Awww, poor Mr. Mystery I don't mind the change, although out could be tweaked a bit like only having 15 days for brand new members and once they reach 60 days, they get 30 days derilect protection. Just so any members that quit within like 20 days of starting arent holding res's that could be going to people that are wanting to play. But 30 days is good for me, thanks guys
I was honestly happy with the 15 days we had already, because if someone didn't even take a simple 2/3 minutes to vote and reset their derelict, I think they would be gone for good, or is that just me?
Psht, it takes less time to set up auto login for the Android version of minechat. Logs you in, then pick the server. Only took me a few seconds to log in my alt.
Yay! I like this. When I first started playing and having the 10 day limit. At the time it wasn't much of a problem cause well I was new to multiplayer minecraft so it was lots of fun and had summer vacations to spend lots of time on. But then later when minecraft would get boring at times I would find it more of a chore to come on for a bit every now and then just so I wouldn't lose all my hard work.
Amazing! I don't think I will ever have problems now if I become a regular player again! Amazing update!
what if someone lost their internet? as, i almost did, and i freaked out.. i can't lose what i've gotten done..
Nope, it was system. Regardless, it doesn't matter if it was force claimed or not, policy is policy. We are now improving policy to help people be less likely to lose their work. The problem is not everyone is as experienced to think of alternate methods to login. What if they have no cellphone? Not every teen has one. What if they are grounded? What if parents decide to restrict it for the sake of keeping their grades up to weekends only? There are many legit life cases that can limit a players ability to play. 1 Month window should accommodate most needs.
To be honest this bothers me a bit. Why not 20 days or maybe 25? On SMP1 I couldn't imagine how this would play out. On SMP3 I see people over 150+ days derelict. SMP1 will be filled because from what I can tell people who are new log on every 15 or 20 days and the reses will remained filled. Most people log in within a 30 day time period so there will be a lot less open residences. This will discourage people to get supportership (even iron protects your residence/residences) and the fact that servers will be packed again full of reuses might not be a good thing because there will be no room.
If 30 days comes around and you have not logged in then odds are you are done playing. My neighbors are either perm banned or have been gone for 150 days plus... To be honest I would not even consider force claiming a res under 100, unless of course that res only has a couple of trees and a dirt hut on it. But that is my opinion. People worked hard on a res to have to it force claimed while they were on a Minecraft break. When you get burnt out, you get burnt out. They should not be punished for burn out. Just my thoughts. BTW 30 days is awesome, thanks for the change!
like Aikar said, i was just freaking out a few days ago because i don't want the battcave, or anything to get reset when i can't make my internet payment, and i wouldn't be able to log in, or even get on the website to tell them i can't log in (as my phone only works off wifi, i'd be completely screwed) 30 days leaves a lot of room for this kind of thing, then i have enough time to be able to pay the bill next paycheck and i wouldn't have to fret so much.
