how is one even supposed to have any moderate-sized iron farm if a villager activation range is 5 blocks? lol.

unless I am misunderstanding, I assume one must activate a villager (in this case within 5 blocks) for iron golems to spawn thus making up a iron farm

100%, im honestly not sure why we need more lol, we must have like a 1:10,00 player to ingot ratio at this point

To be honest, I manage to chew through iron like it's candy... I've been iron farming for years but have somewhat stalled at the amount I have now. If there won't be any iron coming in, I'll slowly go down in my stock.

this is my situation as well. damn it lets not make iron ingots like the toilet paper in-game xD

Is there any way that increasing drop rates for golems could be done? Seems like that would be middle ground solution. I also never have enough iron in stock

How does increasing the drops from golems not solve anything but doing it for iron ore does?

seems as though his intention is to make it so that its not lagging the servers while still having it kinda similar, but youre right at the rate lots of us older, more established players use iron we’d need instant break or something to get that much iron by mining lol and then youd have to smelt it still

I'm wondering the same. I've had an iron farm for over five years and have had a double chest of iron blocks there that I haven't even touched because I use so little

My guess is Iron blocks look nice for industrial or modern style builds

this is the only thing i could thing of also, personally i highly doubt ive gone through a single chest of iron blocks in nearly 5 years

i mean you know anything that requires iron... buckets, rails, minecarts, hoppers, etc.

I set up a lot of beacons, and iron, being the cheapest resource, I use regularly as the only component for beacons.

I have a lot of buckets (probably more than 20 DCs), that uses a lot of iron. Making hoppers also takes a lot (1 DC hoppers = 5 DCs of iron ingots). Pistons also uses a bit, but if you make 3 DCs of them you're down another 3 DCs of iron ingots. I needed a lot of minecarts for something recently, also uses iron. A 40000+ block netherrail? Iron for the rails! Beacons? Lots of iron! So over the years I've used many DCs of iron blocks on these things and more.
