Well, now I finished my basement at my Dunesboro vacation home, so I finally have a proper home base detached from the old guardian farm. Thanks, Nickblockmaster! I still need to figure out what materials to use for my Classyville mansion aboveground, though. Dec 15, 2024

If the average temperatures and humidity are similar, why does June feel much hotter than August, November much colder than February/March, and May much hotter than September/October? Is it the daylight hours/sun angle, or that it's warmer/cooler than it has been?
      1. Prairie_Fire
        Prairie_Fire
Because you haven’t adapted to it by then. 60 degrees in April is shorts weather, but 60 degrees in September is cold enough for a jacket.

Yeah, I can kind of understand that. 58 degrees in February through June feels warm, but 62 degrees in August through November feels chilly. (For May, June, August, and September, I'm talking about those temperatures at night and not during daytime, as days in those months are quite hot/humid.)

Not again... Shooting spree in San Diego? NO! If you keep contemplating killing anyone, whether it be yourself or others, get medical help, and if you know of anyone else who is threatening to do those things, refer them to medical help. Mentally ill people need to be cured...

Seriously though, why? Why do some people get joy and satisfaction from hurting, or even killing, others when they have many legal, harmless ways to have fun?

90F on Saturday? Me having trouble getting up until the afternoons? Only hot weather in sight? Humid subtropical climate? Nope. Going out at night instead until the pool gets vacuumed and I can get used to it. I hate when my sweat sticks to me, even if only a small amount.

It's projected to be 89F/90F on Mother's Day weekend. It's warming up way too fast for me... I hate having an extended Winter followed by the usual long, harsh Summers. It's so humid here, and I wouldn't be getting any Vitamin D by just being outside at night.
      1. We3_MPO
        We3_MPO
Screw my intolerance of temperatures not in the 57F-76F range... and of rainy weather... but I hate having my sweat stick to me (ew...), I don't feel comfortable wearing a jacket or long sleeves (and the former can mess my hair up a bit), and because I wear glasses, raindrops piling up on the lenses makes it almost impossible for me to see properly.

And in case you're wondering, as someone who plans to move to Arizona, whether I even get regular dental exams, yes, I do. I'm only 15 and have even already had all four of my wisdom teeth surgically removed by request, and I have only had three cavities (none of which were major, two of which were minor) and zero root canals.

So for those of you looking to move to or considering moving to Tennessee, take my advice: It's a foolish move! While it is warm and pretty here, multiple states are warmer and prettier, allergies here are awful, the LGBT community is oppressed and small (well, except in Nashville), and there are other, more urban states!

Only good thing I can say about it is the roads, and again, there are other states doing a good job about that too.

Cinco de Mayo was not a good day for me. I was late to the PFLAG meeting, and my boredom while waiting in the car and my repeated stress (and it being May) caused me to open back up to this guy I "like" but who has hurt me multiple times before. (continued)

Wish me luck as I get this figured out! Although I do have a plan (it actually consists of a Plan A and Plan B) I'm referring to as Operation PLUCAS (Potential Lovers Under Control And Surveying), I'm not sure whether it'll work or not. I have, however, told all of my friends except the two guys and a third friend who doesn't support gay rights about Operation PLUCAS.

Also, for those of you who are wondering why it being May matters, his birthday is May 18th and Summer Break begins in mid or late (depending on the year) May, and those things, especially in combination, cause me to be extra stressed about it. It was what stretched me to my breaking point last year.

I still find it kind of hard to believe that on February 13, we had frogs croaking, flowers blooming, and ants leaving their ant hills, but on March 12, we had so much snow (completely covering the mid Spring foliage) that even some of the tallest grass in my yard was buried.

Nowadays, it seems to be either the hot air that is more water than air (from late April to mid October) or the air that is cold but not humid (from late October to mid April, except mid and late February is nice instead). I hate having pure Winter and Summer, with those summers being extremely hot but not arid. :/

Has anyone seen (in person) palm trees in Tennessee (outdoors)? I've heard that a few types can grow here, and do grow in places with similar climates like Washington D.C., Virginia Beach, and NYC and am fascinated by these majestic plants, but I've never seen any in person.

I know I'm late, but deciduous trees are the worst to clean up after, and they look ugly (in my opinion anyways) when they change to all those colors then eventually shed their ugly Autumn leaves.

Palms, on the other hand, are evergreen, and as with any group of multiple plant species, how much maintenance is necessary depends on the species.

Yup. Spent a couple years out there back in 2004-2005 and will be moving back out there within the next 1-2 months. But to clarify: It is really hot on the surface, but there is next to no humidity out there. I would argue that 110 degrees there is the equivalent to 85 in the southeast US with 90% humidity. It feels a lot milder than it actually is.

That being said, for the uninitiated it may not be fun. Usually the first sign that you're dehydrated is when you're laying on the ground trying to figure out how you got there. It's so dry out there that sweat literally evaporates as it forms.

Hello, fellow EMC players. The below info shows everything you need to know about me.

I am a founder of the Minecraft Paradise Outpost on SMP6. That is where I spend most of my time on EMC. We mainly specialize in building, but we also try to make our transportation systems better than you'd find most other places and have farms to obtain various items. We have a very organized democracy. If you would like to join, please PM me. Make sure you check often for an application, but keep in mind that it may be a while and that you're not guaranteed to get accepted. We do have every biome from before 1.13. Unfortunately, we only have one Mushroom Island, and only one Ice Spikes that is completely within our boundaries, but we do have more Ice Spikes partially in our boundaries, and we have two each of even Badlands and Jungle.

I have various hobbies in real life, as well. They include riding around, drawing, partying, studying maps, studying the weather, playing outside (if it's not hot or too cold), hanging out with my friends, and of course, gaming. I even live on a 160+ acre farm where we have four-wheeling trails and several creeks. The property owners, my parents, and I enjoy what we have, and we always try to think about what we can do to improve even more.

I have a Jack Russell Terrier that has been with us since July 2012. She's still going strong, even after all these years!

I do play other games, too. They include, but aren't limited to, Cities:Skylines, Banished, Transport Fever 2 and American Truck Simulator. The only multiplayer server on a game I currently play on is EMC, because most others seem like they're not interesting, too small, or not good servers for my kind of person.

I am also a minority in two ways. First, I am on the autism spectrum. I was diagnosed when I was only two, and am very lucky compared to most autistic people. I would like to tell you all, as someone living with it, that it can be hard, but isn't always extreme. If you would like to know more about Autism, there is a documentary called Autism in Love. I recommend it, because the words are from four people living with Autism and their families. Coincidentally, April 2nd is both my mother's birthday and Autism Awareness Day. Secondly, I also am part of the LGBT+ community because I am gay. I haven't had a boyfriend yet as of May 2024, but am trying to find one. Fortunately, my mom, friends, grandmothers, closest cousins and aunts/uncles are supportive, and I wish everyone was this lucky. I support equality for all (including animal rights), too. I believe that every human has value as long as they do what they enjoy without being mean to others, and that animals and even plants are very valuable (and in the case of animals, I believe should be equal) forms of life too.

I do also study climate and the weather, and I was fortunate to be born into the subtropical climate of the southeastern USA. I was born in Middle Tennessee and have lived there all my life. My favorite season is Summer because I hate the cold and love storms and bright sunlight, plus I prefer green trees over dead-looking or autumn-colored ones and like flowers. My least favorite is Winter for the reasons stated before, combined with my seasonal anxiety in November, December and January. I prefer autumn over spring due to the warmer, more stable weather and continued green/barren landscape, although I'd still choose late spring over late autumn for the same reasons as summer and winter. I even have a thread about the seasons.

Do you like to draw and/or look at drawings? I do have a thread where I post some of my digital drawings, and as stated above, I do like to draw; but it's mostly (not entirely, of course) summer/spring stuff because I like colorful stuff and green stuff, and value life in general. The link is: https://empireminecraft.com/threads/we3s-art-thread.75122/

I hope you found this interesting. If you would like to talk to me, you may PM me, but as always, please do not be rude.
