  1. The Italians have offered their formal surrender. As promised, the first ever legal election has been held across the revived Balkan Federation.

    Greece - 78 seats
    Stamados: 43 seats (+11)
    Alliance of Conservatives & Democrats: 17 (+1)
    Alliance of Liberals & Democrats: 10 (+9)
    Alliance of Nationalists: 4 (-19)
    Alliance of Communists: 4 (-2)

    Serbia - 71 seats
    Stamados: 36 (+15)
    Alliance of Nationalists: 14 (-6)
    Alliance of Conservatives & Democrats: 13 (+/-)
    Alliance of Liberals & Democrats: 4 (+1)
    Alliance of Communists: 4 (-10)

    Croatia - 39 seats
    Alliance of Nationalists: 12 (+1)
    Stamados: 11 (+3)
    Alliance of Conservatives & Democrats: 7 (+2)
    Alliance of Communists: 5 (-3)
    Alliance of Liberals & Democrats: 4 (-3)

    Bosnia - 28 seats
    Stamodos: 13 (+10)
    Muslim Alliance: 13 (-2)
Alliance of Orthodox Serbs: 2 (-7)

    Slovenia - 15 seats
    Alliance of Nationalists: 7 (+6)
    Stamados: 6 (-1)
    Alliance of Conservatives & Democrats: 1 (-2)
    Alliance of Liberals & Democrats: 1 (-2)

    Macedonia - 13 seats
    Stamados: 5 (-1)
    Alliance of Conservatives & Democrats: 4 (+1)
    Alliance of Liberals & Democrats: 4 (+1)

    Albania - 13 seats
    Stamodos: 6 (+6)
    Muslim Alliance: 6 (-2)
    Alliance of Conservatives & Democrats: 1 (+1)

    Montenegro - 4 seats
    Stamados: 3 (+1)
    Alliance of Conservatives: 1 (+1)
    Alliance of Nationalists: 1 (+/-)

THE SECOND SENATE OF THE BALKAN FEDERATION
    1955

    Stamados (Red): 123 (+44)
Alliance of Conservatives & Democrats (Blue): 44 (+4)
Alliance of Nationalists (Grey): 38 (-22)
Alliance of Liberals & Democrats (Yellow): 23 (+6)
    Muslim Alliance (Green): 19 (-4)
Alliance of Communists (Maroon): 13 (-20)
Alliance of Orthodox Serbs (Purple): 2 (-7)

Once again, Stamodos is by far the largest party in the Senate and has made outstanding gains all across the Balkan Federation, but does not have the seats for a majority - it is just 8 seats away from having the 131 needed. To get this majority and not be hampered by opposition to his strongly left-wing policies, Aleksič has created a coalition with the Alliance of Communists. Their condition was that their leader, an Albanian man called Joshan Rama, succeed Apostolis Sarkotis as Deputy Prime Minister.

The first ever Presidential election took place at the same time. The President is the Head of State and has the power to dissolve the Senate and declare war, and will always be from the first or second largest party. The President is elected every two years. Stamados fielded Nikola Nassatos, the former Foreign Secretary, as their candidate; the Conservatives fielded Apostolis Sarkotis, the former Deputy Prime Minister and their incumbent leader. Nassatos won with 60% of the national vote.

    The Government
    President: Nikola Nassatos (Stamados)
    Prime Minister: Dragoje Aleksič (Stamados)
Deputy Prime Minister: Joshan Rama (Communists)
Parties of Government: Stamados + Alliance of Communists
    Government Seats: 136
  2. Before the Italians surrendered they had pushed all the way back into Slovenia back to the location where they were pushed from, and Venice was choked by sea from the SCN.

Once the war was called off however, it left nearly 10,000 Italians surrounded. Out of those 10,000, 3,000 got away, 6,000 surrendered, and 1,000 were killed.
The BLA has 6,000 Italians from the war in their hands, their opinion on the dues of their enemy is on them, but the ones who committed the atrocities can be straight sent to brutal Sahara Work Camps, more brutal than the Gulag ever was.
  3. Nation Name: Republic Union of Mexico
    Acronym: RUM
Participating Countries: Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, el Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Cuba
Main Exports: Food, Cheap Electronics and Manufacturing, Petroleum, Textiles, Oils and minerals
    Form of Government: Western Capitalism
National Personality: Personality, Reformative, wants to become wealthy
    Economic Format: Western Capitalism
    Map Color: Light blue
Origins: Almost a decade after The Federation had fallen apart, rustling began in the Central American Countries. The Federation left Mexico hungry and broken, and although the Caliphate helped out as an ally with aid, funding and military supply, leaving The Federation was a shock and set the nation back. However, the region is awaking and grumbling, the nations of Central America are wanting to be redeemed and unite, they want a union which will eradicate poverty, hunger, and their slumped depression. That was answered, as Capitalist Democratic political party took control, and with the consent of all other nations, united as one, into the Republic Union of Mexico

  4. The Sunayyad Caliphate sees the union and congratulates their ally, and insists on keeping the Alliance with Mexico, now the Republic Union of Mexico at its clean relationship before. The Caliphate offers to export petroleum to help the nation, and will offer in sending aid to the shattered communities

  5. ooc: FINALLY!!!!!
ic: The UBR welcomes the unification of these countries and wishes them well, sending a bit of aid.
ooc again: I'm planning a top secret infrastructure plan involving some elements of the military, some elements of land reclamation, and it's gonna take a while to write up, so if I'm not very active for a bit, that's why.
    Joy_the_Miner and Otus_NigRum like this.
  6. The Soviet Union quietly welcomes the RUM.
While SEU questions the existence of the RUM and its alliance with the Caliphate, SEU can't say that to their face.
The Soviet Peacekeepers have intervened in Rwanda after reports of Genocide. The Hutu is massacring the Tutsi, and the Soviet Peacekeepers have finally intervened. The DRC is flexing its power and asserting its dominance over South Africa and showing the world that unlike South Africa, it is willing to and does assist human rights. In neighboring Burundi, the Hutu are being massacred in droves. The DRC has intervened by invading both nations; now the DRC has an excuse to try out their new weapons against defenseless fourth world countries and install Socialist, Pro-DRC Socialist Governments.
This is a pretty clear power play. DRC is trying to show that they are stronger than South Africa, but that's not the effect that's happening, it's just tearing the Socialist bloc apart as the various powerful nations within it try to take the bloc their own ways. Despite the fact that SEU is by far the most powerful nation, the bloc is way too large for SEU to effectively control and to lead.
The SEU is just tired of infighting, but it's about to get a lot worse. The next 12 or so years are going to not be the best for SEU. Sure, they'll have their good days but DRC and South Africa will be anything but allies (despite being both part of the Soviet Union), which is very bad when a malevolent nation that is very economically powerful is next to them and encroaching in them.

  7. The Caliphate doesn't do much peacekeeping and aid, however, they have done a lot for their allies and Islamic brothers, especially Indonesia and Malaysia, the countries who suffered from inoperable damages from the SEU.

The only reason the Caliphate has little reason to aid other nations is because it drains their own little resources. The Caliphate needs all it can get, it is a greedy move yes, but in Post WW1 world it's survival of the fittest.

The Caliphate has however helped Senegal, and effectively turn them over to the Islamic Union. Kenya is being supported well by the NAE, showing the DRC that they aren't as tolerable to supporting humanity as they wished they were.

Ultimately, the Caliphate has a mass host of allies, although in actuality the majority are not apart of Islam and are closer in terms to Socialism, it's a big break for the Caliphate which gives them breathing room.
  8. RUM acquires technology for color NTSC TV broadcasting for their regions. This includes Line 21 Closed Captions for the hearing impaired in both Spanish, and English. Though they lack social services for those who need it in the public of their own nations. The public demands more public services but money raised for such occasion(s) goes to the government, which is bought out by some special interests while implementing some half-baked measure as an "illusion" that the public is getting what they want.

Meanwhile, the higherups in the government increase their mining for petroleum, oil, and mineral exports to other nations to maximize profits for the regions within the Republic.

  9. Mexico has over 601 tanks which were sold to them by the Caliphate.
They are nearly 600 of the M4 Saladin model, mostly the M4A3E8 Saladin, all except for the Super Saladin, the latest and final model of the Caliphate.
OOC: The M4 Saladin is basically the Caliphate version of the M4 Sherman from WW2, albiet a bit more resistent to rough desert terrain. Considering the Regular M4 is the 1st Generation Saladins, and the Super Saladin is the 3rd Generation, RUM has the 2nd Generation, and over 600 of them.

OH, and also 1 MBT-5 Omega, which is effectively a Centurion Tank IRL but in a Caliphate version.

Btw, OOC: means Out Of Chat, meaning you can do OOC: and type in any questions, comments, concerns or anything that would be addressed to us, the players, basically like using brackets ( )
  10. The SNE welcomes RUM and gladly offers some resources, such as food water, and a small amount of oil, as a sign of friendliness. If RUM accepts this offer the SNE would be happy to provide a few other things that they ask for.

Right now I'm the SNE the first election in a while is happening. It's between the socialist party and the fascist party. While many oppose fascism, there's still a large amount of people who do like it. This already is stirring some conflict with civilians but no violence yet. The election results will come in 10 posts.
  11. ooc: I thought it was out of context. Anyway, it's the same initialism.
Also, the game progressed way more quickly than I thought it would, so I didn't have time to do the triannual UBR elections, so.. the results are the same as last election cycle. Just a "coincidence" ;)

  12. Venezuela and Chile begin arguing about the RUM.
Venezuela refuses to work with Capitalists, stating that the "Socialist" ideology is the enemy of Capitalism. SEU thinks differently but many of its allies are fervently religious so SEU keeps its mouth shut.
Chile thinks that good relations with RUM would be helpful to the "Socialist" cause, and argues that pragmatism is never a bad thing.
Two of the three Socialist Nations of America are fighting. Colombia will become one pretty soon, making it four. Now, Venezuela is without doubt the second-most powerful nation in America. Argentina is pretty independent, but is still formally a part of SNE and pays taxes to them.
Socialist South America is in jeopardy. Socialist Africa is in jeopardy. Both due to the age-old Socialist problem, infighting.
SEU is way too tired, and way too busy trying to fix the environment to care.
    RULE OF THUMB ABOUT COLONIES.
    • If they are close to you, outright annexation and integration is possible.
      • EX: SEU Annexation of Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Belarus. Suanyyad Caliphate expansion.
    • If they're a bit further away, one should consider making them a puppet state.
      • EX: Franco's Spain, controlled by Mussolini.
    • If they're an ocean-away, self-governance and tributary state is the only way to prevent a revolt.
      • EX: UBR annexation of Guianas.
Venezuela is exporting refined Oil. They are expanding their Heavy Oil tech thanks to SEU, and have become enormously rich as a result. They decide to compete with the Caliphate not by trying to produce more or better oil (that's a fool's errand. Venezuelan Oil is of lower quality than Caliphate Oil, because Venezuelan Oil is Heavy Oil) but to get the oil there faster, and to make sure that the Oil is cheaper.
Venezuela has told SEU that in next year's fiscal budget, they'll request weapons. Lots of them. Venezuela is just swimming in money, and they're using that money to both further develop the Oil industry and to diversify the economy as well as develop infrastructure. They've planned so much they're going into debt, but they'll pay it off in a year at most.
  13. Pakistan argues in the WCA summit, wanting to develop a Nuclear Weapons program, which the Caliphate refuses, as it would only cause tension between Pakistan and India even more, and the Caliphate has Pakistan apart of the Nuclear Defense Pact anyway.

Brazil is developing a Nuclear Weapons program, although small, they are being funded by the Caliphate and are given old X-4 and X-3 Rockets. Pakistan uses this example as a call to develop their own Nuclear arsenal, and the WCA is highly consulting it.

A vote will be made on if Pakistan should have a Nuclear Program or not, the vote results will suffice in 3 posts.

The NAE is becoming very strong, and has benefited heavily from the start of what everyone calls the Caliphate's Golden Age. The Caliphate's influence and power in Africa is incredibly strong.
  14. SEU tells South Africa and the DRC to work together to defeat the NAE influence in Africa...
    Please? Pretty Please?
They blatantly ignore SEU and continue fighting for influence over Socialist Africa. They are now arguing only one of them should have Nuclear Weapons because there just isn't enough room for the two of them.
South America is doing slightly better. Chile and Venezuela have reached an agreement to each have a defensive Nuclear Arsenal of 100 non-Thermonuclear (non-Fusion) weapons each in order to counter Brazil, which can be expanded as needed to counter Brazil. They also agree that their arsenal should have at least 80% of the total yield of Brazil.
The Socialist Faction has become too large for SEU to effectively control. SEU is trying to do way too much at once.
  15. RUM accepts the SNE gifts and items.

RUM looks for a new way to electrically power it's dense population in the center of Mexico without spending much money on fossil fuel. More research is required for such an idea. Meanwhile, small villages are now just getting electrical power but the electric companies have been cheap, running their power generators at 40hz instead of the standard 60hz. All just to save a few bucks. Residents complain about the very obvious flickering of the streetlights and the lights in their homes. Under social pressure, the electric companies speed up their generators to the standard of 60hz. Meanwhile, most of the money recieved for some exported goods was kept in the top 1% of the nation while the lower 99% of the country barely saw much increase in their wallets.

RUM acknowledges some possible social tension with Venezuela and offers some mined elements from Mexico as a peace offering.

  16. SEU-Tibet negotiations have completely broken down.
This was primarily because SEU gave very unreasonable deals and refused to accept anything else.
In all fairness to SEU however, they could only give unreasonable deals. If they accepted anything reasonable half of SEU's ethnic minorities would rebel and demand independence, including the Russians. SEU would fall apart within a month at most.
SEU imposes strict rules on Tibet such as
    • Requiring reincarnating people to fill out a form (actually very simple and loose with requirements, SEU just wants to insult Tibet). SEU demands the Dalai Lama fill out this form.
    • Removing Tibet's status as an Autonomous Region.
    • Removing Tibet's priority status for government funding.
    • Removing all barriers protecting Tibet's independent culture.
    • Restricting Tibetian Buddhism.
The Han Chinese and the Sinosphere demands strict punishment for the unruly Tibetians, who until now had been given many benefits. The Socialist Party (who had been itching to punish Tibet because they had gotten fed up with them) gladly obliges to Public Opinion and imposes these rules.
SEU holds a referendum to decide whether to punish Tibet. SEU knows that they will come under fire for this decision and decides to make sure that they have the people on their side.
The referendum is 68% YE, 22% NAY and 10% ABSTAIN. Keep in mind SEU rarely does referendums, and only uses them when SEU is nervous that the people might not like it. Also, they follow them only when there is a supermajority of over 67%. SEU is just happy the people like it, because they've wanted to attack Tibet for a while because Tibet is the opposite of SEU.
The people are fed up with Tibet's demands. Unreasonable or not, Tibet is now in a really bad spot, having lost the SEU's patience and all leverage.
  17. Venezuela demands SEU attack RUM to bring Socialism. Clearly, the filthy Capitalists are oppressing the citizens of RUM. Chile is also souring towards RUM, but does not support attacking RUM yet.
SEU is in no position to attack RUM; SEU is way too busy to war with the RUM, much less the Sunayyad Caliphate. SEU is trying to make themselves environmentally friendly and to turn their industry clean.
While their effort is paying off, they are neglecting their massive faction which is collapsing in on itself because of infighting.
  18. The Caliphate makes a moving stance towards Venezuela by proudly sailing their prized Warships past Trinidad, just outside of Venezuela's waters. This is a stance of power to show Venezuela that they have a huge ego (The Caliphate and the SEU probably have a bigger ego) and that all Venezuela ships are inferior. If Venezuela wanted to have a war, they would get rocked to the bottom so hard.

Venezuela's oil expansion was brought to the Caliphate's eye, and most importantly the biggest oil company in the ENTIRE world, Sunayyad Aramco.
They stretch their muscle by increasing exports to RUM and to South America. Venezuela sells a lot of oil to buyers who are close, but mostly buyers who are poor, specifically South American countries. A lot of rich countries focus solely on Caliphate oil, it is the best in the world. (See, clash of the egos)

Most South American countries are buying the Caliphate's oil, but the poorer they are, the more low quality Venezuela oil they are purchasing.
The Caliphate is keeping RUM close to them. Why? Food, the only way the Caliphate can run is on food, and is one way to defeat them. However, if you were to defeat them in a war against food back then they would crumble easily. However, due to the fact that they are opening up to massive allies with large food exports and are now capitalizing on South Nubian agriculture, defeating them via food is much, much more difficult.

OOC: I think i'm fine with a golden age in the 60s and flatlining later on, but I have a slight idea of making the Caliphate similar to a Republic somewhere in the 90s. I think another small golden age should start around before that.
  19. World Centre Alliance Countries Personalities

Sunayyad Caliphate: The Big Brain, focuses on trade, oil and business, the biggest military and the most advanced economy, quite proud and pushy.

Canada: Quiet, calm, and reserved. Stays to their own ambition and reformation. Government is supportive of the Caliphate, but not openly.

Brazil: Big and proud they are a "nobody can touch me but I won't say it much" type of country. Knows they are the best but is reserved to themselves

New Abyssinian Empire: Very traditional and core to their values, very focused on becoming a world superpower and doesn't take crap from anyone else. Basically like the Sunayyad Caliphate's right hand man and most important ally.

Pakistan: Whiny child who wants to get their own way, still holds grudges against India, but has set some of it aside to improve themselves.

Bulgaria: One of the "why am I here?" countries. They are kind of like the bottom scrap of the bucket, they are in an alliance but don't know why. They do receive a massive amount of oil and trade benefits however, which has led to their rapid growth.

The WCA's recent vote on whether Pakistan should be given the right to develop a Nuclear Arsenal has been decided.

In every member of the WCA are representatives of the various ministers, goveners and leaders etc. who run the entire show, including the "President."

Caliphate Member Votes: 28. Majority say NAY
Canada Member Votes: 8. Majority say NAY
NAE Member Votes: 18. Majority say YEA
Brazil Member Votes: 12. Majority say YEA
Pakistan Member Votes: 16. Majority say YEA
Bulgaria Member Votes: 3. Majority say NAY

    YEA: 60%
    NAY: 40%

Conclusion: Pakistan has the rights to their own funding towards a Nuclear Program, allowing them to construct Thermonuclear and Atomic Weaponry, ICBM's, and SSBN's. However, due to the hostility towards India, they are maxed out of production at 30% of the Caliphate's total Nuclear arsenal, WHICH IS A LOT.

Brazil Currently has a production output of nearly 16% of the Caliphate's total Nuclear Arsenal, which means the Caliphate is a massive hand in nuclear power. Even though Brazil is beginning to produce fast, look at it in number perspectives

If the SEU and Caliphate are both tied nearly at the number 100, the next most powerful nuclear power is still at number 20.
  20. RUM notices an increase in military performance from the SEU and the Caliphate. The people in Mexico and southern territories all agree that diplomatic solutions are on the table and that there is no need for war. Any additional offerings are on the table for keeping things calm between everyone.

In other news, as an attempt to get off of fossil fuels, most power plants have began to slowly transition from coal to oil. Unfortunately this leads to thick CO2 emissions and less power output. In light of this, some scientists in Mexico have thought of a way to utilize a potential dangerous element named "Uranio" (Uranium in Spanish) in a nuclear plant to generate vast amounts of energy at a very cheap monthly rate. More research needs to be done to see if this can be done properly, minimizing possible health risks to Mexico's residents in surrounding towns. Oil and mining exports have lessened as a result in an attempt to "green" themselves. The public is wary of the risks of this new dangerous element, but if it's easier on their payments each month, they are willing to take a shot at it for a bit. Short term economic stress may follow as a new technological breakthrough may be on the horizon, hoping to lead to stronger economy once the newer form of energy is in use.
