To be honest I feel like it's not just the US that suffers from a system where voting for smaller candidates is political suicide. I don't see the point in bothering to vote when no one will vote for any of the alternatives.

You get people to vote for the alternatives by voting for them when others don't. Eventually there's enough people to force a change. The one amazing thing we're seeing from Brexit here is the complete demolition of the two party system - in fact the Conservatives are about to have their worst ever election result.

Its positive media buzz and voting for parties that want to break the two party monopoly that you make this change, and voting is the only you'll do that. If you don't like any parties, spoil the ballot. There's never any reason to not vote.

You know I used to be excited to vote when I was younger but now that I'm learning more and more about politics I realise that my vote doesn't matter at least in my country, all the candidates are trash and people are still voting in the parties that have made it blatantly clear they're there to represent corporations and not us.

Ehh the podcaster was telling him to 'just say no' as a set up for a joke, and yeah he says on the podcast that he set it up as a joke and even says that if Jake actually tries to start drama he'll kick his ass

I wasn't good at the theory parts but I was good at and loved the sciencey neurology parts. The study into depression, PTSD, OCD, parental bonds, gender dysphoria, sexuality, etc. was all very useful for everyday application. On top of that it helped me get into university even with my relatively low grade compared to my class and is relevant to my degree.

And also my teacher was hot and a very cheerful person (teachers with all the energy of Eeyore on half a glass of NyQuil don't teach well at all) so that was a big bonus
