  10. Lol, I do really like the villager trolling:p (the gifs of them really lag my browser though>.<)
  11. I guess up will be one, right two, down three, and left four.
  12. I can see a whole new generation of trolling videos now... Here's a sample script.

Two players walk into a cave. They are equipped in full diamond armor, enchanted with only the best of magic. It had taken them days to find all the diamonds and lapis for it... Ah, 1.8 was hard at times. But now, with an inventory full of goodies, they were ready to go home.
xFluffyBunx: I'm full. How bout you?
    Bumpkinia12: Same.
xFluffyBunx: You remember the way back?
    Bumpkinia12: Yeah, this way.
However, soon the two newbies are wandering through an unexplored cavern.
Bumpkinia12: Well, it isn't a total loss. Look, diamonds!
As Bumpkinia12 mines the diamonds, xFluffyBunx finds a dungeon. He destroys the spawner after a brief scuffle with some skeletons and takes the loot.
xFluffyBunx: Bumpki, look at all this loot! Here, get rid of some of your useless stuff and take this!
However, even after throwing out cobble, gravel, and dirt, they have mined too much to carry all the loot... and there are still a saddle and a nametag remaining.
xFluffyBunx: Hey, you said earlier your sword is nearly broken. Just toss that away, I can defend the two of us until we get back to home base. And I can throw out this milk; we won't need it anyhow.
Bumpkinia12 throws away her weakened sword and xFluffyBunx does the same with his milk. As they walk back up the path, Bumpkinia12 spots some wood.
    Bumpkinia12: What's this? A sign!
xFluffyBunx: Click for a diamond block? We can turn that into diamonds and stack it with the ones you just mined!
Bumpkinia12 clicks the button, and a Wither spawns behind the stone that the sign had been on.
    xFluffyBunx: Run!
Bumpkinia12: Oh, gosh, I left my sword, xFluffy!
xFluffyBunx: Leave it! Look, 20 charged creepers somehow spawned between us and your sword! We have to go!
They sprint down the path as the Wither finishes charging. There is a massive explosion, and soon Wither skulls are flying past them like lightning, the Wither closing in behind... a skull strikes xFluffyBunx square in the back.
xFluffyBunx: Take my sword! My lives are Withering away! I will distract it! Run, go!
Just as xFluffyBunx tosses the sword to Bumpkinia12, a Wither skull slams into him, hurling xFluffyBunx and all his hard-earned possessions, except for his sword, into a pool of lava. Bumpkinia12 picks up the sword and looks at the Wither.
Bumpkinia12: I shall avenge thee, FluffyBun! Prepare to be vanquished, ye horrid foebeast!
Bumpkinia12 charges the Wither. After a hard battle, only one of the two enemies escape alive.
Bumpkinia12: Served him right. I'll create a beacon and share it with Fluffy back at the base. But I'm down to a half heart... Better eat some food.
As Bumpkinia12 eats some melon slices, something sneaks up behind her. The last thing she hears is the combined his of four charged creepers.
UberZak88: Ah, I love vanishing. So much fun. And these craters are simply spectacular! Looks like BumpkinBun and Fluffy won't be back here again!
The troller laughs to himself, plucks up Bumpkinia's items, and moves off invisibly into the darkness of another cave to prepare a trap for other players.

However, this does look to be a great snapshot. Upside down buttons bring tones of possibilities into the game. And I could enjoy having some villager slaves, er, hired hands, to help me farm. :p
  13. I'm fine with the changes to enchanting, but these facts about 1.8 makes me not want to play Minecraft anymore.
I don't why, but people, like JL2579, don't seem to give up on farming when mechanics are changed. It seems that the Zipkrowd crew is on a philosophy to "never give up" regardless of their lost effort.

  14. The reason that they don't give up is that despite common belief, iron and gold farms will not be broken!!! :p They just need moar editz.

  15. With how many people farm iron and gold, I'm afraid that the all of the facilities are going to cause more lag (server-wise) unless the new dimensional thread system will help it. This could lead to a chain of events for any public SMP server:

Too many entities-----Server strains-----complaints-----loss of players

*And finally, this isn't any player's fault. It's a choice that Mojang did to the game.

Or, they could introduce a new mob capacity type to the game for golems. Iron golems are the only natural-spawning mobs without a true capacity. Their limit is affected by the amount of doors in a village instead, but only if they're in one.
  16. Again, as I stated before in some thread... one of the edits is that you don't afk. Thus, no afk, no lag.

  17. Some people will afk for a short amount of time and then come back to grind. If they don't return within the hour or so... the golems will build up.
Luckily EMC has an entity counter, so there wouldn't be more than 250 golems in an area (there might still be lag, but not too bad.).
  18. The only thing that's going to get abused by EMC and allowed to stay is BUD switches it seems like. (Do those work on servers, anyway?)

Iron farms, infinite villagers, enchanting and repairing, trading with villagers for fresh diamond gear...
....why does it feel like Mojang is determined to break all of that?

Granted, for some of that, it's rather nice changes. But seriously, what's wrong with iron farms that they have to work so hard to break them? (And fail, mind you, but why must they try so hard anyway?)
