The Navy of the Greater German Republic is probing Norway; the Germans declare themselves the successor state to the SNE and that they intend to reclaim many of its former lands for their new Reich. Norway condemns them for this; they like their newfound independence. Italy is fine with that; the SNE was one of their best friends! France is not fine with that. They don't want to be ruled by Germans. Germany reassures them that their goal is to create a greater German Republic and Realm, not invade France. Italy is tired of war and the Fascist Senate (somewhat representative of the will of the people) states that they intend to demobilize their Army to a certain extent to pay for reforms and the un-Plunderization of the Italian Economy. This proves very popular with the Italian People as they think that a spell of Peace could do Italy some good. In any case, the German Army has overrun Poland totally. Poland is now a part of the Reich, albeit with great autonomy and self-rule. Germany has only annexed the demands into the actual Republic, and let the rest go as a semi-Autonomous puppet state. Germany moves to attack Norway; the unstoppable war machine greater than even that of Italy. Germany's high quality industry and strength is immensely helpful and they have a massive pool of manpower to draw on. The Socialists fortify the West to defend against German attack.
The leader of the Alliance of Nationalists, Milutin Moldovan, has begun backing the ‘Narodna Garda’. The Garda are less violent than the Armija. The split from the Armija reportedly comes after Moldovan came at odds with the leader of the Armija, who is a left wing nationalist - at odds with Moldovan’s more right wing philosophy. Not all is as it seems, however.
SEU demands to know by the Balkan Federation research team has failed to arrive. Chernobyl as a threat ended months ago, and all the data has already been collected by SEU scientists. The Government released its reports months ago, the Balkan Federation could have been real useful. The Socialist Government has condemned the Balkan Federation and renewed the Food Sanctions on the Balkan Federation, meaning that food prices remain high. SEU has barred Balkan Federation access to Ukrainian Wheat, although Chinese Rice (not attractive to Westerners) is still an option. This drives up food prices, a lot. The Ukrainians were promised aid but it never came, the Party was left to clean up the mess. This makes the Ukrainians very angry at the Balkan Federation, particularly the Albanians which they blame. SEU is demonstrating its Economic Might, making a statement that a decision made by the people and executed by the Party can rock the boat for any nation on Planet Earth, even with no weapons or guns. Imagine what SEU could do with its weapons. SEU has announced several next-generation weapons projects, such as the MiG-23 Variable-Geometry Jet Fighter and MiG-25 Interceptor, and the T-72 Tank; the T-72 tank in particular is quite promising, as it promises to outpace the MBT-7 and all previous SEU tank models. SEU is most analogous to Mr. House's ending in Fallout: New Vegas. Replace Mr. House with Socialist Party and you've got a pretty good idea of SEU's Governing system.
The Italians, who want to destabilize the Balkan Federation and take over, begs the Austro-Hungarians to PLEASE NOT make territorial demands against the Balkan Federation. This would Unite the Balkan Federation against the Roman Union Anger the Caliphate Drag Italy into more war If the Austro-Hungarians Succeed, they will remove a primary source of instability within the Balkan Federation. France also states that their goal is a United Europe and a restoration of Rome but better and less based on constant plunder. They don't want more war. The Austro-Hungarians decide angering Italy and France is a bad idea. SEU launches an R-16 ICBM over much of the Russian landmass, stating that this R-16 ICBM was long overdue for construction and testing. In addition, they deploy these newly manufactured R-16 missiles near the Ukrainian border, a clear dig at the Caliphate and Balkan Federation, as well as R-12 Dvnia Missiles, clearly aimed at Turkey and the Balkan Federation's areas. SEU orders the development of a Stealth Recon Aircraft. Tupolev has been called upon to exceed expectations; the requirements are heavy; Mach 3.25, 26km Service Ceiling, a RCS of 0.01 Square Meters. Those are lofty demands. But Tupolev routinely performs better than the impossible; the Tu-101 Superheavy Bomber "Flying Apocalypse" performed far above expectations, despite lofty goals. Tupolev, looking at this, demands Titanium. Lots of it. Titanium, Titanium, Titanium. They state that around 90-95% of the stuff will be Titanium or its alloys. Because SEU has a near-monopoly on World Titanium supply, Titanium is relatively cheaply available in Socialist bloc nations; SEU's Titanium Mining and Refinement Industry is quite well developed, as they're using the stuff in everything from Supercarriers to Supersonic Fighters to some extent, and SEU actually has some Consumer products made of small amounts of alloyed Titanium. Tupolev states that they will try, but that this is... unprecedented. They will have a prototype ready in around 3 months, or 10 posts. The designation is Tu-SR-64, Tupolev Stealth Reconissance 1964. Tupolev, being a state-owned enterprise, can't refuse. But they are worried that they will fail.
Milutin Moldovan has made a speech in Belgrade, painting the Italians and the Austrians as the enemies of the Balkans, and has said that the Muslim Alliance and their supporters are being paid by them to cause destabilisation from within. Economic recession has hit the Balkan Federation and the people are angry and struggling. And combined with Moldovan’s charisma, it is creating a big boost for the Alliance of Nationalists in the polls.
The Supersonic FaR-1111 is nearing production release. It's a supersonic, Mach 2 Fighter-Interceptor with a whole lotta range. It's expensive as hell, however with more funds since the CSA left the space race, for now, the airforce can afford it. Although expensive as hell, they are at a slight superiority to the MiG-23, a goal that the SCRAF wanted to be met. The Caliphate rebounds the SEU by launching an X-6 missile themselves in test flight across the Caliphate from Turkey. The MBT-7 Chieftan proves incredibly effective, and was deemed the greatest Modern Battle Tank in existence. To pay for the FaR-1111 some of the AI-5, a disaster of production is being sold... to smaller nations, as the AI-4 is even deemed as better and sold to other nations that can afford it. The Navy looks for upgrades, and thus with new computer technology plans to revamp all modern fighting ships with top of the line radar on par with the SEU, advanced fighting and anti-submarine/defense systems. More guided missile destroyers and cruisers have been ordered. CLASSIFIED: The SCN meets with Indonesia about talks with building a port in the Island which Jakarta rests. The port would store Caliphate Naval ships, and should be enough for at least a Fatima II Super Carrier. Another port a ways away would be a good spot to store a few SSBNs with the P-1 Polaris missiles. ...this could soon be like the Cuban Missile Crisis, especially since talks about moving Nuclear Weaponry and the X-6 to Indonesia has been made.
Womens rights in the SC are odd and seem not like Islam at all. Under the Musawaism Equality of Rights Bill, women have many freedoms, and are stood at the same level as men in the legal system. For examples: Divorce can be done by the woman, however it is very, very hard to accomplish. Women can find work in many jobs The Hijab is OPTIONAL, as well as the Burka and other traditional coverings. Women can be in almost any space, there are very, very few areas which are deemed "Men-Only." Women can work in the damn government, although Lesser Government at that, where there are only 2 women in current work... But still. Female Cir cu mscision is banned The dating world is different, women can date around like Western Women (mostly only in cities), however it's taboo. Honour Killings are totally outright banned. Basically, if a woman is caught sleeping with a man while she isn't married, or does have a marriage in place, she can no longer be killed to restore honour in the family. Will she be disowned? Most likely yes, but she is protected under legal law. They can win child custody in court Access to same Healthcare, Education, and Welfare benefits as men. The only downside? Not allowed to join military, only a more "home front" medical profession. Cannot join government above the Lesser Government role, even then getting into the LG is difficult. There are gender roles, and being misplaced from those roles is a bit taboo. In some jobs, women will get paid less than men. A cultural taboo still lingers, and thus women are still treated a bit differently outside of legal law. This is far different from the Islam viewpoint in our world, which has led to groups of Conservative Muslims to protest the government in basically receeding women's rights, saying that the Government is not Islamic at all, but a Western Cult.
An issue apart of the Green Gate Project is oil. When will it run out? At the moment everyone feels immortal. Oil is everywhere, people are buying into companies and making fortunes. Sunayyad Aramco is the biggest Oil company in the world, not even the SEU's oil companies can compete, mainly because it is not only Saudi Arabia, but literally every other oil source in the Caliphate, leading up to massive numbers. This oil is being sold all over the world, and is being bought by massive buyers. Sunayyad Aramco is a name seen literally everywhere, and they are onwards to becoming close to the biggest revenue company on earth. However, there's a man... Arkaan el-Satter, and his nihilist world view. Oil will run out soon. How soon? Possibly a few centuries from now, but still, if the current trend keeps going, that few centuries could be almost just 100 years, according to el-Satter, deemed the most Nihilist Minister in the entire Sunayyad Caliphate. Arkaan el-Satter is within the Lesser Government, and is a District Minister of the area of northern Saudi Arabia, a desolate place, which is why everyone ignores him. However he has contacted the Greater Government, and Greater Council, mastering a plan to cut down on oil costs and to preserve them, while still making TONS of money. Maybe at a lesser rate than currently, but at a safe rate that would eventually make the oil of the SC last a lot longer. It would for see blocs in the SC which produce the most oil look at a "budget" of all things, instead of wildly producing and selling instantly, and it would carefully watch all the data of the oil supply and deem the best possible solutions. He presented his well documented "The Future of our Oil" to the Greater Government, which read it, then sent it to the Greater Council, and then... didn't give it to Ashqar? Seems they lost it. However, the Project Manager of the Green Gate Project saw the almost 100-page long document and granted the most Nihilistic man in the SC the head position overseeing the Gas & Oil Department of the Government-funded Green Gate Project. Once his document reaches Ashqar, which should be very soon, he will be announced as a hero within the era. However, this looming depression of a scarce supply of oil is being remedied early. Ever wondered why the Caliphate produces some of the world's biggest, and best quality "Big Cargo and Tanker Ships" in their Persian Gulf ports? And why Motorlu and Okuz are such big car companies? It's a plan to diversify the economy, to make it so that the Caliphate can last a long, long, long time.
Dragoje Aleksič was on a tour in Belgrade when a grenade detonated beneath his car, flipping it over and killing its driver. People in the crowd then started attacking the police, killing seven. They made it to the car, where they dragged Aleksič, as well as his wife and son, out and nailed them to crosses, mocking Aleksič’s status as the hero of the Balkans. The Prime Minister is dead. Milutin Moldovan has condemned the assassination. Due to his extensive knowledge of the inner workings of the Narodna Armija, he has been appointed interim Prime Minister. However, during the vote that made him the Prime Minister, the Senate was surrounded by uniformed Narodna Garda soldiers. The action is widely regarded by the press as a coup.
SEU is disappointed, to say the least. SEU had hoped to keep the Balkan Federation as a buffer state between the Fascists, Socialists, and Islamic Caliphate. Now it will fall thanks to petty infighting, and after that it will no doubt fall to the Fascists. SEU does not want Fascist Influence to dominate Europe; a German Reich is at SEU's doorstep, the Romans are about to envelop all of Socialist Europe, and the Argentines are leaving their mark on Socialist Influence. In short, Fascism and Socialism's mutual interests are starting to end.
SEU realizes that this is pretty much a perfect excuse for the Soviet Peacekeepers to intervene. The Balkan Federation is basically on fire, people are dying in droves, riots are in the streets, this is basically Hong Kong, but NATIONWIDE. Even SEU has some morals. SEU announces a plan to intervene before an outright civil war breaks out, if it should be necessary. The AUCS Union states that they will also intervene if the Balkan Federation falls apart. Let's face it, the Balkan Federation is probably going to fall apart eventually. Italy's pulling strings to make it fall apart even faster, and if it doesn't fall apart and actually starts pulling itself together Italy's definitely going to sanction an invasion by the Austro-Hungarians, although Italy won't actually help.
The SC sends their personal aid and peacekeeping to TBF. Now this makes things complicated. With both the Islamic Caliphate and Socialists peacekeeping in the same place tensions rise, making it worse. Although the chance of a civil war breaking out becomes less and less every week, the competition is there. Sometimes peacekeeping units will stare eachother down. Caliphate Muslims on one side, Russian Socialists on one side. It's tense, both sides have engaged in the verbal conflict against eachother's nations, but have never stood face to face. It's like a standstill, they're peacekeepers and show no violence, but working near your literal enemy causes animosity. Ashqar gives out his condolences, as well as the rest of the Musafahki Parliament. However, this is also a cheap way to garner support for the Muslim Alliance, and the Caliphate supports them well. Hopefully they don't do anything outright stupid. Ashqar met with RUM president to speak on behalf of making an entire nation run on Nuclear Energy. It went great... that was a lie. The RUM President seemed to have been rude at times, interrupting Ashqar as he spoke, and continually dwindled him down and did not miss the opportunity to mention the camel herders and the crappy rural hospitals. He made some very subtle jokes which came out as inconsiderate, mentioning the Arab headscarfs and how funny they look, the hairy moustaches and other immature and unneeded statements.
Brazil is shaping up, using their funds to form and expand their navy. They currently have 1 Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarine in their arsenal, however it's in need of a few warheads, something that's being shipped from the Caliphate to them. They have also expanded by funding a fleet of missile guided cruisers and destroyers, as well as an aircraft carrier, that holds approx. 60 aircraft. Not much, but it's still expensive and is more than any other South American nation. They have also requested the infamous FaR-1111. Although released in 6 posts, they want some in their fleet, bad. They even consulted with the Caliphate, and if they get their hands on the production rights, it will be the FaR-1111, however cheaper and less superior, but still amazing. Known as the Socialist Striker... The NAE has also decided to upgrade their airforce and invest in affording the Caliphate AI-5. The AI-5 is great for smaller nations like the NAE, however the Caliphate could never use it, unless they wish to be inferior entirely to the SEU, however they would still be better planes than whatever the little countries had. The iron wall is nearly done, however it is being accustomed more in the north to bring caution to the threat of the Italians, Germans, Socialists and Hungarians. Seriously, it's a massive crap hole of a situation.
The SEU People's Leader, Deng Xiaoping, has been ousted by the more culturally progressive Nikita Khrushchev. Mr. Khrushchev promises to stay his route with Economic Policies, as Deng's Policies have worked decently so far and has promised steady, strong Economic Growth at 4-5%, just like it's always been. Khrushchev's difference is in what he calls "Project Long March". He intends to liberalize the Press; to an extent, of course. He promises less censorship, as Eurasian Socialism should seek to imitate true Socialism as closely as possible; there needs to be only as much censorship needed to preserve the Socialist Meritocracy. In addition, he plans to give some of the benefits of normal marriage and children to LGBTQ+ Couples. Not all, just some, unless they have children, not just adopt them. He is attractive because despite strong Economic Growth, the people are growing more dissatisfied; the Meritocracy only grows more brutal by the day, and inequality is rising. This is a problem. The Socialist Party intends to combat this inequality by taxation and the redirection of income towards the bottom 10%. The minimum wage will be raised and several other measures taken. Khrushchev and RUM's leader has met. The meeting did not go well; RUM's leader seemed quite unstable, and couldn't make up his mind about whether SEU was a friendly or hostile nation. Venezuela, Colombia, Panama and Chile form the South American Socialist Pact, made to constrain Brazil.
RUM's leader has proven himself quite insane. Everyone but the right thinks that he's going nuts and has no idea what he's talking about 75% of the time. The leader is looked down upon by most of RUM and not only that but he is not taken seriously anymore. Some days he goes on radio and TV shows, saying that the SEU and the Calphite are our enemies and that we should blow them to bits (even though RUM's military is basically a single guy with an airsoft gun), but when questioned by the press later if he meant what he said, he responds, "I have no idea what you're talking about, I never said any of that!!" As the first year goes by, being full of nonsense like that, the right, his base at least, hold their ground and still look at the leader as a good person, while everyone else thinks otherwise and that RUM is suffering. Meanwhile... prospects in RUM are turning more sour. Due to some tax breaks given by the leader to multi-billion dollar corporations, businesses have become very lax with their self-regulations and begin to "cut corners" to save costs. A prime example is the nuclear power plants. Local residents in the vicinity of them begin to get sick, very gradually. No one seems to know by, but others seem to think that the nuclear plants are beginning to leak some amount of elevated does of radiation. A few people who live in the vicinity of a nuclear plant decided to hire a 3rd party investigation to find out the full extend of the radiation. The tests shows "above acceptable levels" of radiation in the livestock, the water, and the crops within a 25 mile radius around the plant. The people of RUM who live within that radius for each power plant are thinking of moving away, perhaps to a smaller village where the leader has not yet put nuclear power plants (like he promised to do...) The ER and hospitals seen a steady increase in people coming to their facilities. The medicine companies seize the opportunity to make a profit by increasing their prices on their drugs that some people need to get better. At the same time, some ERs and Hospitals have their tests "changed" so the current level of radiation is now the "new acceptable levels" of radiation. People show early signs of radiation sickness in RUM. Meanwhile, jobs are being outsourced by the leader, and to add more pain to injury, the leader had given more tax breaks to the elite billionaires in the country while the shrinking middle class and poor classes of people begin to struggle harder than ever before. The right begin to feel the struggle as well, but do not care much because the leader shares their beliefs about things in the social landscape of the country. Another thing to "seal the deal" is that the leader of RUM loves to make statements that are facually incorrect, such as the fact that SEU is a country that we do not want to be like, as Capitalism is the best. He fear mongers about the Calphite for being our enemy, and that they will come take RUM over. Everyone but the right rolls their eyes and believes that the leader should apologize to those nations for his brazen attempts to smear them and ruin their reputation... Fun fact: Just in recent days, the leader wanted a statue of him built and placed somewhere in RUM for all to see, even though he hasn't done anything to deserve such an item of his likeness. He is looked upon, even parts of the right, with disbelief with that statement and is labeled quite an absurd person who should not have become the leader of RUM...
SEU states that RUM is clearly doing something wrong with their Nuclear Power Plants if it's leaking Radiation. They aren't supposed to do that, see. Even SEU's RBMK Power Plants leak less Radiation than Coal Power Plants. And those things are kind of infamous for not being safe and for blowing up, although that happened exactly once. SEU advises RUM to shut down all extant power plants and to come back to it when they know what they're doing. SEU knows what they're doing, still suffered Chernobyl.
RUM Nuclear Officials heed SEU's warning, and acknowledge that they have more experience than they do. They comply and begin to power off some of the nuclear plants. The leader gets word of this and begins fear mongering the people that the SEU wants to take over RUM and ruin our economy with their Socialism. The media prints out the words spouted by both the SEU and the leader of RUM non-stop. Those who were affected by nuclear plants are in favor of shutting down the plants while a majority of RUM residents who are unaffected are swayed either way. The leader of RUM also says that nuclear energy is super clean, the cleanest form of energy possible with very little to no consequences. Those affected do not listen and nor do a lot of officials, as those areas are "unsafe to return to". The leader says that is false information and that the radiation levels are perfectly well within safe range for anything in the 25 mile radius of any nuclear plant in RUM. The economy suffers as this leader's "total nuclear powered RUM" idea has failed, and now the natural gas and coal power plants must be "turned back on" to power the parts of RUM that the nuclear plants covered. Electric bills go back up and the middle and poor class begin to feel the financial burden, but those who are already radiated will probably live the rest of their life with their radiation exposure. A price that the current leader of RUM took, and now their blood is now on his hands, even though he is in complete denial. The village hospitals and ERs are now flooded with those who were escaping the radiation from the nuclear plants. Amid the health crisis, the insurance companies begin to become super corrupt and try to save as much money as possible by denying coverage to some people, which could eventually lead to people dying on the streets. This is a major turning point for some people in RUM. Some knowledge of Socialism from the SEU leaks into RUM's territories. Local residents begin thinking that RUM's healthcare system is nuts and needs to be replaced with something that actually works. Only the future can ultimately show what is going to happen for the sour prospects of RUM.
The Caliphate along the SEU just thinks RUM is wacked. Caliphate nuclear reactor systems are insanely safe, equal to the SEU. In nuclear energy no side seems to take competition, unless its weaponry. However, engineers must take years of school and training, and in the end if they mess up bad, can see prison time.
RUM officials that work with the leader acknowledge the leader's insanity and the other nation's view of RUM. RUM nuclear power plant operators shut down the plants within a 25 mile radius of any resident. However, one of the nuclear plants leak a little bit of radioactive gas the same day after the operators begin to cool the reactors down for decomissioning. RUM residents are very concerned and question if RUM should have any access to nuclear energy. Operators of the remote nuclear plants that have had no issues declare a shutdown of those power plants as well, seeing how the public is not comfortable with nuclear energy anymore. RUM's economy tanks harder as coal and natural gas make a comeback and spike electrical rates for local residents. In a last-ditch effort to try and make some money after the failed nuclear ideas, all leftover uranium is put up for sale for any other nations to purchase at a low price. RUM's leader scolds the nuclear plant operators, saying that nuclear energy was the worst idea in the world, and he would have done better maintaining the facilities. --- The residents roll their eyes when they hear this statement from their leader.
SEU buys all of it. SEU intends to make Nuclear Weapons and ship it to Panama so they can defend themselves. The SASP pools their money to buy them all to defend themselves from Brazil. SASP's 4 nations will each posses 75 Nuclear Weapons.
