[FORUM GAME] New Nations

  1. Germany is warned to stand back from invading anyone now, and they finally listen
  2. The Balkan Federation seems to have fully recovered from their war of independence that they endured just five years ago. The economy is booming thanks to all of this new infrastructure being built, such as railroads and motorways, and the uranium mining programme that has been undertaken in Romania is proving to be fruitful, which will be great for when the first Balkan nuclear power plant completes construction in a few years. Great social welfare programmes have been implemented and Balkan citizens enjoy a great deal of social mobility and have a fantastic safety net for when times are hard.

But things are beginning to show their cracks.

The wound that was left by the Government's failure to address the SEU's persecution of Muslims has been left to fester. The Alliance of Nationalists and the Alliance of Orthodox Serbs believe that the Government should have backed the SEU up; the Alliance of Conservatives and the Alliance of Liberals both believe that the Government should have roundly condemned the actions undertaken by the SEU and asked them to stop; while the Muslim Alliance believes that war was a suitable option and the Government should have granted Balkan citizenship to all Muslims in the SEU. Stamados had, instead, stood by and done nothing.

While Stamados is still immensely popular in Greece, opinion polling shows that the Muslim Alliance has dominance over Albania, Bosnia, and Kosovo (although Kosovo has no autonomy) and their followers regularly clash with police and demand secession from The Balkan Federation. The Alliance of Nationalists are now the most dominant party in Serbia, and demand a ban on the Muslim Alliance. It is clear that, whatever happens in the next year, a group of people are going to get hurt.
  3. SEU realizes that this might not be good but could still be salvaged; if the Nationalists take over, SEU could intervene for the Humane Treatment of Muslims and earn a few Brownie points with their ethnic minorities; it would broadcast that as long as they remained a part of SEU, SEU would be willing to stand by them in times of crisis, that all ethnic minorities were valued.
If the Muslims take over, SEU might be able to also intervene, but this time to create a Greek puppet Government that could serve to contain Caliphate Influence.
SEU has a valid Casus Belli either way, because the instability is a humanitarian crisis; the Soviet Peacekeepers could intervene.
SEU correctly notes that SEU and East Turkestan have come to a friendly agreement, and that SEU has never persecuted Muslims.
Persecuting Muslims would be a bad idea when 25% of one's Oil Reserves are held by a Muslim-Majority Region. SEU has little interest in persecuting Muslims, only Separatists. The East Turkestani were not separatists, and so the Socialists and the Muslims got along decently with SEU showering East Turkestan with benefits and money to improve the infrastructure of their lands. SEU agreed to stop persecuting East Turkestani, East Turkestan agreed to stop attempting for independence. Both sides are happy, East Turkestan is absolutely loyal and SEU rewards them handsomely.
    The Tibetans are actual Separatists.
SEU does not, cannot, for the sake of its own existence, tolerate separatists. If they acquiesce, SEU's 40 other ethnic groups will demand independence. SEU has neither the time nor the energy to deal with mass revolts.
SEU is on a shaky platform and has little desire to let anything, anyone, go. SEU will not let anyone go without a fight, not today, not ever.
  4. The SEU Army is around 1.38 million strong, but the Army complains that this is too small. Despite SEU having a population three times that of the Sunayyad Caliphate, the active Army is smaller by 400,000. SEU has a population five times that of Japan. Japan's active Army is around 1 million. SEU's Army is smaller than Italy's Army. Italy has a population a 1/8 that of SEU.
Something seems a bit off, no?
The SEU congress authorizes a major expansion bill. SEU has 11 active armies. This will be increased to 16 for a total of 2 million, slightly larger than that of the Caliphate. 4 of the 5 new armies will be stationed to the Western Regions to reinforce existing armies; the other CAA Will be focused on mountain warfare and unconventional forms of fighting, because a good portion of China is anything but good Tank Country.
SEU will have 3 Unconventional Armies, the 1st, 2nd, and 11th armies will all be focused on mountain and unconventional fighting. It is hoped the new expansion bill will allow SEU to finally defend its borders form enemies. The 2-million strong army will be the strongest on Earth and will be an effective defense and offensive tool.
The conscription will finish in 10 posts and arming in 20 (this stuff is a rarity now, honestly.)
  5. With both sides pressing in on the party, and Martial Law having proven ineffective at quelling the Hong Kong semi-riots, semi-protests, the Socialist Party announces an unprecedented decision. This is likely to anger both sides; the People of the SEU want Hong Kong to be restored, as is rightfully theirs; the Hongkongers want freedom and Democracy. The Party cannot give either; the Party is out of options; they've tried everything.
The Party will let Hong Kong tear itself to pieces. The Party will do nothing.
The SEU Police will leave Hong Kong. The Rioters and the Protestors can do whatever they want, SEU is beyond caring. SEU will not stop them, it has proven to be a waste of men and resouces. The Party will station some troops outside the City to keep out any rioters, and refugees are welcome to leave Hong Kong, but SEU will not enforce law.
    Any law.
Looters are free to loot. Killers are free to kill. Arsonists are free to start fires. SEU will not stop anyone from doing anything. SEU will give Hong Kong absolute Freedom.
The Party has dissolved the City of Hong Kong as an entity. SEU instead designates it a "non-administration zone", shorthand for anarchy.
SEU will give them the freedom they so want, and wait until they come crawling back.
The Party's completely lost it, basically.
They're fed up at everyone and angry that they have no options left; they're lashing out in anger and impulsiveness.
And you do not want to be anywhere near when the Socialist Party loses its cool.
This is the first time in History that the Socialist Party has lost its cool and acts completely out of character. All the military men are urging the Party to do brutal crap, everyone is trying to pull the Party different ways and the upper management have just lost it.
They, at least, are giving the people 24 hours to leave.
    Socialist Party Statement:
"Non-administration Zone of Hong Kong, you are free to do whatever. All law enforcement and Public Officials will be evacuated in 48 hours by Helicopter and Armored Cars. Anyone who does not want to be in Hong Kong should leave in the next 24 hours. We repeat, the NAZOHK will be devoid of all Law Enforcement in 48 hours. We urge you to leave in the next 24 hours."
  6. The SC is humane and accepting due to the Islamic and Musawai hold on the nation, the country is peaceful. People still bicker and argue, but the government oppresses no people who dont deserve it. Yes, organizations like the Zionists were oppressed and shut down, but as an alternate the influx of Jewish immigrants were given housing and room was made for them.

Assimilation doesnt exist, communities live beside eachother and keep their tradition. Assimilation is only natural and not forced by an entity.

The only government oppression is direct cursing of the religious aspects of Islam, Allah, Muhammed, or the Caliph and the Clergy. You can question, but never curse or blasphemy, ever.

The SEU has increasingly worse human right policies, and the Muslim faith is becoming more and more worried to the point where many who are facing Han assimilation and wreck from the revolution are fleeing to the nearby Caliphate , where they are welcomed with open arms.

Islam is peaceful in this NN, wahhabism which is the extreme version of Islam is basically gone, slowly dying off.

OOC: there will be no Al Qaeda, ISIS or Islamic extremism. Dont even bother with 9/11 or the war on terror, because it won't exist because It cant. Islamic terrorism existed because of the intervention of Western non Muslim nations and their negativity. That doesnt exist in this game, please dont even consider making Islamic Extremism a massive deal in this game because quite frankly it CANT exist in NN 2. East Orthodox Christian's seem to be more of a threat in this game. Also for the sake of not copying the real world, maybe avoiding Islamic terrorism should be a thing, because it makes the game boring and predictable to real life.

  7. SEU and Islam are actually enjoying one of their very few good relations.
SEU's acknowledgement of East Turkestan, SEU utterly showering East Turkestan's East Turkestan Branch of the Socialist Party wtih funding and SEU's willingness to give it autonomy has greatly improved East Turkestan's view of SEU. SEU has lifted regulation on Islamic behavior, and been more supportive of the faith.
This has resulted in East Turkestan being more loyal to SEU than ever. East Turkestani now view the Party as a force for good rather than evil.
But the Party has new problems.
Namely, the number of public demonstration registration has spiked by 300%. The average size of the demonstrations 1,000%.
    Something is wrong.
SEU has allowed the demonstrations to take place.
    The slogan?
    1941.
They think that the Socialist Party of 1961 is weak and cowardly; a mighty Tiger afraid of insects.
Why is the once-brave Party that stood up to the Sunayyad Caliphate so afraid of small cities? Where is the mighty warrior, defender of all Socialists? Where is the Socialist Party of 1941?
Where is the soldier in metal armor that defends all Socialists from harm?
Where is the Hero? Where is the fearless Soldier that everyone remembers from 20 years ago? Where is the Party of World War 2?
Why is the Party so cowardly? Why so afraid to use force to restore order?
The Party is so afraid! The people want the brave party back, that isn't afraid to use force to help Socialism thrive. The new Party is weak, and unwilling to use armies to defeat the enemies of Socialism.
The protests begin, and they do not end. One after another waving the Socialist flag and demanding the Party of 1941 back.
    Not asking.
    Demanding.
This is very, very, bad. If the people are demanding something, the Party has to act. Now.

  8. The Prawo i Sprawiedliwość movement in Poland has officially declared independence and has stated that "the Third Republic shall never fall to other powers". They have formed a democratic capitalist government, where they are the ruling party until they have an election. They have yet to be recognised by any country, except for Lithuania, which also declared independence as the Union of Lithuania and Kaliningrad.
    Map Key-
pink = UBR claimed and controlled territory
brown = UBR claimed, but rebel controlled
  9. SEU saw this coming from a mile away and is rolling a Belarussian Army into the rebel-held territories to help retake the territories for the UBR. 9 SEU divisions have entered the UBR Rebel Territories, because it's part of SEU's duty to assist their friends and allies defeat rebellions. The SEUAF has entered UBR and is attacking Rebel Strongholds with Tu-101 Superheavy Bombers. SEU is providing armored Support in Poland; despite SEU tanks having very few T-62s, there are many first-rate T-55s. The SEU and Rebel Armor are of equal quality, but there is way more that SEU has.
SEU is the hegemon for a reason after all.
  10. The Trans Saharan Highway project is one of the world's largest highway projects, yet most deadly. Since Saharan nations seek to fund the project of networks of highways stretching through the north African Mediterranean to the sub-saharan plains, many workers have been hired and already two highways have been built, stretching from Libya to Niger and from Algeria to Mali.

The death rate is tremendous, although thousands of jobs have opened up, over 17% of the workers never return home.

Cold nights, heat stroke inducing heat, insane winds and long hours of work in the middle of no where hundreds of miles from water sources and shelter, death is common. Although attempts at checkpoints to house the workers are popping into place, the desert is very difficult to tame, but within a decade the Caliphate will tame the desert as if it were a pet.
  11. The SEU Army is making its way to Hong Kong. A proper Army. A Combined Arms Army. Not the wimp armies.
    The People Cheer them on.
Within the Party headquarters, there is intense debate; 800,000 people have fled Hong Kong in the last month. The SEU Army intends to forcibly displace the entire population and reorganize the City. The lawlessness of the past month has been devastating and SEU has been forced to use Mi-8 Helicopters to evacuate civilians; the City is now filled with only rioters and criminals, there are no more protesters or civilians except for a very few.
The SEU Army rolls in with T-34 tanks, mostly spares that could be cobbled together with a few T-54s.
The intent is clear; take the City from the enemies of Socialism and restore the City to its former glory. The Party has told the people to please, please, not do anything stupid or try to fight the rioters. SEU worries the people may independently organize to fight the rioters; this would be 10 times worse than the army walking in.
Rioters and SEU Army Forces clashed for hours on end while Caliphate reporters were quickly shuffled away from the war zone.
The SEU leaving had only created death for the innocent. The Socialist Party expresses their deepest regret for leaving Hong Kong with no help whatsoever, because that was a mistake.
T-34 tanks are vastly superior to the Police Vehicles the rioters have looted; the rioters and the Army fight without reservation.
Hong Kong is a war zone.

  12. The Party's popularity has recovered somewhat. The people are pleased.
But not enough; SEU decides that to truly recover the "Hero" image, they need to crush the Tibetan Liberation Movement Once and For All.
This is a good call; the TLM had been growing increasingly unpopular with SEU citizens due to their extreme demands and the people would be happy to see the Party restored to its former glory.
The people now wave SEU flags and asks the Party to keep doing what's its doing, because in these actions they see 1941's fearless and strong Party, the Hero. Anti-Party Protests turn into Pro-Party Protests. This is good for the SEU and the Party, because it means they have regained the confidence of the people.
The Party was booed because it seemed weak and cowardly; this is a terrible thing to be in a nation dominated by Han who detest Weak Governments because they see weak Governments as letting go of its power easily. But now the Party seems strong and brave, ready to take on all foreign threats.
The People breathe a sigh of relief; for a moment there the Party acted like the Qing; weak. But they are glad that the Party is strong and would fight off threats instead of bowing to them.
If the Party had continued its course, the people would have overthrown them; but the Party is savvy.
The SEUAF is ordered to destroy the Rebels, and while deliberately targeting civilians is forbidden, it is allowed to use Concrete Bombs to destroy rebels even with some civilian risk. The Army is ordered to advance forward, and to split up into smaller groups to allow more flexibility in combating enemies.
  13. The SEU is tightening the noose on the Tibetan Liberation movement.
Despite truly enormous losses, the SEU 1st-4th armies have slowly ground through Tibet; despite the fact that they are taking deaths and injuries, and massive losses of Tanks, SEU's overwhelming Air Superiority is helping them. SEU is putting its advantage, size to good use.
The SEU 3rd and 4th armies have both conquered most of the plateaus of Tibet and are sweeping up most of the rest. The 1st and 2nd armies are having more trouble but with Air Support they are slowly but surely making progress; the 3rd Army is moving to rendezvous with the 1st and 2nd with some success, although their Tanks are not suited for the mountain. They have to cross mountains to get there and have opted to leave most of their armored vehicles behind for the Air Support to collect and ferry back. The 1st Army is still stuck in Northern mountain ranges while the 2nd has broken through some and is encroaching on the heart of Tibet where most of the population lives, Lhasa; capturing this hub would be a major victory though by no means the end of the war, but capturing the Capital would likely seal its fate for good; they may fight, but Tibetan independence will cease to be.
    Mountains, mountains, mountains.
SEU is just throwing more and more men at the meat grinder; the Tibetans are being weakened by the day while SEU's forces are endless. This is why you do not mess with SEU; SEU can produce crap faster than you can destroy.
The Tibetan movement is slowly being strangled to death; SEU is relentless.
Despite setbacks, the goal is in sight.
  14. The Socialist Party condemns The Balkan Federation for spreading lies; SEU has not once persecuted Muslims! SEU has wronged East Turkestan many times, yes, but the new agreement fixes this. East Turkestan is now a valued part of SEU. They further condemn the Muslim Alliance for Islamic Extremism and fanaticism.
SEU claims that the end goal was improvement of living standards, not persecuting Islam; if there had been a way for peace and stability in East Turkestan without certain persecution of Uyghurs, SEU would have taken that route. The persecution was a needed side effect, they claim. This is only half true.
This is basically a trick. The Socialist Party is not the SEU and IN THEORY an independent Political Party, so TBF is unable to directly retaliate against SEU.
SEU, in any case, acts to roundly make TBF's life harder. SEU imposes greater tariffs on imports and exports; the Ukrainian Breadbasket is made less available to them. This is basically SEU condemning the TBF further with their immense Economic Power.
SEU is clearly displeased at the Balkan Federation.
This gets even worse; Italy has finally launched an operation to defeat the UK, once and for all.
The Fascist Senate approves of restoring the province of Britannia to the Roman Empire, even if the Province obeys nothing.
France has finally agreed to aid Italy by sending two armies; this is because they need Italy's favor for the fact that Germany is becoming increasingly imperialistic, and if they tick off Germany wrong Italy might not help them.
SEU is not aiding Italy directly but is profiting immensely from this war; the arms manufacturers of SEU are having a field day with this war, and SEU is also aiding Italy by sinking British Commerce wherever it can be found; the UK is helpless to fight back as the Royal Navy has been decimated by the Regia Marina, Armada Espanola and Marine Nationale working together, as well as relentless Air Force bombings by the coalition of nations. The Royal Navy is a husk of its former self.
SEU is using the UK commerce as target practice; it's good training for the Submariners. SEU even sets up mock escorts for the helpless merchant ships so that they can train in open Atlantic Conditions.
In any case, the UK is clearly doomed.
    Otus_NigRum likes this.
  15. SEU is a determined and ingenious enemy when fighting rioters or protesters.
SEU literally has a law where if your protest isn't above a certain size, it's not allowed. If it starts breaking things, it will be disbanded. If way more people show up than intended, the protest is disbanded. If people start brandishing guns, the protest is disbanded.
They must state from when to when, roughly how many people will show up (a lot of leeway with this), the purpose of the protest, and the cause. SEU also demands each participant pay a certain (small) fee, because deploying Police to control mobs is expensive.
This all means that when someone wants a protest, they have a lot of hoops to jump through.
SEU wants to discourage protests and encourage constructively critical media and complaints. SEU views protests and ineffective, confrontational, and useless at enacting Social Change; SEU thinks low-key methods are better.
But if there are protesters, the SEU Police is gentle.
Until the rioters show up; if rioters show up, all bets are off for all, even peaceful protesters.
SEU Police are actually pretty nice; they are good, but merciless against rioters.
  16. The Caliphate backs up the Muslim Alliance stating their words were from anger and misleading information. They aren't radical... well, most of them at least
  17. Battle of Lhasa:
The SEU 2nd Army entered the City under constant attack; The Tibetan strategy had shifted concerningly.
It turned into brutal, Stalingrad-Style House-to-House fighting. All grand strategy broke down into a thousand different actions by thousands of men just trying to stay live.
The 2nd Army's schedule broke apart in hours; how could it not? Everyone was too busy fighting to obey orders.
This is a battle of wills.
The 2nd Army and Tibetans are both angry; the 2nd Army is angry because they've been stuck here, dying, because of the Tibetans who want to break off and take rightful SEU land from the Union. The 2nd Army is angry at their insolence and unfair tactics. It's pretty obvious why the Tibetans are angry, and are willing to do anything to get what they want.
The 2nd Army, taking huge losses, makes progress in the Western Sector
They relentlessly push forward, killing Civilians in the process. They come to the Najin bridge of the Lhasa river, and here the fighting begins in Earnest; the resistance blows it up; SEU comes up with a WW2 device, called Pontoon Bridges and prepares to lay them across. The Tibetans attempt to sabotage the bridge; SEU comes up with a second bridge and reinforces security. The fighters use the river as a defensive line, and SEU pounds with artillery. 152mm shells hit defenses and homes. Why? Because they're one and the same. There is no more line between Civilians and Fighters. 280mm shells from a faraway battery fires massive HE shells into the defensive lines; wherever the 280mm guns fire, there is the sound of collapsing fortifications.
The line falls by the 9th day, and all resistance collapses. There are fighters attempting to resist, but
I should mention them; they're the biggest victims here.
The SEU 2nd Army, away from all measures of control by the central Government and very, very, angry at the Tibetans (Understandable; they've taken truly staggering losses) start destroying everything to defeat the enemy. The Generals forbid rape of all sorts. This is the only rule they obey as they sack and destroy the City and its heritage.
The party is notified of this 72 hours after it occurs and only then comes the urgent order to stop. The Party is not pleased; now they have a moral and PR disaster on their hands because an Army couldn't keep their hands to themselves.
The Army immediately fires the General of the 2nd Army for failing to stop this disaster. The Socialist Party states they are punishing the perpetrators (they can't, unless they want to punish the entire 2nd army), and that the ringleaders and the worst have already been arrested.
SEU keeps a tight lid on the scale of the disaster, somewhat because no one knows how bad it is, and party because SEU doesn't want it getting out. Already, the Party is making attempts to fix this and sends out scouts and aid workers; they report that the Western part is relatively untouched and intact, but that the Eastern Part looks like a Tu-101 bomber destroyed everything.
    Death toll? Thousands.
    Property Damage? Millions of Soci.
    PR Damage? Priceless.
The Socialist Party, when it receives the report's only thought is "Gulp.", and then the second thought "We should dissolve the 2nd SEU Army.".
  18. SEU launches a new wave of propaganda.
The enemy is Democracy and Islamic Governments. SEU is currently unwilling to risk their good relationship with the Fascists.
SEU makes attacks against both, stating that Democracy in its current form is simply a Capitalist Scheme to take control of the Capital of a nation. SEU denounces countries without a strong central meritocratic Party or otherwise basically no safeguards against a Capitalist takeover of the Democratic system. SEU proceeds to continue by saying that the inevitable result of a Capitalist Democracy is concentration of wealth, but that the Socialist Meritocracy or Social Democracy is much superior.
SEU attacks Islamic Government for being biased for Islam, and proceeds to state that Islamic Governments are by definition inferior to Meritocratic Governments because their goal is to help God, not the people.
SEU slams the TBF in particular; they are the example of the terrible Democratic Government, spreading lies and parties fighting each other to the point no one can work together. SEU criticizes this as the worst of Democracy. Seriously, there are like 4 parties that want to tear each other to bits!
There are no such problems in SEU; there is only one Party, the Socialist Party, which can make good decisions quickly. They do have a point; SEU's internal efficiency and Economic as well as Environmental Savvyness is scary.
In any case, SEU attempts to fix things for the Tibetans. They send in people to fix houses, and notifies them that around 25,000 troops have been dishonorably discharged and 500 sentenced to various terms in Prison. The occupation begins.
  19. Italian Governmental System, because apparently managing the NPC Fascist Italy is now my job.
Il Duce: The Leader, currently Galeazzo Ciano. The Dictator of the New Roman Empire, although power is far from absolute. Formal title is Il Duce, or "The Leader". Full control of the Roman Armed Forces. The Duce is equal to the Senate in power; his term is 5 years and can be elected repeatedly.
Fascist Senate: A group of around 33% Oligarchs and 67% Normal People. They have substantial power, this cannot be disputed and could in theory remove the Il Duce from power, and would have done so against Mussolini if he hadn't pulled off the taking of Spain for FREE. There are 2 Consoli Minori, two especially powerful Oligarchs. There are also 4 Tribuno Del Popolo. The Fascist Senate is disproportionately representative to Oligarchs but has the trappings of a Democracy. The Senate creates laws, and the Duce executes them, although there is some overlap between them. Elected by the People.
The Courts: Appointed by the Duce and Senate, their power has been summarily carved up between the Senate and Duce more or less evenly.
The Senate is elected semi-democratically, although the Duce having absolute power means that he always secures a reasonable majority of pro-Fascism senators, and the Fascist Senate in turn elects him. The Senate has 1-year terms. The Duce's 5-year terms mean that elections are infrequent and political opposition has trouble building up.
The stability of this system depends on the Duce and the Fascist Senate working together.
  20. SEU has finally removed Poland from rebel hands; the Baltic States are next.
This took abnormally long due to SEU being tired from conflicts in Tibet, but now SEU can finally help UBR end this nonsensical rebellion.
SEU redirects Army resources to the 2 armies fighting in Poland totaling around 240,000 men and orders airstrikes to cripple the rebellion; once and for all.
SEU hates rebellions most of all, and SEU will act to finally destroy this threat to the cohesion of the Socialist Bloc.
    This ends now.
