Building

#1 Natural reserve (3 pts) -> Map

The roofed forest north of Carthaga needs protection and marking as natural reserve. It should become clear that this is not a building area. For an example, please look at the flower forest or sunflower plains.

#2 Build an efficient dark room spawner (5 pts) -> Map

Right now it is hard for Carthaga to get hold of gunpowder, therefore we need a mob grinder. Please locate in the industrial district at the iron and sea temple farm.

#3 Take down the active dark room spawner (3 pts) -> Map

Located in the flower forests close to Kaizimir's house this farm doesn't work probably and needs to be taken down. Please return all items and blocks to the general storage

#4 Build a new apartment building (6 pts) -> Map

This is the ideal spot for a new apartment building. It should look nice and inviting and have rooms for many new members.

#5 Very difficult job (8 pts):

Build a whither farm or refine the one that is located close to the Netherrail station in Carthaga.

If building a new one please consult with Suriyakeng, he knows an excellent spot already. This is a huge undertaking and you can count on all the support of PoC.

AFK at the old gold farm, below the city center and the new gold farm at the ice plains for 3x1 hour each and count the number of nuggets collected. Scientific precission required!!

It would be nice to have a list of all the farms around Carthaga with type and location. If you want to do more, assess the output of items per hour.

8. Which of the 8 commandments do you find most important: I like number 5 the most. I like the idea of a community that works together and provides services for each other, rather than every man for himself type of thing.

Signed up for the job as "City development coordinator" (s. above and updated member list). The two of us had an amazingly inspiring tour through Limes Village and the South End. After all, I think Tisso is just the right person for the job. So, let's all give him a big hail as creative head and await in awe what is to come (dutch colonial style?, university facilities...bookshop, foodtruck).

Thanks for the very nice application. Indeed we are striving for a strong community and please feel welcome to join (I invited you to the Starter's Guide with way description). But I must let you know, even though we have had great times with many people, the community is rather quiet at this point. It takes a bit of persistence and faith, but eventually you can meet great people, be part of big projects and make good friends.
In that sense, just head out to Carthaga, the pearl of the eastern wild, enjoy the scenery and start your projects (hinthint get in touch with Tisso).
It is a save place to accommodate you, offering food, shelter and much more.

Thank you Kaizimir for this wonderful opportunity! First order of business is getting a building team together to improve existing buildings or build new ones. I am looking for up to 6 builders that are willing to help me with the further development of this great outpost. If you want to join the carthaga building team, send me a PM on the forum, together with some screenshots of your builds and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Oh also, can you share some of your plans with us? I know you have many, but only so that everybody gets an idea.

Where should I start?
the first thing to do it get a building team together, that's the main thing. After that we can start building and replacing buildings. My ultimate goal is to have every building in carthaga fit in with the others and to make the city grow.

I have been walking through Carthaga for the past day and I came up with some stuff that needs to be fixed, improved or built. This is what I got so far:
1) finish the tower Haastregt started building in the North end
2) build a wall around the redstone farm-area, just to hide it from sight
3) improve some of the bridges
4) make a new viewing platform to replace the old one
5) build a new apartment building in the south end
6) bookshop and bar in the south end
7) build a University in the south end
8) work on the development in Limes village
9) find an area to develop into a new housing area

How would a redstone farm work

just farms that are operated by redstone signals, like a tree farm or a sugarcane farm

Respect the creations of others. It's probably the most important on a community server since many of the other commandments would be unnecessary if it were followed.

8) I send a PM to the residents there, whom are mostly derelict or banned As of now, I haven't got a response, so we might be able to proceed with this soon.
9) Limes Village will over some new plots, but sooner or later we will need more, hehe

Maybe AWW can help with point 9) as well, because there is this very nice hill close to the beach, which could be transformed in a prime real estate location. Let's discuss online, but I imagined something in the line of this:
