  1. I will have to sub your channel now!
    Thanks for the share!

  2. Wow! That sounds amazing! Zelda music is the best <3
I really think the Legend of Zelda is the franchise with the best soundtracks. The handheld ones are great, and the console ones are incredible.
Is there really not a video recording of it?
    Thanks!
  3. I really doubt you could find video of that particular performance, but if you search youtube for Zelda orchestra live, you will probably find something.

  4. "At long last! The final part of the Wario Land medley! I'll have to record the entire medley sometime too, but I'm not sure yet where and how. It'll probably come in due time.
Anyway: I really like this theme! I really wanted to include it as the last theme in the medley, but had some difficulties finding a good midi. Eventually, somebody help me fix a few bad notes, and I could get going!
I actually found the part that repeats five times the hardest, but of course I got to practice it the most, so now it isn't a problem anymore ;) When playing from the start, it does get a little repetitive, but while listening, I don't find that a problem. And oh, the second part is so good! I really love it! I actually think the first halve is mostly meant to serve as a build-up to the second part, and it works great!
This is the last of Kozue Ishikawa we'll hear on this channel in a while, I think, but hopefully we'll cover something from her again in the future!
Now, it's time to upload some themes from other games! ;)
Not that I am done with Wario Land, oh no, definitely not! There are still quite some great themes in these 3 soundtracks. But of course, there are even more great themes in other games I haven't even covered yet!
You'll probably be seeing some more Yoshi's Island soon (I did the Room before Boss theme before).

  5. That was embarrassing, I wanted to upload another video, but got the wrong one  I hope nobody watched it yet >.< Luckily I caught it early!

  6. So, here is the correct one :p

"I recorded this video a while ago, and I learnt it even longer ago. Anyway, now that I upload it, it's actually snowing. At least, it was a few hours before. It seems to be raining now.
This theme plays through the winter season in Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town on the Gameboy Advance.
    I quite like it!
For my performance, I play it twice, one with a piano sound, once with a strings sound. I think my performance was great, but of course the piano and quality of the recording are never perfect.
But I'm not aiming for perfection! I'm very happy with this video!
For this video, be the first to correctly answer the following question to earn 6 CP: how many days long is the winter season in this game?"

  7. Wow. Your songs are really good. For my piano class, I played Legend of Zelda, the title screen. It was fun. :)

  8. That's a very good idea! I might actually try that myself some time!
  9. You look surprisingly like me. but with shorter hair.

  10. Haha, that's interesting :p I'm not sure why I filmed the first three videos like that, you can hardly see what I am playing >.<
I think the perspective I used in my later videos is much better, as it should be about the piano, not about me ;)

  11. A piano video from me! It's been a while!
This is a duet I did with Julia, for school. I had some people from outside our class interested too, though, so I decided to upload it to YouTube!
While this video and performance isn't near perfect (some mishits, poor video quality, a wrong chord at the end...), I think it's more than worthy of being uploaded to YouTube!
Thank you, Julia, I had a lot of fun playing this, and it sounded just as I had hoped it to!
Also thanks to Imco de Gier/Raymusique for the video that was our template for the cover! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEwrrzxHdOk
And of course a big thank you to the composers of Rayman 3's amazing soundtrack: Plume Leonard, Fred Leonard and Laurent Parisi.

So this duet could've been performed better, but with limited time, this is the best we could do. And we're more than content with the result! :)
I hope you enjoy it too!

To earn 5 CP, post a quote from Globox that appears in this game. One quote per person, and every quote can only be used once, so check the comments before you post! ;)

  12. "I recorded some performances on piano today, all from old ST or DOS games! This is the Title Theme from The Great Giana Sisters, composed by Chris Hülsbeck. You might've seen me upload the soundtrack some time ago!
This is a lot of fun to play, for sure, but when playing it a lot, my right hand starts to protest :p
To earn 7 CP, be the first to correctly answer the following question in the comments: what was the protagonist's original, intended name?
You'll probably see more videos from this playing session appear later!"

  13. refound this thread, and, I have a question for you, do you think I should also make one of those threads, I'm playing piano for two years now, and I am able to play Yruma's river flows in you, kiss the rain, satie gymnopedy I, he's a pirate and alot of jazz non-piano solos, I'm thinking about doing the first three, how do you think about it?
  14. Well, sure, you could try! If you think it'd be fun, go for it. It's not easy though, there's quite a lot to making a good video, with recording equipment, a good piano, audio improvement, video editing, processing, perhaps a fancy thumbnail and detailed description... but I'd say just go for it if you feel like it, you'll improve as you're doing your thing.
I will warn you though, don't do it for the fame. I know you wouldn't do that to begin with, but I just felt like adding it in. On most of my videos, I haven't even reached 200 views yet. YouTube is quite saturated with piano players. Not as saturated as it is with Minecraft players, though... ;)

  15. Would you ever play lost in thoughts all alone
  16. I don't know the theme or the game (it's a jRPG, right?), so probably not. If someone'd request it I'd try it of course, but cover requests cost at least 50 CP, which at the moment nobody has, as my YouTube channel doesn't have too many loyal viewers yet. (it might be achievable right now though, as I have many videos with unclaimed CP)
(I just realised people here don't know CP, if you're interested, check http://folk.simpsite.nl/cp)

  17. "I finally uploaded this!
Hm... it feels like the audio and video get slightly out of sync with each other during the playing. Perhaps it might have something to do with the video being 29.97 fps and not 30 fps, which is a slight but perhaps significant difference.
But it shouldn't be too big of a deal, and I can't be bothered trying to fix it anymore.
I recorded this video April 30th. Why did I not upload it before? Because after hours of technical difficulties, I kind of gave up on it.
Until I saw BlueJackG's Yoshi's Island series and wanted to upload this to celebrate the start of a new series. Check out the trailer for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r19q495n2q8
I hope I'll be able to fix the sync issue later, but if it doesn't bother anyone, I won't spend all too much time into it. Lightworks can be very frustrating to work with, because even though it's a very good program, it's very strict and often confusing to amateurs like me... I'm glad to have it, though, as else I probably wouldn't be able to do fancy stuff like the cutscene in the top right of this video.
This theme was of course composed by Koji Kondo, and the game published by Nintendo.
My performance is not flawless, but I'm happy with it.
The question for this time: from what version of Yoshi's Island was this recorded, and how can you tell? (the SNES original or GBA remake? Explain how you can tell so people don't randomly guess).

  18. "I love this theme!! :D
I recorded this together with the Title Theme for The Great Giana Sisters, but I hadn't uploaded this one yet. This theme was also composed by Chris Hülsbeck.
I love my performance of it, the piano sounds SO nice for this piece, and I was able to play it quite well, I think!! ^.^
The question for this time: (you can use Google for this one ;) (in fact, you can for all of them, but I mean, I doubt many of you will know this one without consulting the internet :p))
In what year was this game released?

Here's the main theme and the hall of fame music, for Metropolis on Atari ST! (and perhaps other consoles too)
