    You probably don't know him :) He was a wrestler (WWE) and, obviously, from Russia (so the story went). This was in the 80's / 90's, in the middle of the cold war. Can it be worse? Of course! He was part of a tag team, and his partner was none other than "The Iron Sheik" who originated (storyline) from "Tehran, Iran". I think you can imagine that these two weren't exactly popular ;)

    After their introduction in the ring, the ring announcer often started:

    "Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Volkoff requests... That you all rise and respect his singing of the Soviet national anthem".
