[Forum Game] New Nations

  1. Less Genius, and more Circumstance both in-game and forumwise. (Wait, is this supposed to be roundabout criticism? Or an insult? What...?)
The Empire found itself in a situation where they are basically screwed no matter what if there is a full blown war, even if it is non-nuclear. I mean, they will try to take down everyone else, but they are screwed.
So the Empire made the best of a bad situation.
They decided "why not use the reputation we built up for like 20 years and use it?"
    Now, their situation is stable.
I meant for Myanmar to show the Empire wasn't invincible, that they could be defeated. Remember in Myanmar HMKX got utterly curbstomped and was forced to go home with only 1 objective out of 3, and the least important one at that. They were so incompetent against Guerilla warfare that the biggest reason they managed to hold up was because veterans from the HMKX-Communist China war joined in (they fought against Guerilla warfare heavily, if you remember and was trained in it) and taught the newer troops some tips against Guerilla warfare.
Apparently, people didn't get the hint. No offense, but Otus, you failed to even notice that when you made the updated map. You apparently though HMKX annexed Myanmar when they didn't intend, nor would have done that, and failed at doing what they wanted.
You do realize that HMKX has been, so far the only nation that got defeated by a weaker, non global-power country? The only reason it didn't turn into Vietnam but new nations is because congress didn't want this to become an utter embarrassment.
I hope this answers your questions.
P.S. Screwing with minds has been the Empire's strategy from the beginning. Secure their own interests and tire the enemy. Push hard, but know when to back off. At least some of the games and meddling has been the work of the Theocracy.
  2. The Empire renews its calls for a meeting of OEO for the punishment of WW2 war criminals. In addition, the Empire is at this point resorting to spamming the OEO letters to get them to even consider the Imperial plan. Seriously, no one is doing anything about this? The Empire is honestly unimpressed.
The Imperial train line is now open for limited service! As soon as HMKX can connect the two adjoining halves of East and West, the Empire will be completely connected!
  3. please don't re-post messages. Also, we're unclear what the Imperial plan even is, let alone accept it.

  5. Highway revamp project:

Highway Connect (Country Rt. 1) is going to convert into a local-express highway. Basically, it's 2 highways, one express highway in the middle with exits only every 10 miles or so and a local highway on the outsides with the normal exits. In addition, with the revamp most interchanges will be converted into rotary interchanges. Highway to highway interchanges will be converted into cloverstacks. Lastly, the express lanes will have an entry fee of CH$0.25, but the local lanes will stay free. The small fee added is so that the express lanes aren't constantly clogged with traffic.
  6. Quite understandable.

    INTRODUCTION
The importance of a new headquarters for the OEO cannot be understated. The current headquarters, is to put it bluntly, a mess. It is a simple office building. The conditions within the building are unacceptable, with the building falling apart and likely to collapse within 25 years via Imperial estimates. In addition, there are no Climate Control systems and the telecommunications methods are at best mediocre. This is not fitting towards a international organization, in any shape or form. This is why the HMKX Empire would like to introduce a plan to build a Permanent headquarters for the OEO.
    SUMMARY
The headquarters would be located within Iraq, a growing economy. The symbolic meaning of this location cannot be understated. The birthplace of human civilization itself. Internal rebel leaders, Saddam Hussein and Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr, both effective leaders seems to be open to negotiation with OEO interests, especially in overthrowing the Arif brother leadership, who spends close to 90% of their budget on military matters and wants to remove Israel from the map. Keep in mind Israel posses Nuclear weaponry, and any situation could escalate into Nuclear conflict. Their leadership, while not corrupt is certainly indecisive and slack. Under their rule, Iraq has suffered. This has severely hampered Iraq's economy. However, it should be possible to remove the Arifs from leadership and replace them with al-Bakr as a leader. In addition to creating prosperity within the Middle East region, Iraq serving as a shining beacon of progress, it would also be a symbolic gesture of peace, bringing peace to a region that is now threatened by war. In order to reduce cooling needs within a hotter climate, the building itself would be located on the Northern end of Iraq. This region is mostly Cold Semi-Arid climate.
The headquarters itself would be a multi-winged building. The building itself would utilize efficient climate control, with self-cooling systems at large. While likely to be difficult, it will not merely save electricity but serve as a paragon of environmental protection for generations to come. The headquarters proper will be a 21-floor building, with a large courtyard and several monuments to peace. The 3-winged building will look something like two circles superimposed and 3 lines, pointing inward.

    CONCLUSION
A new headquarters for the OEO would be a great benefit to all involved, and would impact the world, and hopefully humanity at large hopefully. It would not do for the OEO to lose efficiency because of terrible headquarters.
  8. I don't understand, do you want us to agree with you or something?
  9. It's a paper on the position of HMKX. HMKX is trying to get their position on OEO ratified, of course they write papers. Everything in Courier New in this game is meant to be pro-HMKX. Of course it is, they wrote it. Do you expect them to decry their own behavior? I and HMKX are not the same. That's why I use the term HMKK and "the Empire", not we. Anything in Courier New is blatant roleplay. In Courier New posts, I shouldn't be viewed as the one in charge. HMKX or a representative should be viewed as the one who's talking. The posts in Courier New should always be taken with a grain of salt. HMKX's the one in charge. I mean, I'm still the one writing but with writing in Courier New, it's blatant roleplay.
Do you get that or not?
    (HMKX Empire: Courier New

These are their fonts to use in official communications. They communicate to the outside world with these fonts exclusively. Anyone can use them, but that might cause confusion.)
  10. Javor would be happy to have the OEO HQ in Iraq.

Also, while we're upgrading Hwy Connect we're going to extend the Erie Express out into New Trumbull and from there south to Cincinnati. The new route will be named the Abe Lincoln Expressway.
  11. The Empire has begun the process of negotiating with Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr and Saddam Hussein to eject the Arif brothers from their leadership roles. This will take 1 page. The Empire will support the revolutionaries in exchange for alliances and trade concessions in their new government. The Empire will also provide economic aid. This is an attempt to get to build the OEO headquarters in Iraq.
If things go South with the plan being approved, the Empire will at least have another ally in the Middle East. And that's a good thing. The Middle East is the new playground for the major powers, to any extent. If no one else gives an opinion about the new headquarter plan in 1 page, the Empire is going to go ahead with it.
HMKX has begun preparing preliminary resources in order to overthrow the Arif brothers. al-Bakr and Hussein seem to favor a bloodless coup; the Empire is accordingly providing agents within the Iraqi government and converting inner officials to the Rebels. The Arifs are going down.
The negotiations are going quite well. As a matter of fact, 10 posts should do it. Then another 10 posts for planning the coup. al-Bakr and Hussein promise to invest heavily in the civilian sector. This only makes their rule more favorable.
    This is all top secret.
  12. HMKX has, after numerous delays tested the Elijah-Type Nuclear Weapon. The detonation was located within a remote Siberian Island, with one person on the Coast of the Island pulling the wire and immediately boarding a ship. The detonation was set to a 3-hour timer, to give the ship sufficient time to escape. The shockwave went around the world 3 times. The explosion's power was inefficiently spent, but the blast was nevertheless utterly devastating. The site is now a no-go zone. The destruction is yet being surveyed.
  13. REPORT: Elijah-Type Nuclear Weapon test summary digest.
TOP SECRET DECLASSIFIED, RELEASE TO PUBLIC.

    SUMMARY OF DAMAGE

    0 Deaths
    0 Injuries
    123,000 DON (Roughly 57,000 USD)
    Island rendered completely uninhabitable.
    Long-Term effects projected minimal.

    EVALUATION

    OVERALL COSTS: MINIMAL
    PREPARATION: OPTIMAL
    RESPONSE AND HANDLING: OPTIMAL
    CONCLUSION: SUCCESS

    DIGEST OF REPORT

The area around the detonation, is predictably a large crater. The crater is roughly 0.8 kilometers wide. There were no civilian casualties. The scene for around the site is quite shocking, however. A roughly 6-Kilometer wide fireball emerged around the Nuclear blast. The planes sent to survey the fireball from afar described the fireball as "Something Straight out of Hell.". Concrete and Wooden structures set up to measure raw destructive capacity were completely destroyed in a 8-Kilometer radius, and fatalities, had this been a city are projected to have reached 100%. This can essentially be viewed as the effective radius of the weapon as a life sterilization device. Concrete and Wooden structures set up to measure raw destructive capacity were destroyed in many cases at 18-Kilometers radius, and fatalities are presumed to have been widespread had this been a city. In a 54-Kilometer Radius, 3rd degree burns would be highly widespread, if not nearly certain. In a 58-Kilometer radius, 3rd degree burns would be certainly widespread, but not certain. In a slightly over 70-kilometer radius, 2nd degree burns would be widespread. In a slightly over 90-Kilometer radius, 1st degree burns would be widespread. Beyond 120 Kilometers, it would be impossible to suffer harm from this weapon's effects. Overall, this weapon test, while slightly disappointing was a resounding success. The bomb is extremely effective, and could be planted in any location and detonated in case of war. The test was excellently carried out, with 0 civilian or military fatalities. The radiation is likely to dissipate within days to safe levels, and the island has been rendered a no-go zone. Evacuated civilians have been appropriately compensated for their move. There were no budgetary nor compensation anomalies within the test, and the end result is nothing less than success. This case is closed.
    REPORT END
  14. TUN is worried about this weapon of mass destruction, but highly doubts The Empire would ever use it in terms of war. The Empire has always been talking about how nuclear war would be their end, and dropping one of these bad boys would truly signify the end of The Empire, and every nation of the earth.

Thus, this bomb will most likely be used as a threat device, but The Empire can be unpredictable, so let us hope not for the worst.
  15. The Bomb's intended purpose is to kill as many people as possible with as little radiation as possible. It was very successful in that regard. Its lead tamper allowed it to produce very little radiation for its raw destructive power.
This is because the bomb was not intended to be a device to destroy the enemy. That's just a side effect, and not at all a good thing for its purpose. As a matter of fact, the Empire would have used a bioweapon had they had the ability to reliably contain it. Less destruction, more death.
It is a weapon to end the world as cleanly as possible. To allow the old world's carcass to be picked apart by the new, to allow a new world to rise from it and reclaim the glory of humanity.
In a nuke fight, where HMXK is basically done for, the best they can do for the world is to make sure it is less radioactive scorched wasteland where nothing will live again and more everything is dead and everything is destroyed but things aren't so bad out here.
That's right, this weapon was made with benevolent intentions in mind. A heckin nuke.
    A kind of twisted mercy.
If humanity must destroy the soil in which they live, the Empire sees no reason to contaminate it unnecessarily.
  16. Introducing the new Javor National Route System!
This is the new national highway system, managed by the country's DOT, National Route division. All the info is below, about the new routes. Construction of new roads begins effective immediately, and will be finished post 860.

Javor is going to be pouring some more of its budget into finding a more safe yet more efficient interchange other than the current Cloverstack and Rotary interchanges. A new design is predicted by post 842, and will be implemented into the new highways.

  17. HMKX now has a significant budget surplus.
Might as well as invest that into further infrastructure.
HMKX has mailed a large gold star to Javor. This is for no apparent reason.
HMKX has mailed an expensive stationary set to the UKNS.
HMKX has mailed a tree to TUN.
HMKX has shipped a large package of Saplings to UFOS.
    Merry Christmas, everybody.

  18. TUN has looked for any signs of disease and has planted the tree on a village hill. Thank you.

wait... it isn't.... Christmas.. its not even Halloween yet ... hmmmmmmmmm
  19. In-game, the time is roughly Christmas.
The western Empire did this. The East doesn't even know what Christmas is.
The large mountain fortress that is the capital shall not house the president in event of Nuclear War. No, the President can die, they started the war, they pay. Instead, several "Ideal Candidates" shall be chosen from the populace. They will be informed of their status to rebuild the world. After the end, the HMKX Empire will have been proven as a failure. Therefore, a new symbol, a new name seems prudent; the "Ideal Candidates" shall rebuild, in specialized vaults that will be built in 30 years. They will not succeed the Empire. They will simply rebuild the world.
    (Yeah, I'm going all-out fallout.)
