  1. Are you trolling us right now? I believe the US got dragged into both World Wars.
  2. Yeah I read that and thought that but didn't want to post and look stupid being wrong. I thought I learned that. If I remember right, USA was dragged into the Vietnam war too.
  3. The only not far right, or at least not swinging right, link there is politico.. that I know of. The rest are straight up Right.. so.. neither the independent, nor left, were represented in the post.

My only reason for pointing that out. Its very unwise to come into a debate like this only quoting things that goes out of its way to MAKE what you believe to be true. I am not saying its not. But if there was even one Left side link up there, I would have believed that he was doing more research than just reading whatever Glenn Beck told him to.
  4. I never said I was against Romney or against Obama, for all you know I am an undecided voter. I am simply trying to open your eyes to some of the things happening around you.
  5. You can play that card if you want, but I'm not buying it. My eyes are open, trust me on that one, and the price of gas isn't even on my radar as a valid issue to be concerned about. The economy, yes. What we're going to do about Iran, yes. The price of gas, no.
  6. Trust me, for everyone under the rich they are worried about gas prices and how they are going to turn out. If they keep going up that will not be a good thing.
  7. Ehh, I think? I'm not too clear on history in that era. I definitely wouldn't say we were dragged into Vietnam though.
  8. Well the price of gas falls under the economy in my eyes. You need gas to get around to places, so it's more of a need than a want.

  9. Im actually not worried about gas prices, and Im unemployed, staying away from welfare, as to not fall into that 47% that Romney Happily says he will never be able to sway to vote for him.
  10. I dont know one we got dragged into 2? Cant remeber
  11. all the more reason for car companies to give us higher efficiency engines
  12. hahaha.. no. US even held out of WW2 until japan bombed Pearl Harbor, even with UK pleading for assitance, because we did not want to be involved in another war, after aiding for nearly the same thing in WW1. So yeah, we assisted in both. I would not say US was really drug into 2 as much as forced by a bomb to make some noise.
  13. I dunno lets get back on topic xD
  14. Actually, a guy was on Colbert the other night about a Liquid Metal battery that in this decade will not only replace all of our battery uses, but will also help even out the power grid dependency by adding a great battery to the grid thats more practical for big things.. like cars, that can go hundreds of miles on a single charge.

While it sounds ever so nice, he will probably get shot by shell or BP before he gets to far.

  15. Exactly what I learned from the indoctrinated textbooks in high scool, Smooch. :)
  16. Back on topic? Okay if you say so! I believe the actual topic question was "have you voted yet?". :p lol
  17. No
  18. Oh that was! And no I haven't voted yet. I think people saw his huge freaking (n)Obama magnet and went to town debating.
  19. Ok, well I would like you to explain Obama's "Apology Tour" in 2009.

ROMNEY: The president in his campaign some four years ago said he'd meet with all the world's worst actors in his first year. He'd sit down with Chavez and Kim Jong-il, with Castro and with president Ahmadinejad of Iran. I think they looked and thought, "Well, that's an unusual honor to receive from the president of the United States." And then the president began what I have called an apology tour, of going to various nations in the Middle East and criticizing America. I think they looked at that and saw weakness.

OBAMA: Nothing, uh, Governor Romney just said is true, starting with this notion of me apologizing. This has been, uhh, probably the biggest whopper that's been told during the course of this campaign. And every fact-checker and every reporter [who] has looked at it, Governor, has said this is not true.

ROMNEY: Reason I called it an apology tour is because you went to Middle East and you flew to Egypt and to Saudi Arabia and to Turkey and Iraq. And, by the way, you skipped Israel, our closest friend in the region. But you went to the other nations. And, by the way: They noticed that you skipped Israel. And then in those nations, and on Arabic TV, you said that America had been "dismissive and derisive." You said that "on occasion America had dictated to other nations." Mr. President, America has not dictated to other nations. We have freed other nations from dictators.

Now here is some transcripts from Obama's Tour:

OBAMA 04.03.09: In America, there's a failure to appreciate Europe's leading role in the world. Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America's shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.

Now, what the heck would you call that?

That's even worse than an apology!

This is the guy running around blaming our country to the Europeans, who wouldn't exist if it weren't for us. We have defended them. I call your attention to the cemeteries all over Europe again. They don't have to have defense budgets because of us, because of NATO. They're free to run their Western democracies, their socialism into the economic ground all they want. They're free to implode economically like they are because we have propped them up. The Marshall Plan!

OBAMA 06.04.09: Iraq was a war of choice that provoked strong differences in my country and around the world. 9/11 was an enormous trauma to our country. The fear and anger that it provoked was understandable, but in some cases it led us to act contrary to our traditions and our ideals. We are taking concrete actions to change course. I have unequivocally prohibited the use of torture by the United States, and I have ordered the prison at Guantanamo Bay closed by early next year.

It was outrageous that he would say this. He's over at the seat of our enemies. Cairo, Egypt, is where Al-Qaeda was born! Well, Saudi Arabia for bin Laden, but Zawahiri and all these guys and the hijackers were Egyptian, many of them Saudi. He goes over there and promises to close Gitmo. He accepts every talking point that we were guilty. We had no reason to go into Iraq.

OBAMA 06.04.09: There's been controversy about the promotion of democracy in recent years, and much of this controversy is connected to the war in Iraq. So let me be clear: No system of government can or should be imposed by one nation on any other.

See, Romney was dead on right. Here he is once again. Democracy is not what we're about. Freedom is what we're about, and you do not "impose" freedom. You liberate people and give them freedom. You don't impose freedom on people. It's not possible, because freedom is not an imposition.
