In return, the Empire will allow Visa-Free Javor-Empire transport and promises to attempt removal of Guinean Aluminum tariffs from Guinea, which they currently only do to HMKX (because they kicked out a dictator and installed a... semi-puppet state). The new map division is not agreed upon. TUN is standing firmly behind Israel's back, and will not side with the Palestine nation.
The Empire and co. would like to point out that this is an injustice corrected. Palestine is slowly being annexed by Israel, and deprived of their self-determination rights. Palestine essentially got kicked out of their own land by invaders. In this treaty, Israel and Palestine both get a homeland and Jerusalem is free from any one religion's promotion. However, the Empire privately sends encoded communication indicating Jerusalem as an OEO managed area is really the Empire's main goal here, and a cessation of the Israeli annexation of Palestine would be enough to satiate the Empire's motives. For the rest of the Arab states... well, the Empire can't guarantee anything. (I am hoping someone decides to side with the Shia bloc of Muslims, led by Iran. HMKX has unmatched... not control. HMKX cannot control their allies in the Middle East. Power. And that's boring.)
(out of topic) has anyone felt like New Nations has just been dragged a lot recently? I feel like the heart and soul it had before has been drained, and everything has become dull... I was wondering if anyone else was thinking about a refresher, maybe a New Nations "Mini" set in the medieval times, similar to this game, but well... In the Medieval times. Notice how I said "Mini." Since it was so far back, I feel the political, economic, and technology aspects wouldn't be so expansive as it is in this game and timeline. And since it's like a mini-series, we could still use this thread to carry on our current world, but, as a refresher, we could also be dabbling along with another series, which would be much different from this. I don't know how you all feel about it, but I feel like a shorter New Nations game set in the Medieval or Ancient times, where we could be kings within Medieval Europe, or the Middle East would be awesome! Of course, not everyone is well informed with all the different nations from back then, so we could cut edges as we did with this game. Also, ALT, get yo butt back on this thread!
I mean, it could work. We need a few crises. I'll think of one to instigate upon HMKX, since they've been doing a bit too well. Also, a map update couldn't hurt. I'm making a Global Alliances Map. We also need a few more players, that's part of the problem. There are essentially 4 players right now, Alty is way too swamped.
But during those crises, not many of us are as interactive as we were before. I feel like maybe going into a new mindset would be positive for all of us and bring in new peeps. Then, if we want to we can continue with this thread... I was also thinking about doing a native American tribal thing, instead of a Medieval timeline, but it's subject to change. ALSO, I just realized that since all of us wanted to have a war on this thread, but never ended up accomplishing it, having a medieval or 'whatever' setting would allow us to experience with battling each other, since it was much more prevalent in that time.
Yeah, war in this thread would result in an apocalypse, NN2 never really understood the full effects of Nukes, but HMKX wants to avoid war at all costs because by design it is screwed if war happens, so they are avoiding it strenuously. That was by complete accident. I also have a post up there way at the front, I could post all new map updates.
I'd like to join as theidea seems quite interesting, but now basically everything is just about war and weapons and fighting and that crap, which I really couldn't care less about. Were it to be much more about other things too I'd probably join too, but at this moment there's just no point to me joining. Maybe others think something similar to this.
It's undergoing a shift in tone. The first 30 pages were about conquest, but now most nations have settled down and are now attempting to seize power in more peaceful ways. It's less about war, and more about geopolitical power-jockeying and bloodless conflict. Less actual war, more Cold Wars. The Empire has been strategically allying and intervening in strategic ways, not invading everything in sight. (That Colombian crisis was one I intended to be tense, but diplomatically as the UFOS and HMKX weighed their options. HMKX sent an army to make a statement.) Wait 5-10 pages, it will probably get better.
I understand. IF we shifted into medieval times, and what not, it's inevitable that, that era would include a lot of fighting and warfare, but, there are other ways to develop a peaceful nation... Just my idea, If Alt doesn't respond to it for a while, I might consider making my own.

And will be carefully built with safety in mind in 20 posts at these locations: Toronto, Ontario Quebec City, Quebec Edmonton, Alberta New York City, New York Note: The power plants may not be directly in these cities, but they are in the general areas, just to give a grander view. The first ever atomic powerplant located in Buffalo, New York, is being dismantled. As of right now, Timmins is still unhabitual, and scientists say it may never be habitable in 25,000 years... As of now, research has been on hold in the abandoned city, and entering the area is strictly prohibited. Nature seems to be taking back its right to the town though...
TUN has decided to loosen their grip on Malaysia's government, and finally allow the independence that they deserve, while still blocking a communist or dictatorship. While Malaysia is becoming much freer, they are still a colony of TUN, and still under their name. TUN troops have shifted from war, and into peacekeeping. So far, cities and villages which have been ruined by the war, are being repaired at a fast pace, and broken communities are being reunited stronger than ever. Roads, farms, factories, airports, railroads, and other means of transportation and industry are also being fixed, unfortunately, some places which TUN military bombed due to excessive Malaysian rebel use during the invasion a few years back have been difficult to repair, and some projects have been abandoned. So far, all goals to fix the damages are coming to a close. Now, all that needs refurbishing is the economy and well being of the citizens. As for Guerilla forces, they have been eradicated, their camps and organizations have been flushed out and oppressors have been sent to prison. Although, there is no doubt that there is a stir of rebellion with the citizens, and a small "Anti-TUN" movement is certainly arise.
The Empire will negotiate a FTA and military alliance with Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Ukraine. This will take 1.5 years or 3 pages to fully do. The Empire will commence a 10-year modernization of remote regions project. Laws will be better enforced with this, and people will enjoy a higher standard of living. In addition, the Empire has once again initiated a corruption purge. A bit of information on HMKX corruption probes, heads will roll. And they are quite rare, because corruption probes need evidence to start. Basically, HMKX corruption probes are a death sentence for the project involved. If you are subjected to a corruption probe, armed soldiers invade every building, every home as they rip them all apart in search of evidence. They are very thorough. Very, and they shoot anyone that resists. For example, deliberately blocking search officers will result in you being shot with an AK-47. Burning or otherwise destroying evidence is its own charge, "Obstruction of Justice", and that is punishable by a 40-year stint in jail at minimum. And when they find something that is incriminating, they ship it up to the courts. After this, a trial takes place. If someone is found guilty, their life is over. Either they die, or they get a life sentence. The minimum sentence is 20 years, and that is if you are extraordinarily lucky. To prevent skewing of results, Judicial bribery is treated especially harshly, with higher-end judicial bribery almost guaranteeing a visit to a slow-acting electric chair*. Of course, there have been attempts to use this as a political tool. But that is its own charge of corruption, called "Misuse of Authority". You'll get killed by Carbon Monoxide if you're lucky. *An extremely brutal torture tool, it is the most evil method of execution the Empire has available. Or anything, really. It is reserved for corrupt people or serial killers.
The Canadian Agriculture and Forestry Industries have seen a recent boost in jobs and exports, much more than after the war when North America's economy faced a large economic boom. British Columbia and Alaska are leading in the forestry industry, as well as the tourism market surprisingly, people from all around the world love the rich culture and safety TUN features, much more than other crippled parts of our world. Ontario leads in being the biggest producer of mixed grains and tobacco, and other states such as Washington and Manitoba are exclaimed as the top dogs in the Agriculture Industry. The Agriculture in TUN is so well acclaimed in fact, that it is said to be one of the best in the world. An honourable title to be handed to the growing population of The United North. Unemployment rates are proudly low, at 3.0%, a number which is expected to drop by 0.1% in the upcoming year if the government's new plans to create new jobs come out right. On other news, Javor's insane growth in highways and transportation has left a mark on TUN, Javor is truly the fastest growing nation right now. TUN has begun plans to build a new Freeways in Ontario, which will lead to New York state, through Vermont, and up to Maine. TUN is focused on making a cleaner and the less polluted world, and so projects to cut down on emissions are being expanded. Solar and Wind energy is being explored and heavily relied on in some parts of TUN, and Hydro and dams are also being worked on in the west. Nuclear Energy is a saviour, but due to the immense danger it opposes, TUN looks for better outlets. As for TUN's Native American population, they are heavily being benefitted, and have been benefitted ever since TUN Council back in the late 1940s worked on deals with the Indigenous peoples to give them proper rights and their land back. Pollution of Native American waters is being heavily patrolled, and any government projects or what not, which bring risk to the environment are being halted, and Native American territories are being left alone and healthy. TUN also focuses on fair healthcare and Education to Indigenous peoples.
The HMKX Empire has officially started the Infrastructure project. While Korea, Japan, Eastern China and Western Russia are all well and good*, there are some areas that do not know the Empire even exists. Therefore, the Empire has begun a project to make these agricultural areas do what they do best: farm. While several other programs were in effect in order to maximize production, stocks of nitrogen-fixing plants and manuals on how to create safe, effective fertilizer from fecal matter are being delivered, as well as normal fertilizers and cocktails of plants to enrich the land. The vast (unsuitable) Siberian lands are slowly being converted into useful farmland for all to use. The pockets of rich farmland in the East are being cultivated and crop rotation is encouraged. In addition, food waste is encouraged to be composted by all. However, the Empire is well aware that they may try to break the rules. In order to combat this, a massive survey of all farms is being created, in order to send inspectors to farming communities. In order to send inspectors, the Empire needs roads and other infrastructure. The jobless are being recruited en masse in order to create infrastructure. This is expected to create another massive economic growth spurt. Dams, lakes, roads, power lines must be laid across the land. A few sewers couldn't hurt. Government contractors are attempting to negotiate a deal with UFOS to buy copper. The UKNS Prime minister's repeated disappearances has concerned the Empire. After extensive bureacratic resistance by... companies involving sheep, protesters wearing sheep costumes, crazy cult people, and companies that all involve the initials S.O.G. when marketing in English (quite a few of them are Russian or Chinese). (Hint: These guys are agents or front operations of the HMKX theocracy) the Empire has sent several phones calls. After no response, the Empire has simply decided to launch an all-out global manhunt for the minister, because he is probably Dead, and someone is hushing it up. Barely able to maintain authority in the fact that... groups are trying to replace him. Some other horrible thing. While the UKNS proper seems to ignore it all, the Empire is worried. *While below TUN, UKNS, or Javorian standards, no one starves in the big cities, and everyone has a decent house electricity and water. The Empire is striving to embody opportunity, as if you end up on the streets, it won't be long since the welfare system sweeps you right into a new job, and all the good things that come with it. The Welfare system provides you enough to not starve, but the conditions are crap, motivating the workless populace to work. While HMKX has long and often harsh hours and conditions, the minimum wage is ridiculously high (higher than the US 50s, it is quite feasible to maintain a 2-child family and take them to the amusement park once in a while) in order to make up for the 0% corporate tax rate and very (10%) low rich tax rate. In addition, wages rise with inflation. I told you, the Empire's socialism is bizarre. In one sentence: Opportunity for the common man, sharing for the powerful man.
The UKNS Prime Minister has been found dead in a river, thought to have been murdered by an extremist right-wing group. A leadership election within the Labour Party is underway, however the party is beginning to show its age after a long tenure in government lasting 20 years, with political infighting between the left wing and right wing of the party rearing its head.
