[Update] Macros and Mods Update

Discussion in 'Empire Updates' started by Krysyy, Jul 24, 2017.

  1. Staff Edit: The recipe book is re-enabled.

    Attention:
Due to a recent bug, the recipe book crafting is currently disabled on EMC. In lieu of this, please note the regulations regarding mods. The standing rules regarding these simply states that any crafting cannot bypass vanilla Minecraft ability. Therefore, if you have a mod installed that performs the same functions as the recipe book used to, please feel free to use it. If you notice anything 'off' about this use, or any bugs arise, please stop and notify a staff member immediately.

    Thanks,
    Empire Minecraft Staff

    Regulations for Approved Mods
Some modifications can be multi-functional, with certain features disallowed under EMC rules (see the Rules and Moderation and Using Mods on the Empire pages) but others permissible. Thus, the overall mod itself is listed as approved with some regulations which can be found on this page.

Note that unless listed under Approved Mods or Incompatible Mods, mods must be approved through the Request a Mod page before being used on EMC.

General functions: Macro/Keybind Mod and other automation/scripting mods(top)

    No AFK world interaction(top)

If you are not sitting behind your computer screen and awake, then you are AFK. If reported, staff will attempt to contact you. If you do not answer, then you will be kicked off the server. Interactions with the world in any way while AFK is using mods illegally and will be treated as such.

Macros must not exceed normal play ability(top)

If your macro mod (or other mod) is set to click at 25 times per second, that's not possible when playing legit, vanilla Minecraft. There are now limitations in place to prevent anything greater than 10 clicks per second, but if you find a bypass for this and are caught using fast-clicking or performing any action you would not be able to do without a macro or similar mod, you will be banned for illegal mods.

Macros/automation need to be linked to player action in a one-to-one set up during Villager Trades(top)

If you set up a key to make a trade with a villager, then you need to hit that key for each trade you make. If you trade 25 times, then you need to have pressed that macro key 25 times. Anything more than this is abuse of the system and will be treated as such. If you hit the macro key once and it trades 25 times, that is NOT allowed and you need to modify your macro.

    IMPORTANT: Crafting Mods(top)

Any and all crafting mods may never surpass vanilla Minecraft functionality/capability. If you have a question regarding this, please message pmadmin.emc.gs on the forums.

    IMPORTANT: Schematica printer feature limitation(top)

While Schematica can be used for producing an outline to place blocks in, the Printer function must not be used. This feature automates block-placing, thus violating the above regulations and general EMC rules.

    Map radars(top)

The use of these functions in any way (including, but not limited to, mob and cave hunting) is considered cheating and is thus against EMC rules. Some map mods may require you to disable radar features while others will have them disabled by default. Any mod with constant radar features is not allowed.

EMC allows modifications that don't give an unfair advantage over others.

  2. Thanks for the info.

  4. Of course most of us will be curious now as to what the issue was... but I guess we shouldn't know. ;)
  5. Awesome, thanks for fully clearing it all up Krysyy.

  6. Because the recipe book allowed the player to shift click on an item recipe and it filled the table with as many of its ingredients as possible (up to a stack of items), this would be allowed with macro mods now correct?
  7. I believe this was always allowed (up to 1 full stack). The issues were when crafting an entire inventory with 1 click.
  8. There was/is a mod named OneClickCrafting that allowed crafting a full inventory, which was against the rules; it was/is permitted on EMC anyway with a "no shift-clicking" exception. This basically meant you weren't allowed to use the mod when your inventory was full of sugar canes or melon slices, because there was no "one tableful only" button.

Because of this, I made my "Easier Crafting" mod, which I got approved on EMC while 1.11 was still a thing. I updated to 1.12, but didn't expect many people to use it, because, well, there's the 1.12 crafting. You can click to craft one item, or shift-click to craft one full table, but never more with just one click.

So, even though that's self-advertising, I invite you to check out https://mods.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/265956-easiercrafting - it was approved with 1.11 so you certainly can use it now.

Edit: Ouchies. Seems I uploaded the 1.12 version as beta when I did, so people weren't able to see it.

I just corrected this, fixed a small bug with 2x2 recipes, and updated to the currently recommended version of forge (14.21.1.2387). It will take a few hours until curse has approved the file, though.

If you're in a hurry, you can download from my github at https://github.com/gbl/EasierCrafting/releases/tag/1.1-forge14.21.1.2387 - this is the same file that's uploaded to curse as well.
  9. Nah, in this case I'd say it's helping out the community. I'd really rather use a mod from one of our own members than some vague weird thingie which may (or may not) turn out to have nasty side effects. I'll definitely check this one out later, may even do a small review to point others to it (no promises!).

  10. Only thing I have noticed is the concrete powder just flicks between all the colours so I have to place the ingredients into the crafting table as before. Other than that I have not noticed anything.
  11. I haven't noticed any bugs...

when you can make more than one color of concrete, wool, etc. it flicks through colors so you have to click it either just right or take the other dye out of your inventory until it's ready to use, it's not a bug

  12. What is the problem and is it going to be enabled again?
(I'm a bit lazy when it comes to testing and installing mods...)
  13. It causes things that aren't supposed to happen to happen.
Yes, it will be re-enabled once the developers get a patch in place.

  15. FYI, I fixed the underlying bug, plan is to deploy it tomorrow night which will re-enable the recipe book.

Chickeneer Edit: this has been deployed. It is issue free. But as always, find a bug; report it to the dev team. https://pmdev.emc.gs/
  16. Awesome sauce. You guys rock!
Now, back to your usual programming.

  17. I never got around to asking but to clarify what is a "trade" considered as.

If I have a villager who takes 8 pumpkins for 1 emerald, then i put in 64 pumpkins and shift click 8 emeralds out is that one trade or 8 trades? Its 1 set of items but it gives 8x the emeralds of the original minimal trade.

  18. If you can trade a stack in 1 shot, it's allowed. It's when you tear through multiple stacks over many trades but only pressing 1 key to do it all. That's what's not allowed.
