Hopefully they don't use the VPN service I am on, I would hate to have to disable it when I want to use EMC. I find using a proxy necessary now due to myself attending a large university. They have nothing to show for their lives, so they attempt to bring down other's.
Long story short, someone hacked a staff account using proxy and then used Square to broadcast messages correct?

If I read what Aikar was saying correctly, they got the password from a list that formatted as "username-password", generally password lists would be too difficult to deal with for the average user (I consider them average since they did almost nothing with their window of opportunity).
Hackers make those lists and sell to players. The use VPNs to hide their real identity on the internet. I have used several VPNs in the past as i used to do major hacking on every game on Xbox live. I retied from that 2 years ago. But i know several loop holes in a lot of the VPN services that you can access and find the real information. Just takes lots of time, and a very powerful connection to take down the server and then bypass the security on the VPN. once you are passed that you can get into all the other servers that log the accounts and info. I have done this 2 times, as people used to use them and hack into my networks (Or at least try). I used to have a friend that would hack and take Xbox accounts, and he would sell the, that's how he paid for his school. I have never sold any accounts, and never will. I find it very rude. I try to stop people that do that now.
I use Private Internet Access. Probably not the most secure one, but the university I go to is large enough that it wouldn't be worth their time to try and catch me.
I'm talking about Tor, which is something that is used by highly illegal activities and has no place to be used on EMC.
I was asking as my school, finally blocked p2p, and they also blocked several vpn's from connecting. So i need to get a VPN now, Sad, as i have not had to use one since i retied hacking xbox live. **I hacked Xbox live for a Non-Money Making service. I provided free services to players to get what they wanted on games. Only reason i would get hacked is all my files where made 100% by me and i did not release to anyone** Just so everyone is clear what i did.
Gotchya. Just wanted to make sure that it wasn't some general, run-of-the-mill proxy that had legitimate uses to it.
Interesting little situation we had here. It blows my mind that anyone could be so callous as to try to ruin the gameplay experience for others just for their own entertainment. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that all those who engage in such schadenfreude have been raised by rabid wolves.
Sometimes English just doesn't have a word that properly expresses exactly what you want to say. That word is one of the few German words that I know simply for the sheer clarity of its meaning.
I would have to say that EMC has some of the best staff members, they were all on it the second it happend and they were determined to figure out what had happened. *applauds in the background*
