With the Great General Esmaeel Baghaii commanding the south, he spears through South West India with total speed, conquering South Rajputana and North Bombay. His progress is so fast and detrimental to India that India was forced to pull some troops from the North to push him back. The Caliphate is slowly being drained, such a successful push in India is taking its toll on the Caliphate-Pakistani supply lines and military wealth, both nations are producing military equipment, and planes/ships/tanks/vehicles/artillery like madmen, it's causing the International Sunayyad Railway which runs from Morocco to Pakistan to jam up with the logistical powerhouse of the Caliphate. Esmaeel and his men stay back, they land into deep Indian territory and thus move back a few hundred kilometres, lest they overwork themselves and run the Caliphate workhouse dry. This is concerning for the Caliphate. They aren't up to par with their Industrial and Production. The Sunayyad Empire imports enough Iron, Aluminum and various ores to last them a long time in a war, but the problem is that it takes longer for them to get to the Americans and to Pakistan safely, even with the fast railways of the Sunayyad Caliphate, they aren't like the SEU who have more than enough resources literally at their doorstep. Luckily though, Persia has quite a bit of Iron, and the Caliphate is literally overflowing with Oil to the point to where they have to sell it for cheap unless they want to drown themselves in it. India makes northward advancements on Pakistan everyday, they keep pushing. The Caliphate pushes the M4E8 Saladin through and completely outmatches India's weak armoured force, but India has plenty of soldiers, PLENTY. The Caliphate has two options, sign a peace treaty and end the Kashmir garbage and possibly steal a bit of Indian land in south Pakistan, or wait for the atomic bombs to finish their production. The longer they wait, the more drained they become, they must hold out before India gains the upper hand.
The Soviet Union has redeveloped its food rations; it will be more palatable to their troopers with more menus that will allow them to eat it for 14-21 days without excessive monotony, and their comprehensive nature will allow many types of ethnicities to eat them, with the exception of Islam (for obvious reasons). They have been made more nutritionally complete, to allow them to be used more often. It has drastically simplified logistics, because the Soviet Union does "producing a crap ton of one thing" very well. These methods help the Soviet Troops eat well.
An influx of Muslim immigration and Jewish immigration is approaching. Jews because Zionism ideals have risen, and Muslims because of the religious prosecution in Iberia and the war in India. A private company, run mainly in Egypt which seeks out for better working conditions, higher wages, more different types of labour and work, better working conditions and equality. The Government is in support of them, and acknowledges their goals, promising a bill to increase the wage prices of workers, increase the working conditions in workplaces such as factories, and ensure the proper health, safety and equality of the ones working for them. So far, the fastest growing industry in the Sunayyad Caliphate is the automobile industry, with the dominant industry being obviously petroleum. After the war, most economists agree there will be a golden age and an indisputable economic boom. Home appliances and human entertainment will skyrocket, the average person's home will rise in quality, real estate will sky rocket, production will triple in size with consumer goods and everyday item production being at an all time high. Roads will be built stretching everywhere, skyscrapers will erect and quality of life will boost. The Golden Age isn't just some prophecy, it's something most economists agree on. Sunayyad Rations are simple to the region, yet effective. Canned Beans, Lentils, Rices, Breads (wheat is very abundant), steak/chicken/lamb, (pork is obviously not even in their diet, it is not only exempt from their religion, but also isn't idealistic in a healthy diet, as pigs waddle in dirty conditions and literally eat garbage, while cattle and poultry feed on nutritious grasses and seeds.) As far as drinks go, it usually just includes water, as well as canned fruits and coffee which is very abundantly imported from Abyssinia, giving it the name Abyssinian InstaCoffee. Knick-Knack items such as chewing gum, small candies, maybe some cheeses, salt, toilet paper, a matchbook and a small booklet of verses from the Quran specifically chosen by the Caliph to give the soldiers strength. Above all, the Caliphate prefers nutritious rations with a high calorie count, and high energy output while still being easy to carry, easy to make and healthy. All Sunayyad Rations (or S-Rations) are adaptable to their own fields of the military.
The Sunayyad Caliphate works on building up Afghanistan. This reforms will begin after the war is over, but it includes: Constructing and repairing roads. Building schools, universities, hospitals, libraries and research centers. Creating cheap yet effective housing suitable with great conditions for everyone Increasing wages and bringing in new jobs and a greater labour and production force Increasing industrial and agriculture output Lowering homelessness rate, unemployment and poverty rates. Introducing Musawaism idealistic of a clean and Utopian society Higher Quality of life, low infant mortality rate, higher GDP, improved social and economic life and anti-corruption This will include an insane amount of work and will take much dedication, power, money and time. As long as the right decisions are made, these goals are expected to be reached by 1960s or earlier. Now, just to get rid of corrupt leaders... OOC: Just forget about al Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram etc. Without such corruption in MENA and without British and French intervention the Middle East is literally going to be the positive opposite of what it is today, don't even bother with Radical Islamic uprisings in the 21st century, the worst would be minor groups and such.
The SEU looks around its allies and realizes "oh crap, the Soviet Union isn't doing its job of cooperation". Many USSR Countries are underdeveloped, it seems that it is doing its job rather poorly. They are starting a massive development program in many countries of the Soviet Union. SEU has leftover money and industry from making thousands of T-34s and small arms. These factories are being repurposed by the SEU Government to create buildings, products and to create a "miracle". The SEU Government, utilizing its State Capitalistic traits buy massive shares in companies and effectively directs them to invest in Soviet Countries. In any case, because investing in them is easy everyone was going to do it anyway, but SEU is now directing them to directions that will be beneficial to the Soviets. They leave them with vague guidelines and leave them to do whatever they want, along government guidelines. The SEU has invested over 120 Billion Dollars (2018 dollars) into the Soviet Bloc as economic aid, and sends SEU engineers to build up a industrial base artificially where there was none. Development will be started with these engineers and continued with investment. (rapid development requires one of two things: existing infrastructure and workers that have enough knowledge and know-how to rapidly rebuild a country and not fail repeatedly, or enough resources and manpower to keep failing repeatedly and still get things done in a fast timeframe anyway. SEU had the second one, and SEU is trying to create the first for the other Soviet nations.) The SEU Military is building a new type of Aircraft Carrier. Its enormity makes it questionable and it seems there was significant internal opposition into putting all the eggs into a few baskets, indeed the SEU seems to fitting new technologies onto it, massive pipes are being fitted onto it as well as steam generation machines. It rings alarm bells that they're using one of the 75,000 ton Battleship docks, of which they have 6. The next largest docks that are 50,000 tons have 4. This indicates that the warship is somewhere between 50-75k tons displacement. Espionage indicates that this ship is complex, and that the SEU is basically trying to build this and using it as a learning experience. As classic SEU behavior, they also seem to be planning a "Ultracarrier", but that's a 120k displacement monstrous sci-fi pipe dream. I mean, who on Earth would be crazy enough to use Nuclear Power, much less on ships? Also, who would build a Aircraft Carrier 9/5 times greater than even the largest today designs? Notice: in case you haven't noticed yet, SEU would. They have the infrastructure, their 2 docks could be expanded to accommodate about 130k tons displacement ships with a bit of corner-cutting and skirting safety measures. And the technology needed may be sci-fi in the 1940s, but it is very viable in the 1970s. In addition, they're thinking about making a third and fourth dock for purely military purposes, the first and second docks are flooded with new ambitious civilian orders capitalizing on the massive docks. Also, the company that owns the shipyard is looking at a 300,000 ton dock, so that's that. OOC: The Sunayyad Caliphate or Federation has no need to worry about the second design. It is exactly as I describe it, for now a sci-fi pipe dream. The first on the other hand? A bit closer to reality, but no one's built a carrier that large before and it's likely to be a complete flop that would need a complete rebuild to make it work, because SEU has no idea what it's doing (this is unprecedented, remember) In addition, they have decided that now the Battleship is obsolete as a frontline vessel. It may have its uses; indeed, the 457mm shells, 280mm shells, and 406mm shells all have their uses both as shore bombardment and they all have special Anti-concrete shells for destroying fortifications. In addition, they are cheap and plentiful while airstrikes are less so. They can hurl massive numbers of shells at enemy fortifications, and SEU plans on retaining many of their Battleships for this purpose. However, they are now obsolete as frontline battle vessels thanks to Jet Aircraft. Sooner or later, someone will figure out how to get those on a Carrier and then the Battleship is screwed. SEU has 8 Java-Class Battleships, 3 Zheng He-Class Battleships, 4 Ming-Class Battleships and 1 Yi Sun-Shin-Class Battleships. SEU is keeping in active service 2 Java-Class Battleships, 1 Zheng He-Class Battleships, 1 Ming-Class Battleship refitted with 12 280mm guns (because lots of guns are better for shore bombardment), and 1 Yi Sun-Shin-Class Battleship. SEU is also turning into a museum ship 1 Java-Class Battleship and 1 Ming-Class Battleship. The rest are going to be disposed of through scrapping and Nuclear Testing. SEU Armed Forces Traits Army: 3.1 million active soldiers, because despite the fact that they have reasonably high standards, they have a lot of people to work with and the population is exploding continuously. They are way too reliant on their stuff. They have no idea how to fight without having lots and lots of stuff to work with. They have secondary Police training, because their purpose is to both fight wars and to maintain peace and stability. Brutality is strictly forbidden, especially rape. This is the only reason why Japan was not burned to the ground second time around. Near unstoppable. (This is assuming they got their crap together; that takes years.) these guys have seen every conceivable kind of enemy, from professional SNE soldiers, brave SNE freedom fighters, to fanatically determined Japanese and Caliphate Soldiers. Their soldiers are trained on how to fight every one of those enemies, and they have special soldiers to fight one type. A good example is "Reality Checkers", a nickname for the close-range fighters that work in tandem with the Snipers to defeat Caliphate Flamethrowers and Masif Corps. They also do anti-guerilla warfare, and is the only units in the SEU Army allowed to commit limited atrocities. Navy: They have a strange obsession with big ships, explains their massive Battleships and Aircraft Carriers. They are a rather effective fighting force, and excels at power projection. They have excellent infrastructure to project power because they have many repair ships, tankers and food supply ships. They do this very well. They believe in the doctrine of quality over quantity, the opposite of the Army. This makes their relationship... interesting. Air Force: They believe in renewability, and they have no really good Pilots but no one can shoot out their normal good pilots because that's everyone. They believe in overkill. Just... overkill. I mean, they can make do without it, but they really like that doctrine. They are very good at strategic bombing, being the inventors and they have honed the art to perfection. They also excel at Nuclear Weapons bombing. They are very good bombers, decent fighters, and are built to fight a long, dragged-out war. In general: Very reliant on their massive capital. The relationship between them is terse at best and they don't get along. In addition, the leadership is dysfunctional and is held together by Western Supreme Marshal Zhukov, and even he struggles to make it work. In general a well balanced force. They have many limitations, like the fact that it takes ages to start up and iron out all the wrinkles. They are big, clumsy and dysfunctional. See note below. God help you when you well and truly anger them. There is no stopping them then. See note above. Above all, time is their best friend. Their strategy is built around slowly bleeding the enemy out. They do not believe in Kantai Kessens, no. They believe in slowly whittling the enemy to nothing. Remember this when fighting the SEU and Soviets. Their greatest weapon is not Nuclear Bombs. Their greatest weapon is not their industrial capacity. Their greatest weapon is not their manpower. Their greatest weapon isn't even tangible. Their greatest weapon is time, and time alone. You are on a timer.
OOC: Flame thrower troops are easy to deal with, they are literal bullet magnets, that's why Saladin Crocodile Flamethrower tanks are preferred in the Caliphate's open terrain. In terms of a battle in SEU/USSR territory, flamethrowers have much more cover and much more wood and forest to burn. The Masif Corp however are very deadly, killing them takes a lot of hardship. The Sunayyad Caliphate wants to avoid a war with the SEU and USSR, and anyone infact. They have no use for another draining war, and would rather fix their own nation then squabble with a nation who hates the fact that they are improving the lives of their own people.
The Federation has started converting most power from fossil fuels to more healthy forms of energy like hydroelectric
The Soviet Union has proposed a total ban on any and all chemical weapons. This would eliminate too much brutality in war. They kill with a special brutality and USSR is against this. In addition, they also propose banning Biological Weapons, as they are uncontrollable and has a pretty good chance of not doing what the people deploying it wants them to do. Meanwhile, the SEU is refining its Pu-239 and Explosive Lens manufacturing facilities.
The SNE agrees to this too. To many civilians have been lost in war even though they aren't involved. (I'd say a good amount of those deaths are caused by the SNE)
SEU has directly moved to annex the following countries. Kazakhstan (Uranium and Oil reserves) Ukraine (Rich Farmlands and significant Iron reserves) Belarus (They want it) This is not USSR troops rolling into their territories, it is more akin to the Austria-German Anchluss. They will be semi-incorporated into SEU and have self-governing privileges. Belarus is thrilled, Ukraine is skeptical, and Kazakhstan is full of Chinese who don't care. The rest of the populace are none too pleased, but there are a lot of powerful Chinese. In any case, the SEU throws a party for the respective nations, temporarily cutting aid to other nations to allocate massive funding to these nations. Keep in mind that 2 of these 3 were the more powerful states in the Soviet Union, and the USSR has no one left that can constrain SEU (there never was, honestly). Belarus was annexed because they wanted in.
The Caliphate has a steady supply of Uranium, both from Canada and Niger. The Caliphate also has a significant influence over Canada, with over 3 pro-Caliphate MP's in parliament, and a growing amount of puppeteers.
Japan has requested the reinstatement of the title "Emperor". SEU bluntly refuses and tells them that if they insist on such a idiotic thing again, they will lob off the King's head. Now, this is a complete disrespect of Japan, but Japan is in no condition to complain. I mean, SEU would have been within its rights to kill 500,000 Japanese people in massacres. But they only killed 3.8 million in an invasion, most in self-defense. It is of note that many were students, but that didn't stop SEU. SEU let it stop them the first time around, and they paid in 500,000 people and tens of thousands of "comfort women". Never again. In addition, the war criminals on both sides have been appropriately punished. SEU is barely holding back their anger, but they begrudgingly export aid to Japan. They want Japan to serve as their puppet and vassal, and a weak vassal is useless for SEU's purposes and is a continually draining parasite. Despite the fact that they would love to make Japan suffer more, they are pragmatic. OOC: Games based of WW2 ships must be... interesting in this timeline. For reference, in games like WOWS Yi Sun-Shin, Myeongyang, and Fukushima (name of 508mm gunned Japanese Battleship) would be a new tier, maybe tier XII as tier 11 could probably be filled by bumping everything above tier 7 one. I think that the (Hypothetical) Caliphate tier XII Battleship will have 9 508mm guns. The hypothetical SNE Battleship would be 12 457mm guns, in 3 quadruple turrets. SNE has the least economic power out of the 3 major combines, so 3 quadruple turrets make sense. It saves displacement.
The Soviet Union has decided to experiment with peaceful uses of Nuclear Radiation. If they could be used safely, than the USSR would be much more prosperous. No more dirty coal; no more burning things and creating massive amounts of microdust and smog (a major Social issue in USSR, but USSR has no idea how to make it better. Now, they might have a solution). Clean, safe energy for the rest of the USSR's days. The Soviets are well aware of the dangers of Nuclear Waste (after all, dealing with Pu-239 and U-235 was a pain in the back; they lost dozens of precious workers to Radiation poisoning and cutting corners), and have plans to build several massive vaults in the middle of the Gobi Desert and Siberia (because no one lives in them) to secure Radioactive Waste. SEU has already secured massive reserves of Uranium in Australia and Kazakhstan, and development is being allocated. The goals are twofold: to develop ever greater weapons, and to develop ever greater means of producing Nuclear Power. The Soviet Union has developed many types of potential fuel blends; they're throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks, back to basics.

The war in India grips on, both sides keep pushing, but both never seem to make the full pushover. The Caliphate invaded and took over more land from India, but India overtook more strategic positions. Nonetheless, India keeps bombing Caliphate cities, which resulted in the Caliphate using over 700 X-1 missiles. The Caliphate also used deep battle techniques, literally going into the heart of India and destroying all their roads, factories, military bases and even some key urban areas. India's biggest mistake is not focusing on these. They have killed nearly 100,000 Sunayyad/Pakistani Inhabitants within the last 6 months, except they barely target factories and shipping yards, unlike the Caliphate. In pure spite, the Caliphate finishes 8 Atomic Bombs OOC: Actually only 3, they only said 8 to scare India 1 of them will be dropped on Delhi, nicknamed "The Gift to Socialism." It is nearly 16 kilotons, charged with 2 pounds of Uranium-235. India will pay for their atrocities, the bomb is specifically targeting Jaipur, a site for a lot of India's Military Activity, also a large city in their own rights. The B-52 will be used to carry this massive bomb.

The Soviet Union is honestly horrified. The USSR never wanted to use them, because they were too horrifying. However, the USSR has nothing to gain from creating a Nuclear War. While they have more Nuclear Weapons than the Sunayyad Caliphate and have the know-how and infrastructure to produce more bombs (they gave up on the Gun Design and moved to high-explosive lenses), most of their U-235 and Pu-239 have been relocated to the Atomic Energy department. This gives the Caliphate a temporary edge in production, although the SEU now is researching both Nuclear Power for ships and Nuclear Power for the Soviet Union and is gaining in that department. They are researching many types of new reactors, although they have no idea how to turn a reactor into a working reactor and not an atomic bomb. Yet. The SEU abandoned the idea of U-235 gun-type weapons for 2 reasons: For one, it's inefficient. SEU could turn it into Pu-239 and have a lot more "boom". For another, it's dangerous; if the explosive detonated, there could be an accidental atomic reaction. (USSR is going to be very big on Atomic Energy)
A peace treaty has been pushed forward to India, called the Treaty of the Indus Valley. In summary, India and Pakistan agree to stop fighting over Kashmir, India agrees to stop tensions towards Islam and instead support their Muslim population. India will stop building a military force focused solely on the offensive for over 10 years, and the Caliphate/Pakistani will create a peace pact with India and their socialist neighbors, the Caliphate and Pakistan will retract all progress gained in India's landmass, and India will leave Kashmir. The Caliphate doesn't really believe India will hold true to this, but they just want the war to stop. The Caliph however, sheds a tear as he signs the Treaty of the Indus Valley, for he alone knows that India will be the one to blame for the ending of his life, and it will cause many more years of useless war. The Caliphate has already developed the X-2, short of the war unfortunately, but a sign that they have the most developed rocket technology in the world, now, they speak of the effects of possibly arming a nuclear warhead, only talks and research is made so far though... We'll see what turns up, we'll see.The Caliphate has also delved into the powers of nuclear technologies. When they first found Nuclear fission and the power that Plutonium and Uranium controlled, they had the intention of creating an endless power source from it. Although, due to the fact of the war with India, that idea of endless power was halted, and instead it was used in the matter of a weapon of destruction. The Caliphate is gathering up scientists in Baghdad to begin a nuclear power program, they want to develop a way to use this new source of energy to replace coal factories and become a new source of power. Nuclear powered naval units were brought up in the meeting, but everyone is contemplating, "How can we make a source of destruction become a source of renewable energy and power?"Still, much more research, testing, and thought must be brought up. The Science Association is also pushing for safer environments, as 1 scientists has already been recorded dead from multiple signs of cancer from treating Uranium-235 in unsafe conditions.
