[FORUM GAME] New Nations

  1. Nearly 120,000 men, tanks, armoured vehicles, horses and even camels trudge through the An-Nafud desert, on the journey to Medina and then Mecca. Their plan isn't ones of a desert dweller however, they coordinate Naval attacks in the region of Oman, making it seem as if information of a surprise attack was leaked, however the nearly 100,000 men that were expected to come did not, only a few ships and planes...

The Nile Convention from Nubia blocks the Red Sea ports across from Mecca and establishes a poor naval blockade and distraction, totaling nearly 150,000 men in the siege, this is Operation Desert Walker.

Basically, through desert fighting tactics, the Ashqar Rebels, now a military of themselves and Nile Convention seize Medina, and within the next 24 hours seize Mecca. After capturing the city, they realize that the weakness of the Caliphate army was no mistake, it felt as if their leader had vanished, leaving them with little opportunity to manage. And that's what happened,

Ibn Saud disappeared nearly 7 months ago, and although he reappeared months later, it was through a radio station, no physical appearance; and only the people who have heard him speak in real life were suspicious.
Through interrogation, investigating and concrete evidence, it has been discovered that Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud, had DIED of a heart attack several months ago, and no announcement was made.

This opens up a new gate to the Caliphate, now with the Capital under the hands of a revolutionary group, it is time to start a new country, but also to fight another civil war, as the Wahhabi regiments fight against Musawaism and Ashqar.

Ashqar doesn't sit on the throne yet, but he brings back the Musafakhi Parliament to establish a short provisional government and to figure out how course of action should play out.

  2. It's 1951, and the Caliphate's government is in chaos, as there is no specific leader, just a bunch of politicians figuring everything out. Ibn Saud is dead, it was confirmed that he died from a heart attack in Taif near Mecca. Now, he leaves an open gap, as the military is forced to yet again swear allegiance to ANOTHER king, and now the people must gather their hopes.

Records state that under the oppressive regime of the House of Saud, nearly 100,000 civillians have died, although Ibn Saud wasn't a direct cause, he allowed a Wahhabi group to commit genocide against Non-Muslims and Non-Arab Muslims all across the Caliphate, for some reasons of forced conversion, honor killings, and immense Sharia Law practices, which saw even small criminals being executed, and gay people being hanged.

Ashqar Ayyad greatly mourns for the people, and has sought to establish Musawaism in the Caliphate, a "liberal" socialist form of Islam.

So far, Damascus has been moved to the Capital, one of the least effected cities, as Baghdad and Mecca are unstable. The great minds of Islam have formed in the Musafakhi Parliament and ponder on who shall be chosen as the new leader, and some even question if a Caliph should be chosen.

The most capable candidate is Ashqar Ayyad, the brother of the first Caliph of the Sunayyad Caliphate, however he has contenders:

    Parsa Panahi - Perisan
Believes that the state of any country should be a republic.

    Houshang Khaledi - Persian

Believes that power should be in the hands of the people, and a large amount of parliament members, along with legaslatives, political parties, and elections.

    Wajeeb al-Soltani - Arab
Believes that the role of the Caliph should only be as a religious leader, not a governmental one.

    Waseem al-Mattar - Arab
Believes that total power should be in the hands of the Caliph, as long as they are well educated, a good leader and fit for service. They should gain power not by force, but by being chosen by a high-ranking Clergy or the previous Caliph.

    Mehmet Ali Sari - Turkish
Believes that the Caliph should work with a parliamentary government to decide decisions on the country. The Caliph should be more of a "presidential" role.

    Aïn Defka - Algerian
Believes that the Caliphate should represent more provinces of their regime.

More rest in the parliament, however these are the top dogs. Ashqar Ayyad is seen as the most fit for the role of Caliph, as he has educated and humbled himself in the Islamic word, making him a great leader, but he has also humbled himself as a person, making him a person of the people, where more liberal laws will be given to the people, and where international relationships and economic strives will be made. Ashqar Ayyad has even vowed to never douse himself in riches or live in a large Palace.
The second best Candidate is Houshang Khaledi, as mostly everyone agrees with him, however the least respectable of the Great Minds is Aïn Defka, although he isn't very cared about, Ashqar Ayyad has agreed to include every region in the new government at his request.
Now all that needs to be done for the people is wait, Ashqar Ayyad is not guaranteed to become the next Caliph, however, if he shall rule as one, he will take in everyone's considerations and bring a golden age.
  3. The Founder states he "has a 50% probability of being responsible for the Heart attack. In any case, he was a fat man and he would't have lasted very long."
SEU has laid out Mr. Defka, Sari or Al-Soltani as their primary backers.
  4. No, he was literally 78 years old, most likely died because of stress and old age.

He's a real person, Abdulaziz Ibn Saud was actually a Saudi King, died in 1953 at age 78 in Taif. He died in his sleep.

  5. OOC: The Founder isn't being particularly serious. He's joking, but he might have been responsible for a couple of the bad things. Might. He is magic to some extent and an extension of Warlord678's/my will in any case, which is also why he does nothing but farm in mountains, because I want him to.
  6. SEU Ship Naming conventions:
    • Aircraft Carriers: [SOCIALIST IN LANGUAGE OF [INSERT USSR REGION HERE]][INSERT USSR REGION HERE]/Famous Historical (preferably Naval) Figures
    • Submarines: Provinces.
    • Cruisers: Large cities.
      • Superheavy Cruisers: Cool-sounding Socialist things.
    • Destroyers: Small cities, if unavailable geographical features.
    • Frigates and Corvettes: Whatever SEU has lying around that's alive.
SEU is developing the T-54A, although it'll be a year until it's complete. The MiG-19's design lessons have resulted in SEU sending back data to Mikoyan-Gurevich for a new Gen2 Fighter jet, the MiG-21 although that's a lot further off.
  7. Popularity Ranking System:
    • A - Superb, very popular, high chance of majority win.
    • B - Great, quite popular, possible chance of majority win.
    • C - Good, somewhat popular, high chance of minority win.
    • D - OK, less than average popularity, possible chance of minority win.
    • E - Lacking, poor popularity, low chance to win any vote.
    • F - Very Poor, not popular at all, will most likely never win a vote.
The Parliament has formed into its respective parties, those of which being the,
    • Islamic Fundamentalists
    • Caliphate Redemptionists
    • Nile Convention
    • Republicists
    Islamic Fundamentalists
    Leader: Wajeeb al-Soltani - Arab
Belief: The Caliphate should take religion on a much more serious note, and the Caliph should be a religious leader rather than in charge of government.
    Popularity Percentage: C

    Caliphate Redemptionists
    Leader: Ashqar Ayyad - Arab
Belief: That the Islamic state should rule under the Caliph in a Caliphate, also that human rights should be pushed for, as well as a Golden Age of Islam and Caliphate, as well as the implementation of Musawaism.
    Popularity Percentage: A

    Nile Convention
    Leader: Aïn Defka - Algerian
Belief: That the Caliphate should take in account of all ethnic groups, minorities and religions, and to also improve rights in South Nubia to prevent a revolt; basic right, a lot going to improve Sahara and Nile communities (Ironically, Ain Defka is from Algeria which is not connected to the Nile River, however the Nile Convention sees him as the most popular candidate and capable of backing them up.) However, their economics and policies other than including others into government is poor.
    Popularity Percentage: E

    Republicists:
    Leader: Parsa Panahi - Perisan
Belief: That the Caliphate should cease to exist, and that the current nation should become a republic or Independent Nation, bounded by a secular government that follows democracy and congress.
    Popularity Percentage: B

    How the Musafahki Parliament Operates:
It doesn't exactly follow a Western approach of government exactly, but it is a large congregation of politicians and speakers who push for reforms, solve problems and present ideas. They are also regional and ethical leaders, in control of regions (states, provinces) as the hands of the Caliph as a Governor would control a state, and look over the municipalities, although they do not follow an Independence like the U.S.A states do.
Ethnic leaders such as the leader of the region of Kurdistan and the Kurds, or the Berber peoples. (Aïn Defka of the Nile Convention is ethnically Berber and not Arabic, which is why he wants the voice of all ethnicity in the Caliphate.)

A vote is done on which party should succeed, however, this is not usual occurrence. In traditional Caliphate elections, it is not up to the people to vote, but the Caliph to choose his head govenors, and for the Divine Rightful Decision Makers to choose the Caliph if he does not seize power or chosen by an alive Caliph. However, due to the vast differences within the Parliament and communities, using this means of religious and honorable elections are difficult, meaning that a vote for a majority ideological party has to be chosen, although it has been said by Quran that the Caliph should be chosen by Allah, although many aspects in the Caliphate call for a secular government, making the entire Musafakhi Parliament complex, as there is a voting system, although it is only used for decisions that the Caliph can not think on, or when there is a non-ruling period.

In actuality however, Ashqar Ayyad is the rightful Caliph, as he is the brother of the first Caliphate and was chosen specifically by him. Unfortunately, secular influences and international democratic sources have hindered this progress, but Ashqar Ayyad is RIGHTFULLY in line to rule.
  8. SEU wants a Hybrid of the Old Caliph's policies and the Islamic fundamentalist policies. Effectively, they want a religiously relaxed Caliphate that still maintains the Caliph as a Religious rather than Political leader. However SEU has no say in any of this, and the person they've backed (Defka) is useless for SEU's purposes due to his sheer unpopularity. SEU decides to wait for things to unfold before making any further move.
  9. The SEU Government really likes mostly-historical somewhat-propaganda films.
    EXAMPLE:
Myeongyang Last Stand: While most of the plot is the same as the Historical Accuracy, they downplay Liu's incompetence and make Myeongyang look more powerful than it was. I mean, it was stronger than anything else other than her sister ship; however it looks like it took the entire Caliphate Navy to sink it.
True to their state capitalist nature, SEU has state-owned enterprises. SEU's state-owned enterprises are mostly things like Weapons (While technically public, SEU owns 100% of their stocks), Electricity (ditto), and nominal control over the Food industry (De jure control over food industry, but de facto public.) They also have exclusive merchandising rights over SEU weapons of war; SEU is has earned good money off this.
    SEU Aircraft Carriers:
    Admiral Kuznetsov
    Jang Bo Go
    Chen Shaokuan
    Socialist Australia
    Volodymyr Velykyy
    Socialistik Qazaqstan
These all follow SEU naming conventions, as is standard.

  12. BASIC SOCIALIST EURASIAN UNION KNOWLEDGE FOR TOURISTS
ISSUED BY SOCIALIST EURASIAN UNION MINISTRY OF TOURISM
    REGIONS
The Socialist Eurasian Union consists of 7 different regions.
Russian Region, Chinese Region, Korean Region, Australian Region, Belarusian Region, Ukrainian Region and the Kazakhstani Region
    CAPITAL CITIES
Beijing, Hanyang/Seoul (ongoing dispute about city name), Moscow, Canberra, Nur-Sultan, Minsk, and Kiev.
    OFFICIAL LANGUAGES
Russian, Chinese (subtypes Mandarin, Min, Jin, and Wu are recognized), Korean, Kazakh, Ukrainian, English, and Belarusian. As of now, Chinese and Russian are the most commonly used languages.
    GOVERNMENT
Presidential Republic. The current People's Leader is Mao Zedong. The current Minister of the Nation is Deng Xiaoping. The People's Congress is the Unicameral Assembly of representatives.
    CURRENCY
    Soci
Used by all nations in the USSR and thus interchangeable. If one is visiting any of the USSR's component states, usage of the Soci is recommended. As of now regional currencies are still accepted to some extent, but the changeover to the Soci is substantial and many places no longer accept such currencies.
    TIME ZONES
Time zones vary significantly; the Westernmost is GMT 3+, and the Easternmost is GMT 12+, both in the Russian Region.
    GENERAL INFORMATION
Cars are to be driven on the Right side of the Road; the format of dates is Day/Month/Year. In the Russian regions, exploring deep into Siberia and straying from established infrastructure and roads is strongly discouraged; there are many dangers (hostile animals, hostile climate, hostile natives) and if you are lost in the vast lands the SEU government cannot help you. In Kazakhstan, Australia or China, exploring into the Desert is likewise strongly discouraged; the SEU government cannot help you if you are lost.

  13. The SNE starts investing money into creating a new aircraft. The name : Hawker Sea Hawk. It will be fitted with 4 MK V guns and bombs. It is a one man jet and the predicted speed is around 500 mph. The first few are expected to be done in a year.

The SNE also wants to improve relations with The Federation after WWII. They hope to start up trade and hopefully get allied with each-other. They offer food and weapons to show that they aren't enemies. The SNE hopes they accept this offer.
  14. The education system in the UBR is... not the best. The Ministry of Children, Education, and Research are putting in place a set of standards and a new, uniform layout for how many years students go to school.

PRE-SCHOOL: optional, starts from age 2 going to age 6. Children learn communication skills, basic counting and mathematics, teamwork, and creativity.
PRIMARY SCHOOL: compulsory. Teaches children from grade 1 (ages 6-7) to grade 5 (ages 10-11). Children learn slightly more advanced mathematics (addition, subtraction, multip., division), reading comprehension, writing, and social skills. At this stage, students typically start to make strong friendship bonds. In 5th grade, students also start to learn English.
LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOL: compulsory. Teaches students from grade 6 (ages 11-12) to grade 9 (ages 14-15). Students learn more and more advanced concepts and are given more freedoms. Students continue to learn English as well as, starting in grade 7, another language of their choice.
UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL: optional, however strongly recommended. Teaches students from grade 10 (ages 15-16) to grade 13 (ages 18-19). Students are teached very advanced concepts. Upper secondary schools are very large and so therefore offer a large range of specialised courses. Besides a set of mandatory classes in grades 10 and 11, students are offered a very large variety of courses to choose from and take.
TERTIARY SCHOOL: optional. Schools offer Bachelor's, Master's, Licentiates, and Doctorates at varying difficulties and length to complete.

  15. The Caliphate invests in building fallout bunkers. They have nuclear weapons, and are almost finished a Ballistic missile, they know what can happen.
  16. The Founder shows up again and makes a short speech about generic stuff (he is apparently doing this to earn money; he is very expensive because he's one of the Founding Fathers of SEU), but he seems to have been beat up badly for whatever reason; he is not in a good state, instead being in terrible condition; he can still stand and walk around, but he is in crutches and seems to carry around a pack of throwing knives wherever he goes. In any case, maybe he got mugged because he lives in mountains all the time.
OOC: The Founder is the extension of my will in certain forum games, although he is my extension in the way that a branch is part of a tree, but the branch is not the tree and the tree is not the branch. His name isn't "the Founder"; that's just an alias.
Now, the MiG-19 has proved itself to not be the best possible jet; SEU has decided to cease MiG-19 production in favor of the coming (1957) MiG-21, and Sukhoi has also been requested to design a Naval counterpart for it. However, SEU continues to use the MiG-17 as Gen1+ jet instead, because the MiG-17 can still very much fight whatever is on the sky on equal terms. The MiG-15 and a downgraded version of the MiG-17 is still being sold.
  17. SEU has outlined a project for 2 massive buildings that are each 515 meters tall, called "Palace of the Soviets". Now, SEU wants funding from the rest of the USSR on this what is basically a giant ego project. There are some good reasons to build it; the USSR has so many people and so many delegates/representatives that there is not even a single building that can fit them all; they have to meet outdoors. The Palace of the Soviets will be the tallest building on Earth and the largest by sheer volume; massive dehumidification systems will be installed to stop weather from forming. It will have some benefits but mostly boost the ego and be a point of pride for the SEU. One will be installed at Beijing and Moscow.
They will be massive architectural feat, and cost a lot of money. SEU has a lot of money left over and SEU has requested private investor funding; having offices there will be very good for a company for many reasons, and SEU has made places there cheap.
  18. The AI-4 faces upgrades to a naval counterpart, however, the AI-4 was made to last WELL for a long time, being highly reliable, easy to repair and manuever, and made to generally last a long time without spending more money on new planes.

However, that is where the irony comes in, as the Caliphate is investing into the AI-5, a supersonic 2nd Generator Jet Fighter, capable of much higher speeds than the AI-4. It will be introduced in nearly 2 or less years.

The A-44 is already at its best, however the A-44-2 variant has been released, opting as a more tactical fighter.

Air-to-Air missile technology is sweeping in development.
  19. 1951
Will you or will you not support the "Palace of the Soviets"?
(Giant Ego project with some practical uses.)
  20. Yes, we will support it and give some funding.
