    19w11a: Completely changed how iron golems spawn, breaking all existing iron farms. Ten or more villagers need to gossip with each other in order for a golem to spawn.

    19w12a: Effectively nerfed iron golem farms again. Villagers must also have used their personal workstation and bed within the past Minecraft day.

  2. I really hate the fact that 1.13 will probably come out after 1.14 comes out, meaning we're going to be super far behind, considering 1.15 is already in talks.

  4. IlMango (the designer of pretty much every single Iron Farm which became popular), says that mining for iron is more efficient than building anything. (in this snapshot)

    From the tests they did, about 3 golems spawn per hour per group of 20 villagers.

    Now Iron Golem Farms are dependent on villager count basically, so it really limits its uses because of the server performance issues they can cause (high entity count).
  5. Just wanted to say that 19w12b is out and chnged the gossip counter from 10->5 to spawn golems(helps nerf but it gives only 90 iron per hour per 20 villagers)

    I also wanted to mention that in 19w12a they made it so you can have multiple protection wnchantments on a single armor... Now GOD armor has Prot 4, Fire Prot 4, Projectile Prot 4... etc

    You can also crouch under a 1 1/2 space now...
  6. This is kinda sick. Especially the crouching thing. Idk if adding multiple protections makes it OP tho...
  7. In my opinion it definitely will. In the past you had to mix and match armor to get a good balance of protection, or go all in on one and be vulnerable to the other two. Now you'll be able to tank anything. Not a good idea.

    "Update: We're now on pre-release 4 and we expect this to be the last pre-release before the full release. We aim to release Village & Pillage for Minecraft: Java Edition on Tuesday, April 23rd."

    Nothing has changed about iron golem or villagers in any of the 1.14 pre-releases.

  11. There is no way they’ll leave it like that. There would be complete uproar. Too many influencial creators will be opposed to it.
  12. This is 1.13 but there are some secret features coming that I've designed a super high XP grinder to surpass randomzh on the xp boards with. muahahahahaha

  15. I wonder what you mean by this: already playing persons will get different preferences and playstyles, or some persons will stop playing and new persons will start?

  17. What’s the point though? This just removes one play style for no reason. If you want to forage for everything you could, and with iron farms you could build giant structures if you wanted which to myself and many others is what Minecraft is all about. The game has not just evolved, it has devolved. I’m not criticizing you, these are just my 2 cents. Minecraft should be a sandbox with near infinite ways to play. I don’t think the redstone community can survive without a steady source of iron, so iron farms will be re implemented at some point. But for now, we have taken a step back in the wrong direction. It’s not even good for the players who like new updates constantly, as if many players decide to leave due to the changes, there is less incentive for mojang to update, which is bad for everyone.

  18. This could be Mojang trying to make it so you don't get iron for being AFK, rather maybe mining for it? (Like the title of the game implies?)

    Nevertheless, players are always going to come and go. The people who played Minecraft in 2010, most anyways, are probably not a Minecraft player anymore. I do not let that have an impact on my gameplay experience, but that's just me.

    1.13 was a mess, in terms of performance and stability. I'm glad to see that 1.14 has polished most of those issues up and you should too. EMC decided to skip 1.13 for a reason, of which I am glad.

  19. I’ve qctually been developing some iron farms for 1.14 during the snapshots and you can make some pretty OP iron farms still. I’ve heard some people have found ways to make even better iron farms than you could before without making it in the spawn chunks. I wouldn’t worry about the iron. That being said, there are quite a few very specific technical mechanics that are being changed for 1.14 and we aren’t really sure what all is possible with them. Who knows? Maybe we will have even more OP farms than before. I’ve already found a couple god tier farms that should work on emc...

  20. Just because a game has something in the title doesn’t mean that’s all the game is about. Minecraft, as stated in many of its descriptions and as I stated, is about having the power to shape the world however you desire. If all you could do in Minecraft was mine and craft it would not have grown to it’s current size. The farming community has and always will be a pillar of the overall community. And, you completely missed my point. Most of the massive builds that power the economy of EMC use tons of iron. I don’t have time to nor should I have to mine it just because mining is in the title of the game.
    Edit: I’m also glad that they decided to be stable but that’s completely not the point here.

    I’d love to hear back from you on that when 1.14 is out :)
