[FORUM GAME] New Nations

  1. The Federation is pouring massive moneies into increasing roads and traveling ways results in 5 posts
  2. SEU should be making a crap ton of money with all of their goods, they make 46% of all Industrial Goods in the World. The second most is barely half that amount, 18%, namely India. And then the next most is the SNE, with 11%. The Sunayyad Caliphate is 8%, UBR 3%. The rest of the world adds up to a measly 12%. There are a lot of factors responsible for this; however it's mostly that these guys are the ones that can command the most resources, manpower and allies.
But SEU isn't making money out of the Country. This is complicated by their strict anti-tax haven laws (and their willingness to invade and annex any prolific tax havens).
So SEU is making the Belt Initiative. The Belt Initiative will link the transportation infrastructures of all participants together, allowing for better Economic Cooperation. A giant belt of trade running through Asia.

A Russia-Sized problem awaits them: effectively, from the SEU Industrial Heartland and 80% of GDP (which is larger than both India and the rest of the Soviet Union put together) is separated from Europe by a massive stretch of Desert and Wasteland. There aren't even any half-decent roads. Yeah, that's problematic.
So SEU is making roads, and rail. They'll install many self-destruct mechanisms to guard themselves against threats, but only at parts because those things require maintenance and are expensive. They are gambling that the inhabitability of Siberia will prohibit Airbases (this is right) and make supply lines difficult (less right, like 50% right), and that the economic benefits will allow SEU to effectively wage war, and that the infrastructure can be used when SEU strikes back, after 2 years of being beaten up by whatever enemy.
  3. Caliphate railway system:
    Red: Complete or under construction
Green: International railway connected to Caliphate
Lime Green: Railway given permission to join Caliphate
Black: Proposed future railways, may or may not happen, but a suggestion in the works, would need a lot of permission with other nations though.

These railways are the most important source of the Caliphate's wealth, and a very impressive feat, any nation who had ties to the railway would prosper greatly. It does come at a cost though, a cost which has costed insane amounts of money and resources, being big in the Caliphate's budget beside the military and defense.

Again, the Caliphate's railway system is extravagant and increases the logistical supply and demand of the empire by a lot, not only are they able to distribute troops WHEREVER in the Caliphate, making them the greatest at defense, they also have trade routes going through every key area, making the Caliphate a massive trading force. (Mostly in their own land, foreign papers always underestimate the Caliphate in every way possible, the Caliphate is seen as a desert full of men with turbans and camels)
  4. The Caliphate wants to expand trade with The Federation and strengthen their relationship. In doing so, the Caliphate gains extreme benefits from the Pro-Caliphate Prime Minister in Canada's parliament, a PM who is also loved by the people. Canada provides the Caliphate with a ton of natural resources, and even The Federation.

The USA however is quite useless.

The Caliphate asks for home appliances, televisions, radio equipment and computing technology from the UBR. Even if they side with the SEU, the Caliphate prefers the UBR as a friendly nation instead of their warmonger brethren.
The Caliphate delves into computing technology, they have before, but it is a greater amount now.

However, the Caliphate's economy is struggling greatly and they are nearing debt. The railway costed a lot, HOWEVER, the amount of profit the Caliphate has made off the railway is insane, even if they spent millions, they gained billions, but they are still dropping, the civil war has taken a toll, and Ibn Saud has called for a new budget plan and less spending.

Ibn Saud waits for the golden age... He doesn't realize he won't be alive by that time, and in actuality, he won't be alive much longer... It is only time before Ashqar and his rebels take over the throne and destroy Wahhabism... It will come... very quickly...
  5. The Federation accepts trade

  6. SEU has finally introduced an effort to create a new, unified, Socialist currency. SEU wants the Soviet Union to use this as well. It is the HHVCSSSSS. Yes, that is very complicated because SEU had to list down every single SEU and UBR component state's word for Socialism so SEU has just asked everybody to use the word Soci, because none of the ethnic groups (Koreans, Chinese, Polish, Finnish and Russians. Australians and most of the other smaller ethnic groups have no dog in this fight.) could agree on what word to use and SEU decided to use English as a compromise solution, being the smallest ethnic group and that of Australians. It is based off the Gold Standard; however in cases where enemies of SEU and if accepted Soviet Union may attempt to release massive amounts of Gold to destroy the currency, SEU and possibly the Soviet Union will switch to a "Government Standard", which is basically SEU/USSR-Speak for "the Government pretends the Gold market hasn't collapsed".
India is too tired to do anything as of now; SEU has taken full advantage of this and pulled Vietnam out of their faction and introduced them into the Soviet Union; Vietnam has always had strong Chinese Influence, (and strong Indian
influence, so they fight to get it onto their side.).
Kim Koo has been ousted by Stalin. Then Stalin immediately dies, and the Chinese man Mao Zedong takes the lead, with his trusted right-hand man, Deng Xiaoping. Mao's governing ability is... questionable. However, Deng is an excellent statesman and would make a good leader. The Founder, now old decides that Politics are no longer in his taste and retires. He's 49, and he's been retired for a while now as a farmer. So that's a bit odd.
    Wait, what?
    He came back?
As in, the Founder? The sole surviving member of the Founding Four? (OOC: Australian guy is not dead; he faked it to get away from assassins/fans and is actively working with the Founder.)
This is... big news. He has been seen alive twice in the last 20 years, and he's got beef with Ibn Saud. He proclaims "I though that Caliph fellow was bad, you're worse.". This is personal, by the way. The Founder attempted to defeat the House of Saud long ago, but he was soundly beaten by Ibn Saud.
  7. Ibn Saud announces The Founder as a worthless back-seat leader, founding a great nation, then leaving to farm in the mountains, leaving his nation to rot in rivalry between themselves, while Ibn Saud does the best he can to strengthen the nation (in social politics, he sucks, but in business he's great).

Persia decides to join the Ashqar Rebels and supply them, due to their Shia Muslim majority, they feel as if the Arab state directly opposes them as a Sunni majority following Wahhabi ideals. They are not happy, and thus create supply lines, checkpoints and even supply troops behind Ibn Saud's back.

The Musafhki parliament is breaking, most members aren't even acknowledged and have fallen in a pit of irrelevancy. The people of Algeria and Libya are very angry, as their regional representative is fired and replaced with an Arab one, not an African one.

Iberia is fighting Ibn Saud too, they hate the misrepresentation and lack of regard and feel like they are treated as another border line, thus, they take to the streets to protest directly at the Embassy of the Saud, and even throw rocks at it.
  8. The UBR will participate, and the USSR can manage our rails if you'd like, however we would like to manage our own roadways. (I'm still developing the list, just give me a few hours.)
The UBR is going to use this new currency.
The UBR believes that trade with the Caliphate will be a very significant and beneficial thing to do, so we accept.

  9. [I don’t expect you to read this entire post, it’s fine if you don’t.]
the New Highway System of the UBR
There are 4 classes of road:
    • A-class roads: Expressways; freeways; large scenic routes
    • B-class roads: Regionally important roads (Highways)
    • C-class roads: Urban roads; minor paved roads
    • D-class roads: Unpaved roads; farm roads; private roads
A-class roads fall under jurisdiction of the federal government, B under the jurisdiction of the individual country, and C & D under the any municipality the roads are in. I’ve created a list of A-class roads and major cities it goes through.
    • Highway AN, Bothnian Baltic Route: Hugs the coast of the Baltic. Starts in Malmö, going thru Stockholm, Gävle, Sundsvall, Umeå, Luleå, Oulu, Vaasa, Pori, Turku, Helsinki, and ends in Kotka.
    • Highway AS, Southern Baltic Route: Hugs the coast of the Baltic. Starts in Narva, going thru Tallinn, Haapsalu, Pärnu, Riga, Jürmala, Ventspils, Liepāja, Palamga, Klaipėda, New Kaliningrad (in the still-being-constructed Gdanski Polder), Wladyslawowo, Ustka, Darlowo, Kolobrzeg, and ends in Swinoujscie.
      • Highway AS2, Kaliningrad Highway: Goes from New Kaliningrad to Kaliningrad and then ends in Kaunas.
    • Highway A2, the Tallinn-Helsinki Highway: Mostly a large bridge. Starts in Tallinn, going thru (the still-being-constructed) Tallinlane Polder, and becoming a bridge for about 40km before becoming a normal highway again near the village of Porkkala. From there, it goes to Kirkkonummi, before following the route that current-day highway 51 takes up to Helsinki (where it ends).
    • Highway A3, Highway Finland: Starts in Helsinki, going thru Hämeenlinna, Tampere, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Oulu, and ends in Rovaniemi.
      • Highway A32, Southern Highway Finland: Connects Turku to Tampere.
    • Highway A4, Highway Sweden: Starts in Luleå, going thru Storuman, Östersund, Mora, Karlstad, Gothenburg and ends in Malmö.
      • Highway A42, Southern Highway Sweden: Starts in Gothenburg, going thru Jönköping, Linköping, Norrköping, and semi-ends in Nyköping, where it starts to run concurrent with Highway AN until Stockholm.
    • Highway A5, the Thunderbolt Highway (called this due to its shape): Starts in Tallinn, going thru Pärnu, Tartu, Vōru, Rēzekne, Daugavpils, and ends in Vilnius.
    • Highway A6, Highway Lambda: Starts in Daugavpils, going thru Ogre, Riga, Jelgava, Šiauliai, and ends in Kryžkalnis, where it ends at Highway A7.
    • Highway A7, Highway Lithuania: Starts in Klaipėda, going thru Kaunas and ending in Vilnius.
    • Highways A8 and A9 are reserved

  10. The Caliphate doesn't respect a lot of rival nations, but one of them for sure is the UBR.

Their road system is the most complex, the most advanced and the most maintained in the world.
The Caliphate has a few roads to match the UBR, but that is only few, only the main ones in big urban areas, while the rest of the roads are basically ripping through desert, mountain or forest, and they aren't kept that well, at least before the point of splitting in half.

The SEU has the worse conditions of roads, especially since a lot of them go through Siberia and face miles of corrosion from rain, mud and nature, something the Caliphate faces little of.

  11. SEU's inner city roads are fine, they might not be super good (mainly because they were hastily built. A lot of SEU things are undergoing intense scrutiny because they were hastily built for the great industrialization.) and within the Russian and Chinese-Korean landmasses the roads are fine (they are in fact modeled after UBR, SEU has learned a lot from them). It's in Siberia that problems start to arise, and SEU has built the roads to be extremely sturdy for this exact reason, or else they would have to constantly go back and fix things.
SEU's incredibly fast industrialization came at many prices; it was a good deal, don't get me wrong. But it will give SEU many headaches for the future, it had a terrible effect on the environment.
  12. SEU's government stance on disagreement:
    • Small-Scale, Individual disagreement (ex: A guy submits a report to the Socialist Party saying that their new project has many flaws): Ok and encouraged. It just so happens that with zero scrutiny from something other than themselves, their projects tend to fail.
    • Large-Scale, Individual disagreement (ex: A guy thinks the Socialist Party sucks and should be destroyed): Discouraged but not illegal, as long as you don't act on it.
    • Small-Scale, Collective disagreement (ex: A lot of people think that this new project sucks and should be scrapped): Ok. SEU will negotiate with them and figure out their demands, and will attempt to integrate it as best they can.
    • Large-Scale, Collective disagreement (ex: A lot of people saying "down with the SEU!"): Immediate and brutal crackdown.
    • Large-Scale, National disagreement (ex: the entire nation saying "down with the SEU!"): Immediate capitulation to all demands.
SEU's whole war strategy revolves around stretching the conflict to the point where they become unstoppable. That's their plan in a nutshell; they command massive amounts of men, resources and industry and can take massive damage and shrug it off like it was nothing. So the solution would be to defeat them in build-up within 2 years, because at full power they could take 40-50 nukes and keep fighting, albiet with greatly reduced fighting potential. No one else could survive that. So yeah, defeat them fast. That is the solution.
  13. CODENAME: PLAN DEAD HAND
    Introduction
Dead Hand is a system to wage Nuclear war, and to prevent accidental Nuclear War. This system is a method to make sure that SEU and other Nuclear powers do not accidentally destroy each other. Dead Hand has been engineered by SEU's finest minds to maximize damage against the enemy in real war and to minimize the chances of actual Nuclear War should it be accidental.
    Dead Hand Component: Prevention
The prevention component is designed to make sure that even if there is a malfunction of sensors designed to make sure SEU does not launch its missiles without an actual attack. For example, the Dead Hand Headquarters in each city are linked to a network of sensors that send signals to indicate Nuclear Weapons have attacked the city. These sensors must have at least 75% agreement that the city was destroyed to count as a "Ye". Anything else is a "Nay". There are currently 15 "Dead Hand" Cities. They are as follows: Beijing, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Moscow, Volgograd, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Seoul, Busan, Minsk, and Sydney. In addition, there are 4 additional officials that need to be contacted. The People's Leader of the Socialist Eurasian Union, the Minister of Defense and Warfare, the Vice People's Leader, and the Speaker of the People's Congress. At least 3 of the 4 must authorize a strike, and the number of "Dead Hand" cities and officials that agree that Nuclear Strike has occurred must be equal to or above 11 to launch a Nuclear Strike. In the event that these officials cannot be reached within 10 minutes, this is the line of succession: The Minister of Foreign Relations, Minister of Healthcare and well-being, The Pro Tempore of the People's Congress, and the Minister of the Secretary. Should this line of succession too become unreachable in another 10 minutes, then the Dead Hand cities will vote independently and launch when 8 Cities vote "Ye". Failing to respond will be counted as "Ye" in the Dead Hand cities, under the assumption their lines of communication have been severed or they have been destroyed, both signs of a Nuclear War. All four officials carry around a remote communications device at all times, and the Dead Hand Headquarters use an encoded Telephone. All of them have 1/19th of the text string needed to open the miniature vault containing the launch codes. Any combination of at least 11/19ths of the text string will allow unlocking. Upon opening the Vault, the codes can be broadcasted to every Silo and the 3 officers will decide to launch the Missiles or not. The 3 must be in unanimous agreement.
    Dead Hand Component: War
Dead Hand is also a name for a plan of war.
The plan is as follows: first-priority targets are leadership locations. Second-priority targets are Submarine/Destroyer bases and Industrial locations. These two are to be attacked before attacking any civilian targets, and civilian target attack is to be limited if possible. Nuclear Bombs are to be air-dropped onto crucial locations. As it is likely 90% of Air attack will fail, SEU will be able to drop at best 30-40 bombs according to the 400-bomb and growing arsenal. As such, SEU is to deploy many Tu-4 and Tu-100s as decoys and to confuse the enemy defenses as to the true targets of the Raids.
  14. ooc: how much is 1 Soci worth, Warlord?
  15. The caliphate is nearly 1 year close to finishing the pipeline from Jordan to Morocco, the money is running out however, and the Caliphate goes to private mega-companies to receive money.

The Caliphate orders 500 new fast firing rocket launching artillery... So much for that little cost spending budget.

Through all of the ideologies in the social revolution, only a few spark out from the rest as legitimate futures.

    Houshang Khaledi - Persian
Believes that power should be in the hands of the people, and a large amount of parliament members, along with legaslatives, political parties, and elections.

    Wajeeb al-Soltani - Arab
Believes that the role of the Caliph should only be as a religious leader, not a governmental one.

    Waseem al-Mattar - Arab
Believes that total power should be in the hands of the Caliph, as long as they are well educated, a good leader and fit for service. They should gain power not by force, but by being chosen by a high-ranking Clergy or the previous Caliph.

    Mutlaq al-Amini - Arab
Believes that every Muslim nation should run under Wahhabism, with Sharia Law and Jihad as the main factors. He believes that doing this keeps the religion of Islam pure, and that all enemies and oppressors should be killed.

    Ashqar Ayyad - Arab
Believes that the role of Caliph should be a humble one, meaning that the Caliph should not indulge in self luxury and wealth, but be at the same level as the people and act as a leader. (He also believes that he is the rightful reign to the role of Caliph).
(Basically in full support by SEU already)

    Mehmet Ali Sari - Turkish
Believes that the Caliph should work with a parliamentary government to decide decisions on the country. The Caliph should be more of a "presidential" role.

    Aïn Defka - Algerian
Believes that the Caliphate should represent more provinces of their regime.

Each one of these great minds looks out for international support from every nation, from the UBR, SNE, TBF, SEU and Federation.
OOC: Pick one that you like the most. It probably won't affect anything, and supplying them with military aid would just be useless, but international support boosts their name a lot and possibility of joining office, meaning, YOU, could decide the Caliphate's fate.

They all plan to meet at Casablanca in Morocco to discuss, the safest and least war torn city in the Caliphate.
  16. Ashqar and his rebels conquer the Iraq government, and are now in full fighting force with the Caliphate military. Slowly, they begin to lose land 10 miles a day, but the SEU gave them time with air dropping supplies.

Ashqar's Rebels plan on taking control of the Persian Gulf and then invading Mecca to kill Ibn Saud. They aren't a weak fighting force, they have multiple MBT-10 Omega's and M4A3E8 Saladin's, as well as AK-47's and M3 Sahkra's with adequate vehicles, artillery, and even a small air force.
They fight in the mountains of the desert, strengthening guerrilla warfare and causing the centre of the Saudi Caliphate to flip upside down.
  17. CITIZENSHIP OF THE UBR
Below outlined are the requirements of becoming a citizen of the United Baltic Republic. If someone falls under one or more of the criteria below, they are automatically a citizen.
    • You were born in Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kaliningrad, or Poland
    • You were born to at least one parent citizen of the UBR
    • You participated in at least 9 years of education in the UBR
    • You are a citizen of another country and have lived in the UBR for more than 60% of your life, granting you dual citizenship
    • You are a citizen of another country and have lived in the UBR for more than 5 continuous years, granting you dual citizenship
    • You have renounced previous citizenship(s) or do not have citizenship of any country and have lived in the UBR for 5 years or more
    • Be approved by the National or Country Assembly with a majority, regardless of other restrictions
    • Be someone who is escaping oppression of another country as a refugee
Requirements of being a citizen include:
    • Knowing and being somewhat fluent in at least one official language of the UBR OR be a diplomat for another country OR have a special exemption from the Country or National Assembly OR be mentally or physically challenged
    • The ability to name the current Prime Minister of the UBR (except for persons under the age of 16) OR being part of the Saami or other minority tribal group OR be mentally or physically challenged
  18. 1 Soci is roughly equal to 1 Dollar in that year.
Its value fails to change very often; thanks to the gold standard, that is. The Soci is backed by the Soviet Economic Juggernaut and the Gold Standard, making it a top choice as a reserve currency. This is very intentional.
    wafflecoffee likes this.
  19. SEU provides the Ashqar Rebels with the new Soci currency, which is very stable. Caliphate Currency is prone to instability, but the Soci's value stays relatively the same. The Soci has proven an interesting choice; while it has downsides such as preventing a Credit-Based Economy, it prevents excessive risk and makes it a top choice for reserve currencies worldwide. Most of the Soviet component states are now well developed nations, and SEU plans to make the Soviet Union a very exclusive club for Socialists.

  20. --OOC: For the next few days, I'm just going to be doing some really random things to improve the UBR. If you don't read these, I don't mind. They aren't important, and won't alter any foreign relations or the game itself. Anywho...

An idea by a politician has been gaining traction recently. It is called the Municipal Consolidation Movement. In most cities, municipal services are strewn randomly around the area. This movement calls for a central, new structure to be created in each city that houses most municipal services and for older service buildings to be sold or destroyed for newer projects. These new buildings, called "Central City Centers", or 3C, would house most municipal services. There have been a variation of designs, however one design has been garnering attention. It houses a fire station, a police station with a holding cell, a small medical center, a post office, a parking lot, bus lot, a public library, a courtroom, an information center, and plenty of offices for other city departments. The layout across cities would be fairly uniform so that tourists and visiting people can have an idea of where to go if they are lost or need services. It has 5 floors; the Ground Floor, housing the info center, police station, holding cell, fire station, and medical center; the Basement, holding the parking lot and bus lot; the Lower Basement, holding the library and the courtroom; and above-ground Floors 2 and 3, with many offices. The city of Lublin has passed a resolution to build one of these as an experiment. If it succeeds, an MNA originally from Lublin has agreed to recommend and suggest a bill to fund creation of these buildings in major cities. In the meantime, we will have to see how the Lublin project goes.
