RUM's leader fear-mongers more about how the SEU is going to attack RUM and that RUM should "beef up" it's military so we can be prepared for defense if needed. Though, as always, this is merely red meat for the base, but... they eat it up and gets everyone (who is not in support of the leader) worried. No one wants to increase military spending from almost 0% to an amount where it looks like RUM is trying to "aggravate others". As the midterm elections comes closer, more socialist candidates come forward and starts exposing how insane RUM's leadership is. They propose ideas such as socialized healthcare, education, public TV, and more peaceful relations with other nations. These radical ideas scare RUM residents as things have been capitalist for a long long time. Though... people are not willing to put up with the leader for another term. Quite a grey area as some residents agree that RUM is in a horrible state, while others are complacent. All we can do is wait and hope that they spread the word so that the government can "stand up" to the leader.
The Tu-SR-64 has come into service. Tupolev, having exceeded the planned budget by around 550%, has exceeded expectations and delivered quite quickly. They perform exceptionally; they can fly with impunity around Caliphate and Italian Airspace with little regard for being found; their stealthy features make them hard to detect and if they are found they simply outrun the Missiles at Mach 3. SEU's Su-RC-2 Spy Planes (U-2s) pale in comparison. Tupolev has really outdone themselves this time. SEU tries to bring their bloc into line by orderin DRC and South Africa to GET ALONG. They have stronger enemies like NAE.
Brazil is beefing up their nuclear arsenal and playing big boy in South America. 50 new X-6 missiles from the SCRAF were ordered and immediately had warheads equipped, enough to make a statement. The Caliphate's nuclear arsenal is in a dilemma, as the current decade sees them receiving less Uranium imports than normal. For some reason Canada and Niger haven't significantly contributed to the exportation process, but have now been expanding their mining greatly to the request of the Caliphate. To counter the Tu-SR-64, designs are being consulted for a new stealth aircraft, however it wont be until nearly 3 years or more until a solid result in found, unfortunately. The airforce will have to deal with their inferior models for now... In groundbreaking and shocking news, Meccan authorities announced that although going against the Optional Hijab laws, the Hijab and face coverings are now mandatory for all women in Mecca, Medina, and the Hejaz region. The district authority stated that this was due to the fact that the region was heavily religious, and keeping modesty was key. Ashqar has as of yet said nothing, however, due to the fact that the Optional Covering laws are not in a constitution law form, Hejaz has every right to do this. This issue is being brought to the Parliament, and will be discussed futhur.
The Tibetan Independence Movement is using SEU's ethnic cleansing as ammunition. They accuse SEU of gross human rights violations and destroying Tibet's culture. SEU asks why developing a place is bad. It cannot be denied that SEU has poured truly enormous sums of money into making Tibet into an Economically viable place, and they continue to do so even today. SEU states they are sweeping away cultures that make this process impossible or otherwise extremely difficult. SEU is currently systematically removing Tibet's Culture from Tibet. Many monks attempts to fight them through smuggling books; thousands of them are burned. SEU is an idealist. But they are willing to kill and destroy for their dream. They want to build their Communist Empire out of the Bricks of the Old World. SEU also states that "Human Rights" are a myth. Humans have no rights. There are things that are good to have, like Freedom of Speech, or Life. But if necessary, SEU will violate some of them to protect others. One must rise, one must fall. Fundamentally incompatible worldviews clash; their ideas, their values, all different.
SEU is currently attempting to stamp out opposition to the Party, but at the same time broaden the Party's umbrella. The Socialist Party hopes to incorporate a wider range of opinions while at the same time stamping out the worst of the opposition. For example: Group A, which wants the Party to take a more proactive approach in the Communist Project and not just let it happen is allowed; the Party is not closed to criticism. Group B, which wants ethnic minorities to be considered more in Party actions will also be allowed to speak their mind; and perhaps the Party will enact their ideas. Group C, which wants to remove the Party and install a Democracy will be censored, raided, and observed. They cannot be allowed to challenge the Party's rule. The Party is open to changing, but not ending. And above all, the Communist Project must be protected. Even suggesting the idea of ending the Communist Project basically means that you will be deported from the Country. The Communist Project is the Socialist Party's reason for existing, ending that is tantamount to ending the Party. The Socialist Party, led by Khrushchev, has allowed a freer press and many people are criticizing the Party. The Party welcomes this with a few asterisks attached. One of the most prominent concerns was the environment; the Government kinda knew this and made the SEUEA, and it has been vested with more power. To preserve SEU's forests and the Great Green Wall, the SEUEA has initiated controlled burning to make it resilient to fire; in addition, SEU has launched the Clean Environment Project, to reduce plastic waste in the World; particularly the oceans. Cows produce Methane, a Greenhouse Gas. In addition, SEU will put into effect Car emission rules that will make car manufacturers produce more efficient engines for their Cars. Lastly, SEU makes a certain percentage of recycled Plastic mandatory for all new Plastics. SEU is trying to clean up the environment they messed up in the 30 year's miracle.

SEU finally loses it with the Balkan Federation's dictatorship. SEU loathes all dictatorships with a passion, and the Balkan Federation is bothering SEU with its existence. Just as much ideological as practical. SEU attempts to remove Moldovan from power by hostile means; which basically means assassination. This will be quite useful, for many reasons as it will allow them to train professional means of assassination. However, the ideological component is strong; the Socialist Party views Moldovan as a vile poison that should be destroyed completely and utterly for the sake of World Peace, and they are determined to get rid of him before he can somehow come up with Uranium for a Nuclear program. They attempted to poison him by a Milkshake. The Pill contained Ricin, as SEU had no idea how to actually create a strong poison, Ricin was cheap, easily available, and it was easy to store and contain. This failed; the Ricin Poison never got to him and SEU botched it horribly. The Ricin was detected before it got to PM Moldovan. In short, it failed to kill him. However, the incident's news has been successfully contained and SEU has learned enough lessons that they will most certainly be able to try again, and succeed. Moldovan knows someone's after him, but he has no idea who. The Italians? The Austro-Hungarians? The Soviets? SEU used a lot of their authority for this one assassination attempt. This failed, but SEU could try again; it would take time, but SEU has another assassination attempt in the works. Italy, realizing that Moldovan will use this as a pretense to increase his own power decides that a Democratic Balkan Federation is most likely to cave in on itself from ethnic infighting. Italy starts supporting pro-Democracy movements, and notifies separatist movements they were backing that aid will come again, but only after Democracy is restored to the Balkan Federation, and that they should try to make Democracy happen if they want any sort of aid that might be useful to them. Italy justifies this by saying that Separatism in the current political climate is suicidal.
Azerbaijan and Armenian relations have completely broken down. Georgia moves to help the Azeri, and SEU forces mobilize to stop the Azeri from creating an "ARMENIAN GENOCIDE 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO". Armenia and Georgia state that Armenia is undermining the Soviet Union by existing, and that they will restore the harmony to the USSR by removing Armenia from existence. Armenia does not want to be removed from existence, and SEU likes Armenia; Armenia is an enemy of the Turks, who are a part of the Caliphate. Also, they're Christian. Bonus points. SEU intervenes, stating that any invasion will be met with sanctions. Uzbekistan backs Armenia. Tajikistan states their intention to assist Azerbaijan. Armenia is terrified.
Armenia and Azerbaijan is now in a state of war. Armenia is greatly outmatched, but SEU troops are helping them to an extent. However, SEU has its own problems as their troops are mostly occupying Tibet or spread out over the World. Azerbaijan wants to take its land, and Georgia is assisting them by sending troops. Armenia is fighting to survive, but the SEU Navy is weak in the Caspian Sea and Turkmenistan is... disruptive, to say the least. DRC pledges aid to Armenia. South Africa pledges aid to Azerbaijan. The Socialist Bloc is being torn in two, and SEU is angry at this whole mess. SEU can't outright fight Azerbaijan; that would actually tear the Socialist Bloc in two. But SEU can support Armenia.
The Caliphate is tingling. This is the perfect opportunity. An easy way to take over whatever superpower. They have the most naval power in the Caspian by far, and are literally at the Armenian and Azer border, meaning that they can easily supply and do as much damage as possible. The Caliphate chooses to help Azeri. Armenia has always hated the Caliphate, making it nearly impossible to share a border with them without tensions. As of now, the Caliphate is not in a full war, but since their supply lines are super close, that allows them to supply Azeri with everything they need. They also form an army at the border of Armenia and get their Caspian Navy back on their toes to defend the Azeri. The Caliphate will wait to see how things will unfold, but if things go a certain way, Armenia stands literally no chance, and the SEU will have no way to help.
Hong Kong's Economy has essentially imploded; this is due to... several factors. The Economic implosion is due to the fact that SEU is currently in a state of semi-war with its own members of the Soviet Union. In addition, there are also several other factors, including the fact that the HK money laundering scheme fell apart, and the fact that real esate prices have completely fallen apart on itself. This basically leaves Hong Kong with no income whatsoever. This gives SEU the excuse they've been wanting to finally take full control of what is theirs; Hong Kong has been ungovernable for years; this is because people kept rioting and people wanted independence. Alas, SEU cannot give them indepdence. And so, the SEU government finally takes what is theirs.
The SEU Army cannot quite commit to invading Georgia. This is because Georgia is currently committing atrocities against the Armenians, and any SEU attempt to stop it would intensify the violence. However, SEU has plenty of Economic clout; the members of the Soviet Union are tightly economically united. SEU exploits this connection to utterly obliterate the Azeri and Georgian Economies. SEU might not be able to get to them with an Army, but they can sure as hell use money to obliterate their enemies. SEU proceeds to demonstrate what happens to those who rebel against the Communist Project; total annihilation. However, this has... negative side effects. For one, utterly obliterating a Nation's Economy makes for very good propaganda against the nation doing the obliterating. While in Armenia SEU is hailed as a savior, in Azerbaijan SEU creates hunger and death; Azerbaijan and Georgia were almost entirely dependent on SEU food imports from the Ukrainian breadbasket. The Economy crashes and people are driven out of their jobs overnight. Pure propaganda material. Armenia? What happened in several Armenian towns are a scene out of hell. The people have been massacred; it's the Armenian Genocide all over again.
NUCLEAR CLUB: Socialist Eurasian Union: Around 3,000 units, around 1,000 Air-Dropped Bombs, 1,500 for active Battlefield usage, 500 for missiles. If pushed to do so, could produce around 5,000 additional units in several months. Around 50% of SEU Weapons have a yield in the 5-10 kiloton range. This is because they are intended for active usage on the Battlefield by way of SRBMs and just missiles. In addition, they have a ultra-long range 280mm gun, that is actually a modified Naval Gun, that is designed to fire 500-ton Nuclear Weapons at very long ranges. Most of SEU's Nuclear Weapons are low-radiation, and designed to have the lowest possible Radiation yield. The 1,000 Air dropped units are mostly around 1-5 megatons. There are around 50 Ultra-High yield 100-megaton weapons, but it is so large that a Tu-101 Bomber would have to be modified to even fit it. SEU's extremely huge bomber/ Tu-101-TM that is so large that it seriously calls into question its viability as a bomber could fit it with zero modifications, but there are only 24 units, substantially smaller than the available Tu-101 Bomber Fleet (The Tu-101 is 15% larger than the IRL Tu-95, and the Tu-101-TM is an enlarged Tu-101 heavier by around 20%) Sunayyad Caliphate: Insert Here Italy: Around 1,000 units, around 300 missile-launched warheads, 400 for active battlefield usage, around 300 for Strategic Bombing. The Italian arsenal is built to be the centerpiece of the Roman Union's military, and to be its final defensive shield as well as its first offensive weapon. The Caliphate's problem is sometimes having too many human rights. The amount of different cultures and sub-ethnic communities is so vast, almost larger than the government can keep record of. As the Caliphate tries to keep an inclusive and humane image by acknowledging all groups, it has gotten to the point of millions of hands reaching out. "Hey Ashqar! You helped the Kurds with their issues, now can you help us?" "Hey no fair! If they get to have a school built that only speaks their language, why not us!" "If the Nubian Christians get respect, why not us Armenian Christians?" Too little acknowledgement of culture and diversity leads to anger, isolation, and assimilation. Too much leads to everyone thinking they have so many rights that they now should become their own country. This is the biggest problem with dealing with hundreds of vastly different groups of people, keeping control of them and making everything inclusive is difficult. The only reason why the Caliphate is held tightly together is because of one thing. Islam. Literally as over 90% of the countries religious makeup, if Islam wasn't the dominant belief, then there is NO doubt the Caliphate would have fallen decades ago. A Greek author and spokesperson born in Cyprus living in Mosul expressed his thoughts, stating that if it were not for the fact that he was Muslim like everyone else, he would most likely be the outcast and either be isolated or assimilated. He came up with three main ideas: Natural Assimilation, Gradual Assimilation, and Total Assimilation Natural Assimilation (Almost literal definition, most common) Done by the human subconscious, it's the feel that you need to fit in, but by your own feelings only. Example: A French women wearing the same clothes as Iranian women to fit in the city of Tehran. Gradual Assimilation With a mind behind it, usually by the government or a larger force, a slow, yet not very noticeable way to get people to melt together, and for minority groups to transition into the dominant. Example: Ditto Total Assimilation: The obvious act of using power to forcefully and unjustly assimilate someone, through threats, destruction of culture, or genocide. Example: SEU & Tibet The Sunayyad Caliphate is merging into the Gradual Assimilation phase. Through schooling, media, and other means, the Caliphate is attempting to make people feel either like a Sunayyadian, and less like what their ethnic minority heritage is. It's done in a way to be secretive, and non-damaging. The Caliphate feels it is the only way to stay together. Currently, the Caliphate is held with Zip ties, they want to be held by Cargo Ship Rope, but if nothing is done and they become more inclusive, they will be tied with yarn... Ironic enough, Ashqar really liked Ain Defka's idea of including all minority groups, but now, Ashqar is having second thoughts.
A few extremist groups in the Arab world have emerged, unfortunately. They believe that the Caliphate Fundamentalists, AKA the current government, is a watered down Islamic government, and they insist in assimilation. They believe there should only be one race. Arabs. They say that all North Africans are Arabic, and all the way to Afghanistan. They believe Jews are the dirt version of Arabs, and the turks? Well, they just believe the Turks should be eradicated from this planet. They call themselves the REAL Caliphate Fundamentalists

Counted as the most lousy leader in Caliphate history. 2000: Sunayyad Caliphate disbanded into republic. 2004: Sunayyad Republic returns as a Caliphate. 2010-onwards: Uncertain Doom. Unsurprisingly, after nearly 3,000 copies were sold, the book was erased from all stores, the publishing company mysteriously went bankrupt, and the 30,000 already printed copies were burned by the Masif Corp. According to lore, there are a few circulating around internationally, including one which is in a Chinese man's hands, who is currently in Shanghai for a business trip. In any case, the Greater German Republic has declared themselves a superpower, and that the label of "Superpower" is akin to the label of "Empire". An Empire rules over Kingdoms. As such, a Superpower is a nation that exerts a powerful influence over a wide geographic area; often consisting of massive chunks of continents. Under this definition... Greater German Republic: Is currently expanding over a massive area; has plans to annex Denmark and turn Sweden as well as Romania into a puppet state. They are the masters of Northern Europe. Major Ethnic Groups: Germans and Poles. The GGR are actually seriously discussing renaming their nation into the Greater Polish-German Republic. Roman Union: While technically a union of like 10 different nations, their influence stretches over the Mediterranean. Major Ethnic Groups: French, Spaniards, Austrians, Hungarians, and Italians. They are all equal. Sunayyad Caliphate: Bound by Islam, and their influence stretches over North Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and Persia. Major Ethnic Groups: Arabs, Turks, Jews, Kurds and Persians. Quite inclusive in their beliefs. India: A powerful state that lacks the natural resources to make full use of its potential. Major Ethnic Groups: Hindus, Tamil Socialist Eurasian Union: Very powerful but beset by infighting on all sides and its own allies treating it as a huge joke. Major Ethnic Groups: Han, Russians, Ukrainians, Belarussians, Kazakhs, Koreans, Tibetans, East Turkestani.
