  1. Sorry to be a broken record over and over through out the years, BUT would you ever consider giving us /sethome command? Maybe even /plothome? Donors could get more set homes (like 6?) and non-donors could get like 2??

The generic answer has always been "teleporting" will break the economy... blah blah blah. Come on, derelict shops that sell stuff for old prices are more of an issue that the few active people selling stuff. The flip side to teleporting, people will be more encouraged to BUY tons of crap to use on their bases.

  2. I wholeheartedly agree with you, however, I’d hate for a new dragon tombs-type meme be created lol
  3. That's already in the works

  4. I think I can safely say that this will never happen, because teleporting around in this manner will break the economy. Just imagine afk'ing at an iron farm all night, then teleporting back to town to unload all of your iron. You could just teleport right back to your farm and repeat the process.

The main thing holding the farming economy together right now is the distance and time required to transport those items back to town. If the distance were to be cut down to a few seconds, the supply would almost instantly be flooded with newly farmed items, and the price of that item would reach zero within hours.

Currently, the plan for Empires is to allow players to teleport to their outposts. There would be an initial cost to create your outpost, but you should be able to teleport as much as you want. This is purely speculation, and none of it is verified.

As it stands right now, there is somewhat of a solution to what you are asking. You could set your spawn point at your bed out at your outpost, then make your way to spawn in whatever way you choose. When you get to spawn, you can get whatever items you want, put them in your enderchest, and then find some way to respawn at your bed. You'll have all of your items in your enderchest and you'll be back at your outpost. Then, whenever you want to get back to spawn, you can break the bed, and then find another way to respawn. This solution isn't exactly what you're requesting, but it's pretty close for what seems realistic.
  5. So basically the same old generic answer over and over. "break the economy". People actually think the maybe 100 active players will drop everything they are doing and buy all the iron? Let's say that happens, then what? What are they doing with that iron? How much iron can anyone one person use? They will stop buying it because resale isn't happening. You can make only so many hoppers, etc... What will happen is price correction. Sure the prices will drop at first but it will correct itself. No one is going to buy 40 double chests of iron that is worth nothing.

Continuing with the "same old, same old" model is why the server is almost dead. Most servers give you something like /sethome with 2 to 5 FREE and something like /claim, /plot, /town, or use a golden shovel to claim blocks for grief protection. Then you can teleport back to /spawn, /hub, /lobby, /town, etc... All of those servers have economies with farms and shops. Typically people buy what they need and move on.

People can talk about the "outpost" thing all they want, staff has been talking about that for 5 plus years and nothing has changed. In those 5 years the active player base has dropped by hundreds if not thousands. Back in the day all the SMPs were almost always FULL. More active members = more people willing to donate, more donations = more developers to create NEW content. New content = even more new players... rinse and repeat. The opposite is true too: less new content = less active, less active players = less donators, less donations = fewer developers continuing the less new contain. At what point does the "less donations" = dead server? Then you will have the true "break the economy" because the power if off when the owner can't pay the server bills.

Said my piece (again). Thought something might have changed or people might be open for change, but it looks like "same old, same old" still reigns. Laters
  6. If you want to make a suggestion... You should make a suggestion in the Suggestion Box. This thread isn't really designed for responding to questions/ideas.
  7. You're not wrong. This has been an excuse for many many years for many things. There is far more 'breaking the economy' then teleporting.
  8. fill a ton of shulkers up, place shulkers in enderchest. hug a cactus & die, spawn in town, open ender chest.
and if you build your farms somewhat close to spawn like i have there is no difference with teleportation or not. if anything adding teleportation will encourage people to build further out from spawn which would lower the chance of greifing.
  9. The Empire of the Future - My vision! (Updated: 7/13/18) original 2014..

What you have to keep in mind, is that idea's change, Aikar's enthusiasm was motive for everyone to have fun; Chickeneer is doing the same.
