Due to a catastrophic error in calculating dates and times, the HMKX population was accidentally calculated as 1.7 Billion people. The Empire apologies for the brief period of mass confusion as officials struggled to figure out what on Earth was wrong with their population figures. The real population is in fact 1.351 Billion people. (This figure deviates from IRL due to China and India being much better to live in). As one of the last actions of his extended term, the HMKX President has requested a world summit of "Combines". It would not be hosted in the capital of the Empire, for sure because the capital is a mountain fortress and the presidential fortress is not the most optimal climate for a summit, because it's underground and it costs immense amounts of money to operate it and the equipment used is, above all loud. So the Empire wants a summit in one of the four "Jewels of the Empire". Seoul. The Empire wants to discuss the future of the world, as well as a partial nuclear test ban treaty and a ban on Chemical and Biological weapons altogether. (HMKX has a 1/3 of OEO seats, just a fact.)
The Empire is developing radars and computers. The Military in particular is very interested in challenging UKNS's Radar domination, and also releasing this tech to civilians for commercial use and make money off of it. Computers are being extensively developed, with great amounts of money being poured into more development. The Empire has created a 4-Bit microprocessor, with progress going full steam ahead into more and more computers. Civilian projects are taking the lead, with many technologies such as GMOs being... researched, although they are not there yet. They are trying (and failing) to make a GMO organism. As well as this, a whole other bunch of civilian tech is being created for the usage of the general public. HMKX is trying to eliminate piracy, with coastal suppression programs working to eliminate pirates. 10 posts until piracy is greatly reduced in places near HMKX borders. Alas, a new time has come, and TUN experiences a hefty change. This change is the Independence of Malaysia from The United North as a colony. The reason for TUN's departure was because of a few reasons... It cost too much to repair and maintain the damage that was caused during the war, and fighting back against Guerrilla and rebel forces was too tedious Malaysia's government is now settled into a democracy, whereas before they were under the rule of a corrupt communist government. Now, the whole government is being handed over to them, as long as they maintain the democracy. There was no point in being in Malaysia anymore. Now that they live in peace, there isn't really much to do. Even if it was a way for TUN to have their military closer to The Empire, TUN still has two allies in Oceania to lean on. Thus, the military is currently being sent back to TUN, the 1/2 of the Navy is being sent back home, and the other will stay in the Indonesian Area. TUN will still keep trading, but they will not be allies.

The Empire insists the meeting be held in the headquarters proper of the OEO, Iraq if it is even to be held by the OEO. If UKNS desires to hold a meeting in London, they should do it independently of OEO supervision. UKNS has no right to mediate anything, the rest of the OEO will do so, not any one Combine. Lastly, Japan has let it be known they have no intention to cede Australia to the UFOS, because they came and liberated Australia from UFOS and let them govern themselves in exchange for their oil. HMKX seems to be supportive of this position of Japan, it is highly likely they have something to gain from letting Japan take Australia over. Japan is likely going to take a hardline stance on this topic, and it is fairly likely HMKX will back Japan to a reasonable extent.
Iraq is very stable and prosperous, the Ba'athist government has improved living standards with Imperial investments going a long way. The Economic growth is just explosive, and the City built around the OEO headquarters is considered to be the single most prosperous city in Iraq, second being the capital. Citizens enjoy a high standard of living, comparable to the average HMKX city. It's not so bad there. The poverty rate, while medium-high is falling rapidly and expected to reach developed world levels in 5 years. Saddam Hussein is dead, someone killed him and the Ba'athist party is doing wonders for Iraq.
The OEO has launched sanctions against South Africa after repeat attempts to prevent apartheid failed through negotiation.
