New Kalmar has founded the Kalmar Health Service, or KHS for short. It will allow New Kalmarian citizens to receive healthcare paid for through taxes, free prescriptions, free eye tests, and free dental care until the citizen is above eighteen years of age. They have also made it so that people who were born within New Kalmarian borders are able to receive free adult education (university), and NK citizens have to continue their education through college until they're eighteen. They have also announced that children whose parents receive under £0.46 an hour will receive free meals in school, and that they hope to inflate the economy by 9.77% in the years until 1950.

Sebia has decided to follow suit and is doing the same as New Kalmar. The Sebia Health Service, or SKS for short has now been founded. Education is also paid through taxes, and Sebia has now bought in a new grant system to allow less wealthy students go to University. We will also be rolling out free school meals if their parents earn less than $0.50. We expect this to inflate the economy by about 15.17% in the years until 1953. The reason for the predicted inflation rate being higher than New Kalmar is that Sebia has a lot more land and people (Sebia being the largest nation on the planet. Bigger than the European Commonwealth).

The Ministry of Space has tested out their plane that is supposed to break the sound barrier - it failed horribly. The takeoff proved no challenge at all - when it came to building up speed, the wings both came off and the plane crash-landed, severely injuring the pilot. He died the next morning in hospital. TMOS are currently looking into the exact details of how the wing separated from the plane. Despite this, the NK government has began to invest the proper completion of this plane, and has approved the development of a so-called 'SpacePlane', which, assuming the breaking of the sound barrier is completed within the next year, should begin construction in 1951, be completed by 1953 and will be the second step to getting a New Kalmarian citizen into space. Two proposed 'satellite' ideas have also been taken into account by the government, and they will receive a 'resolution' next year.

Its 1946. The first satellite isn't launched for another 11 years in the real-world timeline. I'll allow satellites to be launched in 1956 (18 pages), to keep it as close to the IRL timeline as possible. This is in place just so that this doesn't go down the way of the original NN, which ended up being horribly unbalanced, unrealistic and unfair.
The SEAA implements an optional year long basic military training for all high school students in grade 12. Completing this training grants the student a 5000SED (South East Dollar) scholarship to any national college, university, or trade school. The hope with this is that it will increase national defence while also boosting education.

Sebia would like to work with the USSR on a space program. We currently have NACA which was started in 1915.
The ER has officially announced its space program. It aims to get a person to space by 1960. Construction of a launch site on the equator has begun and will be finished in 9 posts. The ER will be willing to lease launch pads to other nations wishing to launch from this launch site due to its prime position on the equator. The ER is also interested in joining the UN.
