  1. The Empire is concerned. Very concerned.
In addition, Imperial spies find the atmospheres at the Javorian apartments strange.
The insides are practical, if a bit spartan, all the apartments being a big square.
  2. (they're only intended to be temporary for people who can't find a home and/or are homeless)
  3. Well, the Imperial ministry of homeless jas taken inspiration!
    The Empire congratulates Javor.
(PLEASE advise the TUN to stop building reactors, the Empire is worried.)
  4. It's 1960, and that calls for a new economic plan.

This plan will boost the economy and provide jobs for thousands of people. This is a pro-capitalist plan made by the current Conservative government and will start to be in play soon.
  5. TUN can't get enough of oil! The oil sands in Alberta have been pushed far back into life, and a plan to build a brand new pipeline from Halifax to Fredericton has been announced. This will hopefully lower the employment rate in the Maritime Provinces and boost clean energy spending. The pipeline will be shorter than the last, and will take 3 years to build.
  6. TUN has also created TWO brand new coal mines in Alberta. It will take 15 posts for them to be operational.

Many organizations are not happy though, they fear fast shifts in un-ecosystem friendly projects such as coal factories and mining will cause a huge environmental breakdown, something that needs to be avoided in the future. These organizations call out to TUN government, but they have yet to budge...
  7. We're going to try implementing a more reliable school transportation system, but we don't know how yet. We're hiring people to think of ideas for a new transportation system. Also, remember that advertising campaign for military we did earlier? We still haven't started to count everyone so we're starting now. Results coming soon.
  8. A whopping 3.5% of the population joined, totaling it at 2 million people!
  9. The UKNS has passed a new law that nationalises the buses, and provides schoolchildren with free transportation. As it stands, over 30% of North Sea industry is under the control of the state, and they don't appear to have any signs of stopping. The government is also considering breathing life back into the electric tramlines. There will also be a new highway created in Great Britain, modelled after the German autobahn - this will take 30 posts. The actual autobahn will also be extended through Switzerland and Italy, also in 30 posts.

Its second nuclear reactor has also been opened a small way away from London, and current plans are to fuel the city with it. Three more will open outside of Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo in five posts.

Austria has begun negotiations to enter the European Commonwealth. The deal will be finalised in three posts.
  10. We've developed a plan for efficient school transportation. Schools will send the local government the number of students using school transportation one month prior to the beginning of the school year.
Schools with >30 kids using the buses will be given 1 small school bus.
Schools with 30-60 using buses will be given 2 small ones.
Schools with 61-72 using buses will be given 1 medium one.
Schools with 72-90 will be given 1 large one.
Schools with 91-144 will be given 2 medium ones.
Schools with 145-180 will be given 2 large ones.
Schools with 181+ will have their number of students riding buses divided by 90 and rounded up to the nearest integer. (e.g., a school with 375 will have 5 lg. buses because 375/90=4.17, round that up to 5 lg. buses)
In addition, schools who have physically disabled student(s) will be given that number of vans, 5 maximum (e.g., schools with 3 phys. disabled students will be given 3 vans)
Also, if a school bus is not in use, the local government can use it for public transportation.

1 row can contain 6 total students
Van = 3 seats for kids + 1 wheelchair space
Small bus = 5 rows, 30 total kids
Medium bus = 12 rows, 72 total kids
Large bus = 15 rows, 90 total kids

edit: oh and here are the special license plates, the 1st one is back and 2nd is front
  11. RED ALERT | RED ALERT | RED ALERT | RED ALERT| RED ALERT| RED ALERT

THE NUCLEAR POWER PLANT IN TIMMINS HAS EXPLODED AND CAUSED A MASSIVE FALLOUT, ALL 29,000 CITIZENS MUST BE EVACUATED IN AN INSTANT. THE BLAST HAS CREATED VERY HIGH RADIATION LEVELS, AND STAYING IN THE AREA WILL RESULT IN MASS RADIATION SICKNESS.

The date is 1960, and the Timmins Nuclear Reactor, the third fully functioning nuclear power plant ever built on TUN soil, apart of the Nuclear Triplets a group of three of the first nuclear reactors, has exploded in Timmins, Ontario.

The blast has caused massive fallout and radiation which will effect surrounding ecosystems entirely in a short time. All citizens have been ordered to quickly pack their things and evacuate the area IMMEDIATELY. Schools and shops have been abandoned, although some crazy people, ignoring the order of the military, stay AT their shops and wait there. So far, in one day over 600 residents have been evacuated, with many more expected to within the following week.

(Blast radius. Sorry, I used NukeMap and used a 10 KT bomb, so this isn't the most accurate!)

The explosion was the cause of a rush to complete the power plant. Thus, construction had many flaws, and the reactor itself was unstable. In fact, the power plant was already finished, until it exploded. Many workers don't know exactly what happened, but a malfunction in the exploitable system was overreached, and it exploded, killing only 5 workers at the initial explosion. Workers luckily knew ahead of time that the system was beyond saving, and ran out with their lives before the explosion occurred very shortly after.

The radiation from the explosion is predicted to cause damaging affects to nearby residents, and possibly cause mutations and cancer in children and adults. So far, no deaths involving radiation have been announced, although there have been 3 cases of intense radiation poisoning already, although scientists believe that number will jump by the hundreds within a day. The environment in the surrounding area is expected to be heavily affected, and major damage in wildlife is inevitable.

TUN quickly received this terrible news, and has sent military troops into the area for extensive aid, as well as full hazmat squads. The area surrounding the plant is closed off, not even military personnel are permitted in the area due to the high radiation levels.

TUN President has come out with a statement regarding the situation, and reaches out to the people affected by the disaster, although, the media and the people of TUN are definitely not happy. What might happen to the other power plants? They run on the same energy and power, it's almost time until they explode and cause mass destruction... With that said, many people are upset with the current government, and protest the new nuclear energy plants.

TUN government has yet to give anymore information, although voters call for an early election, and possibly the impeachment of the current government.

  12. The UKNS seeks approval to help with the evacuation and medical treatment of the population of Timmins.

  13. We give approval. This type of disaster has not happened on United North soil before, and radiation like this is very deadly. Please send in Hazmat teams and full medical teams, we need all the help we can get.
  14. Over 5,000 UKNS soldiers, equipped with hazmat suits and more materials, have been sent to TUN. Many have medical training and are lead by a team of the best North Sea medical practitioners. As well, many more doctors, nurses and more have been sent with them by the North Sea Health Service.

They will arrive in 1 post.

  15. The people of TUN are very upset, especially the ones located near the two other Nuclear Reactors. What will come of them? They don't want to live in fear of another nuclear accident, they don't want to be forced out of their homes and they don't want to die.

The media is pushing the idea of the current government being power hungry, and by doing terrible things to their people. Rumors have spread about Castle Bravo, a recent nuclear test, which has proven to be the biggest nuke currently in the world caused immense radiation sickness to nearby citizens and fishing boats in the Marshal Islands. There have been rumors about human experiments going on in Greenland, although it is merely a big lie to trash the government. Small rumors about TUN using their own troops as guinea pigs to see the lasting affects on them after nuclear bomb tests have surfaced, although it is uncertain.

Many citizens protest at Ottawa and demand an early election... Maybe their wish will be granted..
  16. THE EMPIRE TOLD YOU SO!
  17. At this time I don't know why you're trying to prove a point, we have people dying over here, yet no remorse or help from The Empire
  18. The Empire is preoccupied trying to kill its own Nuclear engineers for mismanagement. Half of them went on the run.
Within the Imperial reactors, if you screw up, you die, no exceptions. The pay and benefits are great, as well as treatment for radiation sickness, as well as 8-hour work days/nights. The safety regulations are stringent, and cutting corners is a one-way ticket to deadland.
Oh, and the economy’s not doing so hot.
(We did try to warn you through Javor. You didn’t listen.)
  19. The Empire is sending Hazmat suits. Lots of hazmat suits. Imperial Hazmat suits are really high-quality, because of the Empire’s extreme caution with radiation. The Empire requests nothing. In accordance with the (secret) Imperial attempts to cooperate with UKNS, the hazmat suits will be provided to UKNS forces. Imperial doctors are also being sent in small numbers, to treat civilians only.
The Empire is creating a national jobs fund. The minimum wage is livable, with one person. The core of Imperial policy is that more money for the citizens means more buying.
  20. The Empire has declared a RED level situation within the TUN. The GAD has unanimously voted to send aid to various degrees.
The Empire is rethinking its reactor design.
While its managers are too afraid to mismanage things, structural problems might still exist. Maintenace checks are being made. In addition, the Empire is buying out world lead and tungsten stores. I mean buying them out, to the point of causing a shortage.
    Wonder what that could be?
(It's to contain radioactive materials. The Empire knows they will have to deal with the consequences of Nuclear fuel. Spent nuclear fuel is being deposited within temporary concrete-lead lined vaults, while a massive lead-concrete line vault is being constructed within the middle of Siberia. Polyethelene lines the walls of the vault to protect against ionizing radiation. Construction finishes in 1 year.)
