  1. If anything, the Socialists are wrecking themselves.
I'm experimenting with a game that has winners and losers.
I'll see how it goes and implement it into the next round if it works out.

  2. The SEU decides that the infrastructure of the Soviet Union must be able to be cut off from the rest of the world and able to survive. The SEU is savvy enough to know that should a World War 3 begin, all the trade that keeps up the global economy will come crashing down and all the infrastructure that is connected in the world will fail, and everyone will likely be too busy trying to fix themselves to actually fight, and then the war devolves into a race of "who can recover faster". SEU is at a massive disadvantage in this fight, they much prefer slow and long wars where SEU has time to relax and let their enemies bang their head at a brick wall.
SEU decides to do this race at peacetime where they aren't under pressure to recover faster and the extra infrastructure can have axillary uses, as well as actually be quality and not built to last 5 years and then fall apart, which would be bad. SEU secretly decides to build more infrastructure, at taxpayer expense. They literally cannot cut more from the military (the favorite punching bag of SEU when they need funds for their long-term projects), the military is threatening to stage a coup and nuke the Government if they cut any more. They cannot afford MiG-21s/T-55s/New Ships in significant numbers and are being kept afloat by foreign purchases of weapons.
In any case, SEU is investing money in the field of Computers. SEU scientists made a breakthrough with Transistors a few years ago, and SEU will need all the Computing Power it can get to go to the Moon. SEU promises to buy the military new and fancy Computers for their Radar and targeting systems. The Government and the Military are at each other's throats (mostly because the Government refuses to respect the military), and the Government has finally given a concession to calm the Military down (when your military is threatening to stage a Coup, you know things are bad and you've messed up.)
  3. The Caliphate looks to invest in computing technologies as well, using it for their own space craft and their radar.

OOC: I call moon next round, I still don't like that I have to be secluded to a random generator, even though I put way more research in. In NN 2 I call all dibs on India/Pakistan (the British Raj), Australia, and some other south asian countries.
  4. We can decide that later.
We're not even halfway through NN2. NN3 can wait.
  5. The Bad Side of the SEU Government:
    • If it needs to do something, it does it, no matter who dies, no matter who gets hurt, no matter what is destroyed. It will do it. It will not stop until the task at hand is finished.
    • Sometimes, it screws up. The SEU Government screwing up is very bad, because it has absolute power over the SEU.
    • They never acknowledge they were wrong. They act to fix it, but they never acknowledge they were wrong unless they screwed up big-time or the Public gets angry.
    • They are very paranoid. They shut down any discussion looking to actually suggest an alternative to the current system.
The Good side of the SEU Government:
    • It does what needs to be done. If the action is a net benefit, it does it. No amount of selfish protests will stop them from doing what is right.
    • They screw up correspondingly less than other World Governments. The SEU Government is very effective.
    • They always work to fix what they have wronged (although this worsens things somethings)
    • That paranoia works in both ways. It is terrified of being overthrown so it gives the people no reason to overthrow them.
Gonna be making a reference text on Battleships eventually...
    Also, Guide to Nuclear Reactors:
    RBMK (Users: SEU)
    • Pros: Very cheap to build and to fuel and requires little maintenance.
    • Cons: If left unchecked goes boom due to positive void coefficient. Very unsafe (very unsafe in Nuclear Reactor terms is still quite safe though.)
LWR: Can be divided into two segments. All uses light water as coolant.
    • PWR (Users: Sunayyad Caliphate, most of Soviet Union)
      • Pros: Simple and cheap to build, as well as having military applications. Very stable with negative void coefficient.
      • Cons: Expensive to maintain and requires large amounts of enrichment.'
    • BWR (Users: DRC, Japan)
      • Pros: Ideal for peaceful use, simple, very safe.
      • Cons: Large and inefficient, difficult to operate.
    PHWR (Users: Venezuela, Panama)
    • Pros: Cheap fuel, no need to enrich Uranium, efficient and versatile.
    • Cons: Expensive Heavy Water, tends to be unsafe and expensive.
    FUTURE REACTORS
MSR (Users: None, SEU experimenting with use.)
    • Pros: Safe and very efficient, if something bad happens short of magic the reactor cannot fail, as well as being able to produce Weapons-Grade Plutonium on its own.
    • Cons: Corrosion risks, onsite chemical plant required.
CANDU (Users: None, Canada experimenting with use.)
    • Pros: Technically a subset of Heavy Water and has all its advantages, but safer.
    • Cons: Still relatively unsafe and still expensive.
FBR (Users: None, SEU experimenting with use)
    • Pros: Makes more fuel than it eats, little Nuclear Waste.
    • Cons: Expensive to use, some designs prone to fire.
  6. I wrote a whole goddamn essay on War for 30-40 minutes. It was huge and explained the Economical Facet of War, such as natural resources, manpower and industry. I decided to write it as a reference text for future NN Games, because I'm Game Master and I have to do these things like making stupidly long reference texts in the vain hopes someone will read it and learn something from it, which will never happen. I made a Forum Post intended as a collection of the disparate writings I wrote throughout NN, and I was writing the first installment. It took me a good 30-40 minutes of my existence.
I blew it up by erasing the tab.
I imagine the Founder writing a whole book and then accidentally burning it, wasting years of life. Which makes it so much worse.

  7. A little bit on the Caliphate's industry:

The Sunayyad Caliphate is no where near to a SEU or India scale in industry, however the Caliphate can pull its own weight. The Caliphate has many factories and manufacturing plants, the massive ones which produce weaponry and military goods, at a fast rate especially. Take it as saying the Caliphate has the world's third biggest Industry, and it's about to get much, much bigger. The Caliphate realizes relying on trade and oil is a problem, as they can be cut off quite easily, so a much more simplistic way would to just use some commercial industry to import. Oil isn't going away, and it never will, there are so many buyers, (especially Europe, Europe buys a TON of the Caliphate's oil, except for the UBR).

Trade is great as well, however in the long run depending on it can be dangerous.

As for Iron, the Caliphate has Persia (Iran) and Turkey, although they are a smaller instant source of it, while Canada and Brazil produce a LOT of it, but it also means that they can get cut off.

What the Sunayyad Caliphate Manufactures and Exports:
    • Ships: Seriously, they produce a LOT of these, and are rapidly constructing large shipping ports throughout the Gulf and Mediterranean. If you were to put them into a rank, they may be behind the SEU, but they would definitely reach the Top 3, possibly 2nd place. Over 70% of the world's large crude oil carriers are produced here, along with countless of other massive utility, fishing, shipping, commercial and WAR ships.
    • Machinery: Not as much as they would like, but a big breakaway from their reliance on Europe, they produce quite a bit of machinery used in manufacturing and factories. Now with computing technologies, they hope to become a mass producer of computers. Electrical machinery and equipment is also being produced.
    • Vehicles: Again, not as much as they would like, but they have been producing as many as they can.
    • Luxury Goods: Pottery, clothing and rugs, a minor export, but nonetheless a massive industry in the Caliphate.
  8. Ashqar Ayyad is trying to get out of the Musawai Brotherhood, it was originally founded to spread the liberal and humane ideologies of Islam, but what became of it was a cultist group hungry for terror and world domination. Ashqar Ayyad is not pleased with his deceased brother, for what he left behind was a major backlash, with the death of the pope and now the evolution of the Brotherhood's cultic nature, if Ashqar is wanting to get out, he has to imprison or kill each one of their members and loyalists if he wants to be safe in his own palace in New Babylon.
  9. The Founder is very happy his hated enemies are tearing themselves apart. Finally, the enemy is fighting themselves, not his allies! Finally, the infamous curse of infighting has moved on from him! After 48 years, the enemies of Socialism are doing the whole "infighting" thing!
But in any case, he thinks that living in a mountain and occasionally relocating to a different mountain is the best security ever. Literally no one knows where he lives, and even if they tried, he would notice the abundance of jets flying over his head and just move to a new mountain. That's... literally his whole security plan. Move to a new mountain and a new farm. It's very effective, mainly because he has no cars and just walks, and the fact that he looks like literally every other country peasant whose main occupation is farming for his family. He's considering moving to Siberia where he would be literally unfindable and unreachable by anybody, but that would take him through too many roads, or force him to take a plane. Oh, he does most certainly have the resources to take a plane (he did not plunder the Joseon treasury for nothing), but it would be suspicious if a random country farmer suddenly comes up with massive amounts of money to ride a plane.
Keep in mind there are still some parts of Korea and some parts of China which live in Joseon/Qing-esque conditions, and some Siberian farmers who don't know WW2 happened, and (estimated by the Government) roughly 1,000-3,000 people in several remote Siberian villages who don't know SEU is a thing yet and think there is still a Tsar as well as a Russian Empire. At this point, the SEU Government is deliberately attempting to keep them ignorant of the SEU's existence as a sort of game and is delivering food to them by Mi-8 Helicopters, and purporting it is by the (long-gone) Russian Empire.
The SEU has requested permission from India to contact the Sentinelese peoples by sending food and aid. India has done so itself, and stated that India seeks to maintain the existence of the Sentinelese by sending aid. The Sentinelese has not yet discovered fire. This has been remedied by sending firestarting kits with basic pictures on use. The Sentinelese now are using fire and building primitive Houses.
SEU and India have declared that the Sentinelese will be an experiment in accelerated Human Development of Civilization, and that they will seek to develop a culture from the Sentinelese where they can sail to meet the Humans of the rest of the World where they can be taught language.
  10. The Humanitarian Aid Minister of the Caliphate warns India of messing with the Sentinelese people. They are literally stone age people, living in a world of men going into space, they are VERY susceptible to disease from outsiders, and are VERY fragile. They are happy, even though they do not have personal airconditioning, they have their own families and ways of life.

If India and the SEU keep messing with fragile stone age peoples, they will quickly die of disease, and their existence will rot away. Once they die, the SEU and India are yet again going to have another humanitarian backlash... As long as they keep their deaths a secret...

To prepare for a war initiate, Ashqar has got the world's best to produced designs and ideas for Nuclear Fallout Shelters and Bomb Shelters that would sustain human life for a LONG time, yet still being comfortable and livable. Bomb shelters exist in the Sunayyad Caliphate, however they are old and now literally museums, they are being replaced with newer designs. However, once everything is mapped out within a few years, the Caliphate won't begin construction, only when they are threatened by war.

The AI-5 has entered production and is set to be more produced than the MiG-21. Although yes, inferior in most ways, the AI-5 can be produced a hell of a lot quicker, and a LOT cheaper, while still being effective. An MiG-21 vs an AI-5 would leave the MiG-21 victorious, but a 3 on 1 would leave the MiG-21 tumbling to the ground, meaning the AI-5 is the best suited for flying in squadrons.

Introducing the Green Gate Initiative and the Iron Wall.
(Will introduce in a broader sense in later posts)

    Green Gate Initiative:
An Eco-friendly solution to power, but also one which is focuses on making massive amounts of energy quick and fast (who cares about the environment? It's a name to make it seem like a good idea!)
This would create dozens of Nuclear Reactors and Power Plants across the nation, sending power to cities, towns, factories and manufacturing plants.

Iron Wall: A nod to the great Defense of the Caliphate, it would be a tactical line of Silos, Launch Pads, AA defense, Anti-Missile defenses, Anti-Ballistic and Anti-Ship defenses, and so much more. Basically, it's about MISSILES.
One popular method would be to use armored missile carrier trucks, those of which would not be as great as Silos, but be very easy to transport, which means Silos are a big unmovable target.

The Iron Wall would go from the border lines, all the way from Egypt, up the North Mediterranean into Turkey, down through Iran, Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf and The Arabian Sea Coast and Red Sea. The Red Sea and Gulf of Aden between the Strait between Yemen and Dijibouti is insanely well defended, with dozens of anti-ship missiles and weaponry, meaning any army would fail miserably. The AA defense with the Iron Wall initiative would be huge, able to destroy a massive Air Fleet from the sky, protecting from bombing raids alike. The only problem is expense, but since the Caliphate is very keen on defense over offense, the army will have to muster as much money as they can.

South Nubia has seen a 3% increase in agricultural land boosts, and it has gotten to the point where the government just gives people free land to farm. The agriculture output in South Nubia would be able to feed the Caliphate very well.,
  11. The SEUAF has demanded money so that they can defeat this new "Aluminum Steel Iron Wall". The SEU Intelligence is very vague on the details but it is well known that there are dozens of AA and Antiship weapons which would tear anything approaching the Caliphate to pieces.
Instead, the SEU funds the Navy and allows them to acquire several hundred more Su-12Voys as well as purchasing more Guided Missile Cruisers and Guided Missile Destroyers.
The SEUN has roughly 20 Guided Missile Cruisers and 60 Guided Missile Destroyers. These ships posses the S-125 Neva SAM and advanced ASW capabilities allowing them to tear Submarines apart. Combined with SEU's overwhelming superiority in sensors of all sorts, this should allow them to defeat Caliphate Submarines. In theory. In practice SEU always attaches a Submarine or two to their Carrier Task Forces to further deter enemy Submarines.
As well as this, to decimate onshore defenses SEU has decided to retrofit one of their old Battleships with Nuclear Propulsion, and plastering on a ridiculous number of SAM systems to make up for the unbalancing effect of removing 67% of the Fuel Oil. The bane of a Battleship is Aircraft, SEU is well aware of this. The 457mm guns of the Battleships should be able to neutralize any near-shore threats and then it's up to the Aircraft to destroy the many, many Antiaircraft Defenses.
The SEUAF mostly wanted money, but the Navy it seems is the SEU's favorite, followed by the Army, and then the Air Force. In any case, they're all underfunded for their size and has to make ends meet with sometimes what is basically extortion. (fending off pirates, being a giant mercenary corps, selling merch, and having an entire team dedicated to connecting with the youth so the military can sell them crap).
  12. The Caliphate plans to intercept this by improving their submarine's already superb stealth and sensory technology. In the case of the Iron Wall, the SEU can try, but the only way they would win is seeing their entire Airforce plunged at the Caliphate, and only 1% of it coming back home.
  13. Phase 4 of the Asphalt Spear is now being implemented. Here's a speech given yesterday by Mr. Kahvi, leader of the GDSA:
"Dear people of the UBR, you may have noticed we are funding large public infrastructure projects in the Guiana regions. Residents have been calling it 'overkill'. However, it is necessary for our Asphalt Spear project. Many people have been asking what Asphalt Spear is.
"The car. It's a personal mode of transportation that is unnecessarily large when just transporting 1-4 persons. Road accidents are one of the leading causes of death. Most modern cars are very environmentally unfriendly, and here at the GDSA, that is ei hyvä. These are only a few of the reasons that we are implementing the Asphalt Spear project.
"The Asphalt Spear is our initiative to get rid of cars altogether, replacing it with more efficient, quicker, and overall better public transport. This will be a plus to our economy as we are creating jobs, we are reducing deaths, and we are cutting our carbon emissions by a full 25%. [this is higher than what it will actually cut.] Emergency services will use helicopters or small motorcycles.
"Phase 4, to get rid of cars in the Guianas, to be in effect immediately after the ending of this speech, as public transportation there has gotten to a level that cars can be gotten rid of without having a large effect, cars will not be allowed on the streets of the Guianas. Have a good day, everyone."
  14. RUM has finished researching nuclear energy from using radioactive uranium rods to heat water in their nuclear reactors. This will drastically reduce monthly costs for most of Mexican residents, except those in the smaller villages who still run off of the more expensive Natural Gas. The residents within Mexico are skeptical about nuclear, due to the safety risks it poses to surrounding areas. The government listened to the cries of the people and assures them that they will make sure the plants work in the most optimal condition. However, they built it in the cheapest place possible, in a far distant part of the Mexican desert, so they would not have to worry too much about any radioactivity affecting the residents. The health clinics in most areas are willing to do radiation tests for people who believe they have been radiated from any possible fallout from the plant. Residents are not sure if their health coverage(s) will cover the costs for such a test, only time will tell...

Meanwhile, oil, mineral, textile and food exports skyrocket back up to normal levels before all efforts were focused on the research of nuclear energy! A short-term breath of economic "fresh air" is felt within the entirety of RUM.
  15. The SEU questions the design choices of the RUM in their reactors.
Even the SEU's RBMK Reactors (infamous for their positive void coefficients and questionable control rods) have many countermeasures to prevent a disaster and Boom.
The RUM seems to be taking shortcuts. SEU does somewhat want one of RUM's reactors to explode so that they can blame it on the greed of Capitalism and that the Socialist system has had a perfect, 100% safety record for their reactors. Given, the SEU does use unsafe designs for cheapness. The RBMK reactor consists of 78% of SEU's Nuclear power supply, LWRs 21.9% and 0.1% experimental Molten Salt Thorium reactors.
SEU expects the MSRs to be the new ideal energy generation sources.
In any case, the SEUN is still not confident the SEU can defeat the Caliphate defenses. The SEUN needs to be able to break out of the strait of Bosporus, but the SEUN can't do that yet.
The SEU Military needs more money, but are drastically underfunded. The SEUAF still cannot afford MiG-21s and Su-12Vos, and is selling MiG-15s because they cannot afford to maintain so many jets. The SEUN has made it a goal to have at least 6 Supercarriers, because then at least 2 can operate. The SEUN is on track to meet this goal, but the rest of the fleet is in various states of disrepair. The SEUA (SEU Army) has a goal of 2.3 million personnel. It has not yet met this goal, because it cannot afford to feed the recruits it meets.
  16. The Caliphate makes the Expandable Defense Standard, the act of improving all defensive spots 2x better than before, making them at that moment, the most well defended position in the entire Caliphate, until its upgraded again and becomes the most well defended etc. The Caliphate will stop at nothing to gain the greatest defensive equipment, having advanced land, ship and air radar, sensors, and quick communication, the Caliphate will always one up the SEU's offense with better defense, and in retrospect, the SEU will never have a good offense to penetrate their defenses because the Caliphate will always one up them.

The navy plans to build one more Supercarrier, and negotiates with the airforce on AI-5 comparability. However, the fault in the AI-5 is obviously the fact that its basic. The AI-5 is a great aircraft to give to their allies, but it can not stay up to par with the air forces needs... a new model must be under way, the AI-5 was somewhat of a failure.
  17. The Caliphate boasts safe Nuclear Power plants, they go through countless upon countless of measures to ensure everything is safe and operable, one little fault in the system and the plant shuts down into a safe mode and that fault is evaluated, fixed, and then re evaluated at least 5 times to make sure it is all safe. The safety of these Nuclear Reactors is incredibly strict, only highly trained professionals and trusted people work on the high end spectrum, even then, all other workers, regardless of role, have to be well trusted and trained. Any tardiness, reckless behavior or failure to fix a problem or root out a problem can be met with extreme discipline, and depending on the circumstance can lead from a direct firing from their job, a hefty fine and suspension, or even an expulsion and jail time. Only God knows what would happen to the person responsible for a reactor explosion... May the wrath upon their souls be minimum.

Currently only 4 are in operation, non are near big enough cities to reduce the risk of a mass evacuation during an emergency.

Desalination technology is nearly complete, and it will be showcased at the World Technologies Fair in New Babylon next year. The World Technologies Fair is groups of highly respected scientists and engineers from all around the globe who share their technologies. Most of the technologies are civil, like for EXAMPLE: Television, Desalination, Microwaves, ETC. ETC. This means no military technologies. The UBR, RUM, TBF and European Nations (not Spanish Empire) as well as Brazil, Canada, WCA Members and some few other countries are invited. Why isn't the SEU invited? Because they aren't trusted to maintain a mature response, and would most likely bring in some military weapon and bully everyone else.
Only a select Korean inventors are allowed.

With Desalination Technology, a bright spot ahead is open for the Caliphate's water issues, meaning that someday in the near FUTURE the possibility of desalinating ocean water, which the Caliphate has lots off, and converting it into fresh water is in the hopeful minds of many people.

  18. The SEU snarks that the Caliphate doesn't want SEU to show up the Caliphate at their own show.
The SEU reminds everyone that they have spread the technologies that they have all over the realm of the Earth, and that they have done more for the poorest than any other nation.
The SEU decides to show up the Caliphate anyway by making a massive contribution to Africa and investing with no strings attached, as well as creating the World's first Color TV broadcast and broadcasting what amounts to SEU propaganda around the globe. Keep in mind even owning a TV is a luxury in many countries, but not SEU. In SEU, every family has a TV! (or that's what the propaganda tells. It varies. Cities? Most families. The further you go out from the cities with the glaring exception of farms the quality of life steadily drops).
They also distribute the Polio Vaccine (ironically made by the Caliphate) in massive numbers to poorer nation the SEU has only 100-150 cases of Polio per year thanks to the Vaccine (down from tens of thousands). SEU has announced their intent to eradicate Polio from the Earth, as well as Measles as soon as a proper vaccine can be developed for it.
The SEU has instituted a mandatory vaccination regiment for young Children and adults, the first nation in the World to do so. Any attempt to resist this move has been wiped out by SEU informational broadcasts that inform the people of the safety and efficacy of the vaccines. As a direct result of this, the SEU Public is now far healthier than before and enjoys a much higher standard of living. The funds freed up by the government not having to take care of those diseases is being redirected to the SEUMF (SEU Military Forces) and SEUSA (SEU Space Agency).
In addition, the SEU schedules a massive donation of Mi-8 Helicopters to poorer nations as an aid. The SEU Government is the front and foremost distributor of stuff to nations, and the SEU wants everyone to know about it.
The SEU also makes a massive round of satellite launches, to try and even the gap between the SEU and the Caliphate. SEU is building more launch infrastructure in order to support a greater rate of launches than the Caliphate, but they are behind and the SEU knows it. If the SEUSA wants to reach the Moon first, the SEUSA needs more money, and the SEU obliges by giving them a whole load of money to work with.
The SEU decides to place many R-7 Missiles to counter the Caliphate and Indian influences. India cannot invade through the mountains of SEU, and the Caliphate is focused on defense so SEU will focus on having a well-rounded Nuclear Deterrent instead of containing any one foe.
The SEU has programmed their Nuclear Missiles to fire at the ocean should anything go wrong, but should an operator go insane a launch can only happen after 3 people agree, so only one person can't launch the missiles should they go nuts.
Lastly, the SEU is constructing many new Airports. The Il-707, the World's first (and only) commercial Airliner, will be complemented by the Il-727. SEU is working hard to make plane and air travel affordable for the common person, and SEU's efforts are a success in many ways. Ilyushin is associated with the SEU Government because Ilyushin is a SEU SEO, meaning that Ilyushin gets access to SEU Government tech and has a edge against competitors. Ilyushin used this to make the Il-707, and it has been a great success.
The SEU is planning on creating a high-speed rail line, but nothing is of yet confirmed.
  19. The life of citizens in the Sunayyad Caliphate:

Living in the Sunayyad Caliphate is not so bad, the country is well ahead of it's time and reveres an advanced civilization.
Healthcare is for the most part free and universal, however in some parts some medical departments are lacking and some regions don't have such free healthcare, although that will change very soon, as Ashqar enlists new goals to make the Caliphate a choice for foreigners to gain medical treatment. Quality of healthcare is outstanding in cities and developed locations, but like every massive country, may have a lack in small rural areas. New acts will hopefully change this, but 2.8 out of 1000 people are doctors.

Good education is a standard, you'll find many public schools everywhere, and the occasional private school in rich regions. The teachers are standard, the more rich the school the greater the teachers, but the learning curriculum is one of the best, and students are taught with the vision that they will be the backbone of future Caliphate societies and will build the Caliphate greater than it ever has.

Not many people have TVs, but that is somewhat positive. Why? Because it's not that useful for a working society, with the world's fastest growing world power who looks to the future of society, spending time watching TV is a waste, when work can be done. Public television may be viewed in some shops which can produce propaganda, and radios are fully accessible with most families having one. No entertainment? That's fine, because of the tradition in the Caliphate, many cultures prefer social gatherings, theater, events etc. for their entertainment.

In the big cities, most people have air conditioning, but that "most" drops the more smaller the city gets. Refrigeration is a key, being a staple in major cities, but of course, the smaller the city gets the less accessible.

As far as disease goes, the Health Department of the Caliphate has it covered. Basically eradicating Polio and many deadly diseases, becoming sick and dying early isn't common anymore, and everyone in the entire country has access to vaccines and sanitation.

With South Nubia now producing food, aquifers being tapped and massive food imports, the Caliphate is no longer hungry, and in a war they will never be hungry, but never be full.

Nearly 90% of the populous has access to full electricity, of course, rural communities account for that 10%, but even in that 90% nearly 78% have full potential electricity, meaning small chances of power outs, no lights flickering, and energy to the full amount, what is should be.

Many people are opting into the buisness and manufacturing industry as the country grows, however the trade, delivery and transport industries are incredibly high, mainly because of the Caliphate's trading ports and railroad running through the entire city. Finding a job is not difficult in big cities, although rural communities live quite seperately from society, farming, constructing, and basically surviving. Any rural community that has a railroad running through it is an instant blessing, and their living conditions will skyrocket in positivity.
