Easier than that. If they wanted to make a generic "you weren't picked book", they could set up a "Empire Mailings" type thing similar to /mail and /promo, and set individual items it to be accessible to certain users only. That list would come straight from the Google form.

Good point, but, it still doesn't feel right.

Imagine yourself being a high-rank staff here. Would you want to send out confirmation messages to thousands of people on a regular basis..? I don't think it can even be automated because it works through Drive.

While it does feel like it wasn't received by any human beings, it feels a lot more right than burdening a staff member who has to deal with confirming it with everyone (unless an automated system was put in place).

It wouldn't be perfectly optimized, but a name scraper could go through Drive and create a generic send list if need be.

To the people asking for a message upon denial:

There is one. Just no-one will ever see it since technically speaking, there are no denials - just "maybes", and "not quite nows".

If they constantly bug people to look at it?

I may not be recalling this correctly, but I swear we just spent the last many posts talking about how there is no staff to normal member confirmation lol.
