Colombia illegally invaded Panama for their own gain, and Imperial forces have beat back the Colombians into their own territory. The Empire did this out of legitimate international peacekeeping action. Stopping illegal invasions is very important, as illegal invasions destabilize world peace. The Empire now has control of both the Arctic and Panama Canal. The TUN Navy must now circle around the entire South American continent to even move their navy to strike at the Western Empire, with loose cannon UFOS always behind then in order to pressure them. Essentially, the Empire just split the entire TUN navy in half. If the TUN wants to move their navy in the event of war, they'll have to pick out of 4. Nuke Panama, making the Canal dangerous for ships to pass, and potentially destroying it. Of course, HMKX can't use it either, but it's more valuable to TUN. After all, the Empire doesn't live in the Americas. Invade Panama, in which Panama has no obligation to help the Empire, in which case TUN will essentially be invading a nation that did basically nothing. That's not going to earn the TUN any international respect. Do nothing, in which TUN will have to move the ships around the entire South American continent. Or the arctic, hostile Imperial territory and cold lands. That's going to be pretty damaging for the navy. Pressure Panama into stopping. This is going to be hard. Panama owes the Empire its existence. In addition, the Empire's MRBMs could reach Panama before TUN's ICBMs, and the Empire's well aware of this option. Apraksin-Class Heavy Cruiser: 21,000 tons displacement standard load Speed: 27 knots Power Source: Nuclear Powered A monster, this ship is a missile platform. These things are capable of ripping through arctic ice. This ship is well-equipped, a general all-rounder. Essentially, a Jack-of-All-Stats. While primarily a missile platform, this ship could perform any kind of role, requiring only moderate support and a bit of moving things around here and there. 3 are prepped to build. OOC: This is based of the Skoryy-Class destroyer, as well as several other destroyer types. Apparition-Class Destroyer: 3,000 tons displacement standard load Equipped with formidable anti-submarine warfare equipment, this destroyer is nevertheless a decent fighter in many respects. This ship is capable of handling Arctic conditions, and was designed with the purpose of destroying Arctic submarines. However, a redesign lessened the focus on ASW. This ship is, while having very strong endurance is still complicated to run. OOC: This is based off the S-75 Dvina. Eagle-Class SAM: A SAM based off years of research, this is years put into fruition. A very effective method of defense, it can shoot down high-flying bombers. It is well-adjusted for any reasonable speed, but is especially effective for the B-52's speed. Golly, I wonder why. The E-3 is under development.
The UKNS accepts the oil deal, as it is in need of an alternative to coal after its coal mines at home are struggling. However, this is on the condition that the HKMX stays well away from the UKNS slice of the Arctic, the Suez Canal, and keeps the Panama Canal intact.
When on earth did the UKNS seize the Arctic? Tell the UKNS what, here's the Empire's end of the deal. The Empire is allowed to keep its claim on most of the Arctic ice shelf. The Empire really already set up shop there. The Empire will stay away from the water claim of the UKNS. If that is impossible, then the Empire is willing to settle with Alaska's claim, Denmark's claim and by default Russia's claim. TUN did nothing, and there is no international law about it. The UKNS claim will be respected in both first and second scenarios. The Suez Canal is Egyptian territory. The Empire will respect Egyptian sovereignity, and stay well away from the Canal for as long as Egypt wants them to. Why would the Empire destroy the Panama canal? They have what they want. This is a wholehearted yes.
I just realised you said Arctic, not Antarctic But yes the same time I clarified my inheritance of the UK also meant its overseas territories, such as Gibraltar, Caribbean and Pacific islands, and the Falklands. One of these overseas territories is Elizabeth Land, a big portion of Antarctica. There is also the matter of the Norwegian Arctic. However the UKNS accepts the deal.

We don't give a crap if you have the majority of the Arctic, we still have the sector of the Arctic ocean North of Alaska, The Canadian Arctic Archipelago, and the Arctic near Greenland. We'll just pull our very small militarized force from the north to the mainland, and watch as you struggle through the mountainous and icey terrain. After a few months, we'll come up there and bury your dead bodies and tanks that froze over. Yeah, no point in attacking us anymore eh? The Panama Canal wasn't of any real change to us, because the majority of our ships are in the Pacific and Oceania, but since you work on being a huge pain in the ass, we'll gladly watch your ships sink to the bottom of the ocean. As we speak, I already have a fleet of Destroyers and Cruisers closing in on you to surround Panama. One fleet in the Carribean, and one fleet fortunately close enough in the Pacific.
