i got 2s emeralds, 2s diamonds, some enchanted books (silk touch!!!) and obsidian too. if u didnt got stuff; u can have a 2nd chance in my give away event (has event chests too!). but i had something even much more better: FUN!! Chuck showed me a chest under a tree
Well, it seems I posted my rant on the wrong thread (sort off) but I guess that can't be helped. And 2 rants are better than one anyway; twice for same price I just want to say that I think that the whole event is in one word brilliant. And that's an understatement. I can only shudder at the thought of all the work that went into this. And I'm not talking builds, builds are relatively easy. Someone comes up with a plan, you get people together to build and wham. And no offense; this probably even applies extra here considering that we're talking about staff who (so I assume) all have access to creative mode or an equivalent for building (I could imagine flight). The pizazz lies in the details, and if you stop to look them (after the hunt for example) you'll soon learn that those details are just about everywhere. Now that's impressive. From cleverly hidden chests to cleverly not hidden chests and even ways to help you get more confused. Or what about Aphea & Highlancer (I had to grin when I saw that)? What about the simplest build such as a toilet? If you stop to look at the chests and start to look at the environment you'll soon come to realize how brilliant this whole thing actually is. Sorry, I'm not done yet - Self moderation at work - apologies if this made less sense - Sure, you can try to sell them and risk getting banned. But why not get together with some friends and try to combine them? We ended up with 4 stacked chests which got shared between 2 people, next some others which we "pooled" and then also divided in two. And if you do this carefully (one chest at a time) you'll even be able to keep track of chests which don't stack so that you can honestly share between yourselves. But, as I mentioned elsewhere: I would strongly advice players to only do things like these with others who you fully trust. Because that's a major requirement. And being a good sport helps too. As in: don't make a fuss if you end up with, say, 2s diamonds and someone else gets 2s diamonds and also 4s of emeralds (for example). Or promo items. If that could be a problem then it might be best not to "chest pool". But if you do then it can be lots of fun. Finally I also think it was brilliant how Aikar not merely activated the whole thing but also kept an eye out for improvements. The 2nd reboot / update activated the option for us to use /vault and town chat while in the event (iirc anyway). And having /vault access really helped me out SO yah, I think this was an awesome event. True, but that's what I also considered brilliant: there were much more chests than 15 around. And by doing so the staff managed to appeal to all players (I think). The younger players who might not easily find the more hidden chests but also to those who want a harder challenge. Because some chests were hidden in some pretty interesting areas. On top of a tree, under a fence pole (as if it was a common block), hidden under a roof (jump to open), etc, etc. You'd risk your chests becoming even more valuable I think Not only that, when done right it also helps EMC as whole I think. I still remember wining a Christmas present, I got a PM from someone who told me that an anonymous player had left me and several others presents. At that time I grinned ("anonymous stranger" while I can simply see who send the pm?) and joked about it. Only months later did I come to learn that the person I had talked to, liked, commented on his profile, etc, etc. was actually an alt Sheer brilliance With that in mind I also think its fair to say that alts don't only work the numbers, but can do so much more...
Well, I was talking about having alts to obtain just incredible amounts of items. The unfairness, in my opinion, is that one person with a higher real-life income has a greater ability to get more of the items than a person with a lower income, because higher income == greater disposable income for things that occupy their free time, i.e, minecraft alternate accounts. (I cannot stress this enough that this is my opinion) To me, this reflects a pay-to-gain-advantage. I personally didn't win any promos. And I'm okay with that, because it was a fun event But I guess the bandwagon disagrees with my comment, and I'm also okay with that.
I didn't know if many would stop and look at it all, but . Some will rush thru it, some will run through looking at a ton of what we all did. Hey, a decent sized town, with one toilet? Will most likely cause some sort of a line! One 'furnished' house, and one ready for someone to move in (empty). There are more around that are not 'so obvious' and I am still amazed at all the hard work that Aikar, and staff put into this. Be sure to take screenshots of it all in remembrance! Happy 300k!

In total I got 14 items, since one of the chests didn't give me anything, whatsoever...
