I think it was mentioned that they would still be infinite in town but not waste or wild anymore. So if you use a promo it's on you to make sure it's not a promo or worth the loss
I just a have cabin with no windows and place 2 blocks with /buildmode in front of the door. That's were I keep all my chests.......Still haven't figured a way to stop someone from eating chorus fruit to gain entry. Though when I eat the fruit to teleport in i have to eat nearly a stack of it for it to work properly.
If somebody brings a stack of chorus fruit in order to teleport into a secret location, that means it is no longer just a regular griefing. This player knows about your storage, because you or somebody you told had told them about it. And they planned ahead and prepared a sneaky way to get in. While I have only been staff for a short time compared to others on the team, in my experience most griefings are just random acts carried out by inexperienced, newer players. For the most part, if your outpost is moderately hidden and you keep the location secret enough, and only tell the trusted few, you should be good. The only time the situation you describe happens is when somebody in your "trusted few" breaks that trust, for whatever reason.
What if we don't move ourselves back to town? Will we simply die? Because I wouldn't mind that. That is fortunately not going to be possible:
Sorry for a small deviation here but... I think you might be assuming a bit much here. I've been using chorus fruit a lot with nether mining as of late; it can be an ideal (and inexpensive) way to get out of a lava problem. Same applies to being peskered by a group of mobs: sometimes a chorus fruit is all you need to break their lock on you so that you can regain some health and try again (of course, sometimes it can also be the biggest fail ever ). With that in mind I'm not too sure that you can always associate having a lot of chorus on you with being prepared to grief. I'm pretty sure you guys look out for more signs than that, but still wanted to mention it. Of course: it doesn't take away from the fact that if you see a completely locked and sealed off structure in the wild then you should know better than to try and get in like that. For starters: the simple question of how you're going to get out again?
A question to ideally EMC Staff: Why is Monday the common day to reset the Wastelands? Any particular reason? (Ex: The 1.9 Update was on Memorial Day, a Monday.)
The admins have real lives and real families that like to bug us to 'spend time with them' on the weekends. Monday is a nice start to the new week (and an easy day to take off work if needed). Oh, and Aikar has this thing about not rebooting the server when too many players are online.
Having a stack of chorus fruit would not be taken as a sign of a possible griefer, but having a stack of chorus fruits on you when caught griefing inside a closed off structure would show intent.
I haven't extensively tested this, but from the short amount of trials I did with chorus fruit, I think a player won't be able to teleport (via Chorus Fruit) onto a block covered with water. So as long as there isn't enough space for a player to TP onto a chest (half slab, steps, leaves or do every other chest with a trapped chest, to close the gaps) and you've covered the walking space with water, I don't believe a player will be able to TP into the room with a Chorus fruit. But again... I would recommend thoroughly testing the concept further, before following through with it.
Sometimes i see nice things. like the sheep on SMP9. That it's really a shame the did build it in waste and not in frontier.
In the past you have been auto-teleported back to town on log-in. I cannot say for certain if that's what will happen, but I see no reason for it to have changed.
Those messages are giving you a warning it is coming. Once the day is confirmed you will get a message saying exactly when it will occur.
