ ruled a few years ago that member states cannot be expelled, hence why Hungary and Poland are still in the EU, despite being controlled by fascists) and earn the European Union the international and domestic community's wroth.

Nuclear Power sucks. One caveat: the other options are either horribly impractical or even more dangerous.

None of the options were really that great, but just because every option is bad doesn't mean there isn't a "best" option.

Well what do you think makes nuclear power bad? Meltdowns aren’t really a concern, especially not in the U.S. because of how many regulations and restrictions there are. The waste produced is more or less dealt with in a way that doesn’t affect the environment at all.

Nuclear power is the only silver bullet we have in regards to reducing carbon emissions that are produced to power our homes, workplaces, devices, and eventually our cars when electric cars become cheaper to produce and more abundant in supply. We need it. Unfortunately the countries that already have it are rolling back on it, and the ones that don't have it either can't (the UK) or won't (the US). A great tragedy.

Opinion: Humans are affected by the law of anti-entropy, in which any disorderly system consisting of humans inevitably transforms into a more orderly system, for better or worse.

Boy, have you seen our planet? I'd say we've introduced a fair amount of entropy to the environment, lol.

        It's never the powerful people.
They never think to put the greater good above themselves. The World would be better if we all thought more about the greater good.
