  3. This issue was Mojang's auth servers

  4. players getting kicked from several EMC servers, several times
  5. Issue is being investigated currently. Try direct connecting to games.emc.gs; that seems to be working for some.

  7. Posting by request of Tbird1128 / Harliquine
/v +harli on smp7 has issues growing 2x2 jungle trees since the 1.16 update.
Some trees will not grow even you use more than a stack of bonemeal.

I tested in single player and have found the same issue.
Using worldedit I deleted all vines from the area and found that has fixed the issue.

    https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-193318
    Apparently its a regression.
It was fixed 8 years ago but suddenly popped back up in 1.16.

I know y'all have patched Mojang bugs before, do ya feel like tackling this one?

  8. It's relating to this bug https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-112975 and https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-8187
  9. Not saying no. But it is low priority. It would take time :)

  10. Actually. I don't really see the issue. As of this time, I don't understand the issue - so I don't think I could even look at debugging it.
  11. Ah, well figured that may be the case, thank you anyway.
Hope Mojang fixes it one day :D
  12. Infinite lighting glitch. Doesn't matter how many times I relog or re-teleport, I can't see anything at all. Lighting blocks light up only their own block. I am on 1.16.4.
  13. Report those areas to https://pmss.emc.gs -- that was a lighting issue, separate from the teleport lighting glitch, caused by a bad Paper build however many months ago.
As a temporary solution, the Fabric mod Starlight should alleviate the issue on the client-side; it's on the Incompatible Mods wiki page (but it tends to work client-side for me).
  14. ive been having this issue playing on vanilla instances as well. its not fixed
  15. EMC specifically has two lighting glitches that I know of; one is caused by teleporting and can be fixed by switching servers, and the other is caused by being unlucky and having those chunks with bad lighting data being loaded when there was a bad Paper build being used for a few hours, and can only be solved by asking an SS to fix it. Steaming's issue was the latter

  16. I, Midnight just got back from a long 1-year break from EMC because of the crashes. My first time coming back was around last Monday? No crashes, but since I got into the game I keep getting "Timed Outs" which is "cool" because last year I had alot of java errors.

My internet is not the best but any other server I go to, no crashes :( and when I get kick out of EMC for crashes (with the same internet), my other apps and games are working just fine. No internet cut out.

*Today* Smp7 was super laggy for me, so I *hid* on Smp4 and no crashes until I jinx it :( I just want the nonstopping crashes to stop and to go away forever :(
I can't even speak in chat without crashing now
  17. This is not a server issue.
That being said, it sounds like there are dropped packets between you and the server (a similar thing has been happening with unixbrain); you can try contacting your ISP and see if they can get a technician out to try and figure out the problem.

  18. unixbrain and MrzMidnight worked together and concluded that this is the issue. :)

  19. Yep.
We wiresharked her connection and saw tons of TCP Duplicate ACKs, Retransmissions and Resets.
Just like mine when I had an issue with my internet.

Minecraft is especially sensitive to latency, packet loss and the above issues.
Loading sites in general, YouTube, speedtests, and many other platforms are more tolerant and manage to stay responsive despite TCP DUP ACKs and retransmissions.

Running a speedtest on my network showed 400Mbps dl 20Mbps ul 40ms ping which is within expected range, however wireshark showed a flurry of retransmissions during the speedtest.

In my case, my ISP sent a tech out, and after using some test equipment on the utility pole, the tech said the signal quality on the main trunk was pretty dirty as well as being the last house on the end of the line.
He then put in a request for someone to investigate further, and possibly redo some cable equipment in the street.
Not sure if they did anything but my internet seems to be stable so far, though it has had its cycles of behaving for a while then going bad.
I never had these issues on FTTH networks, only on cable :\

( FTTH = Fiber to the Home, see also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiber_to_the_x )
  20. Latency issues? Oh boy.

I'll be honest, I'll take a bit of latency issues over what Valve does with their games. People with much different latencies can play, but the "Valve Lag Compensation" can be quite tiresome to play with.

For those of you who do not play Valve's games, essentially, the client renders the models that are not in alignment with what the server says the model's hitbox is actually located. TF2, CSGO, (etc) are great examples of this. Even if you have perfect ping, and even if the server has perfect ping, the person with the lowest ping will cause this to become more issue to be more prevalent than not.

I'm aware that this is totally unrelated to what's going on, but I'll put up with Minecraft's issues than how Valve handles it in their own games, because at least Minecraft's lag/latency issues do not offset the models and hitboxes. :)
