Once the Event is complete, the portal you used to enter will go away. Also, portal locations will change at a regular period of time (to constantly keep them fresh in the wild). Finding a portal will be a difficult task in itself.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for bearing with us while we looked into the things that were broken by the 1.3 update. Aikar found a huge part of what was causing the problem and we pushed an update to all servers today. As far as we can tell the following issues seem to have been taken care of for the most part:

• Disappearing pistons
• Strange rollbacks from chests, inventories & residences
• Furnaces and brewing stands are now working in town again
• Some minor lag issues should be less noticeable

Of course we can't promise everything is okay in the world of Minecraft (will we ever be able to? lol) but as far as we know we're on the right path to things being normal again. We of course will be keeping a close eye on things and always looking to improve where we can.

For now, we know that everyone lost a lot of things due to this update and unfortunately can't replace every individual thing lost, but we are putting up a 1.3 Recovery Rupee Fund until Tuesday at midnight (Eastern Time).


We were going to have the fund be 1.3K rupees for the 1.3 update, but I think we're feeling a little dyslexic today and accidently made it 3.1K.

Edit 8/24/12 (11:00PM EST): It appears a few people are still experiencing the disappearing issue for items. Please be careful with doing anything major yet until we get it figured out. We are getting...

Contest Description:

Beginning on September 15th, 2012, eight teams of four members each will put everything on the line to prove that they have what it takes to survive in the unforgiving wilderness of SMP1. These fearless adventurers will pit their skills against each other to see who can be the first to travel 50,000 blocks from the wilderness spawn.

How You can be a Part of This Epic Adventure:

1. Find a team with an open slot and see if you have what it takes!
2. Slots all full, or you're too busy? Consider donating prizes to this fantastic competition.
Rupees, items, tools or diamonds would make these adventurers smile! Maybe some of the new
emeralds would be a fine prize to celebrate their achievements? Get creative and share in the
adventure your own way.

Acknowledgement and Donation...

As you all probably know (or don't yet) we are now 1.3 on all our servers. There are likely to be bugs/glitches galore as there is with every MC update, so have patience while we go through them all. The major updates should all be working okay though, including villager trading and ender chests. Enderchests are individual per person no matter where you open them. We could all look in the very same enderchest on the same residence and will all have a different inventory. We plan on making some unique updates to our vault/enderchest system in the near future if we can work out some things, so keep an eye out for that.

While they don't yet work, we WILL be adding enderchests to the LOCK system for the wild. This of course would prevent the stealing of the enderchest...even though it wouldn't affect the inventory at all for you.

If there are any other bugs or glitches you find please report them here. If you find any MAJOR glitches such as duplication or things like that please contact us in private via a conversation and don't tell others/abuse it.

As a side note, the server host we were with were having a heck of a time finding the errors in our database server, so we opted in for a brand new one. We should be problem free (for example: The "Join Now For Access" messages) from errors that crash us every now and then.

1. The video must be filmed on EMC*. It can be in the form of a lets play, advert ect.
2. All the commandments must be followed at all times. For example; swearing must be edited/beeped out.
3. You're allowed to use mics so that viewers can hear you, but this isn't required.
4. At some point in your video, a link to Empire.us (this may be your referral link) must be shown on screen. This must be edited/placed on a sign ect. - not done in an annotation.
5. Don't mention names of other servers.
6. Edit the video how you like. I recommend downloading the 30 day free trial of Camtasia Studio 8 although any editing software works.
7. Play nice. Don't call someone else's video rubbish, you wouldn't like it.

Happy Birthday Empire Minecraft! One year ago today, a small group of friends with a private server that was growing beyond their control, was formed into the beginning of what you now know as Empire Minecraft! It was an emotional moment for some. We had to destroy our current creations in our residences (that we had to manually set by hand for each one) and go through the teleporter into what is now known as "Town". The next day, We signed into EmpireMinecraft.com for the very first time and opened ourselves up to the public. For the first month, we went NUTS when we had 30 people on at a time. It was amazing and scary. We made our first post on PlanetMinecraft.com and got to deal with and ban our very first griefers. The first griefed creation was a "Slime God Temple" which was made by belchmaster and Beardswell. It was within viewing distance of the spawn, a mistake that at the time we didn't know was a mistake, haha. Today we stand at over 40,000 members strong and still growing at an awesome pace!
