Blue: Kephrastan
Kephrastan is a proud empire. They boast of their diverse climates, ranging from deserts, to snowy plains, to forests, to extreme hills, to plains. They are therefore able to sell a large variety of items from different biomes, and due to this, have a strong economy that has flourished since the very beginning days when Kephrastan was no more than the humble village of Tigertown.
Red: Geckolandia
The northernmost of the three kingdoms, Geckolandia is the most all-around successful kingdom. It has a large assortment of biomes similar to Kephrastan, but the individual biomes themselves are not as large or fruitful, making acquiring large amounts of resources difficult at times. They do, however, take pride in their swamp, for they are able to meet their slimy and brewing needs without having to seek the assistance of others.
Green: Rhytopia
Rhytopia has many things going for it, but many things going against it as well. Their sheer amount of plains and swamps lets them dominate in livestock-related exploits and they have a solid income from exporting lily pads, but their lack of deserts means that glass is always in short supply. The Rhytopians, however, have adapted, and have developed a clear substance similar to glass that can be derived from snow, vines, and saltwater.
Yellow: Neutral/Conflict zone
The yellow areas are places that, for whatever reason, colonization has not settled in. In these areas, everything goes - the lack of governing means that lawlessness prevails and the strong rule the lands. However, despite their danger, these lands are highly sought after and have potential value to every civilizaiton. Kephrastan and Geckolandia have been fighting over the northwestern conflict zone for years now, both believing that expanding to this area would be the tipping point that they've been searching for to secure their superiority over the others, whereas Rhytopia believes that the zone is tactically valuable, and will allow them to undermine the other two from within. Rhytopia believes that they are the rightful owners of the swamp in the eastern conflict zone since they almost completely encircle it, whereas the area is essential to Kephrastan due to their lack of a swamp. Geckolandia also values this area, since them claiming the swamp is one of the final steps towards dividing the other two settlements, and, once isolated, can be dealt with individually.

I failed to vote in the referendum on the independence of SMP8, a decision which I now deeply regret, since I had assumed that a pro-SMPEighxit outcome would have been unimaginable. I can only assume that I am not the only one who made such an assumption, and the incredibly close margin of the vote makes the results even more painful. I cannot help but feel at least partially responsible for this outcome, even if through my apathy. The exit of a server from the Empire is dangerous not only for the server that leaves, but the integrity of the Empire as a whole. The exit of SMP8 from the Empire will only serve to bolster the voices of others who have desired the exit of their server from the Empire. These voices, however obscure they may currently be, will become emboldened and more likely to push for their own exit, such as an SMPOneAway, or an SMPFoureverAlone as it were. It is important that those of other servers remember the value and prosperity that a unified Empire brings to us all, and whether or not they would be willing to throw it away for a nebulous (and frankly delusional, in my opinion) concept of sever sovereignty.

Conversely, I am more than willing to take back everything I said if people will agree to my following proposal:
SparerToaster for God-Emperor of SMP8.

if this isnt a joke then they better get their on forums too. I dont want to see any of their comments or threads if we cant keep smp 8 the way it is right now.

As a resident of SMP8 since I joined EMC, I say this is long overdue. We have always been our own little corner of the server, its only right that we are treated as such.

I just sneaked into the new SMP8 Slack chat, and saw that staff are planning to enable PVP throughout the entire wilderness of SMP8. The idea has been a major discussion point for a while in the Empire Slack, but didn't make it in the end. Now that SMP8 becomes independent, it can make it's own rules and will therefore allow PVP. We don't know an exact release date yet, but rumor has it that it may take anywhere between 1 week and 10 Aikar hours. At the same time, a new item called "White Feather" will be introduced. This item is said to prevent you from getting slain by other people, but we aren't sure on details yet.

We hope to get an official statement soon.
