This is fun. Chickeneer posted this on May 14. "I haven't opened the code yet. But with them postponing the stuff I was most worried about (world height junk). I am cautiously optimistic that we have this update out fairly quick. Minimally a week after Mojang. But probably not much longer, depending on when they drop the update and my IRL availability." https://empireminecraft.com/threads/1-17-holy-crap.83425/page-5#post-1589953 The update came out on June 8. Coders are absurdly optimistic as we have seen on this server over and over, and that's all good. And this is not IRL, as I have been told, and I don't know his IRL availability. But in the spirit of gamesmanship I will estimate September 3 at 11 pm emc time.
Just as an example for the other players, Katy your time has passed now so you are allowed to make a new guess. (No, I won't remind everyone of their time passing this is just the first time as an example, so try to keep it in mind if you want to stay in the game)
Renewed Guess. Saturday August 14 at 3pm EMC. (Couldn't open the list on my phone right now to if that was taken, but move it down an hour block if it was someone else's) I would also like to donate a beacon to the prize box.
You have the highest chance to win if you just guess a time shortly before the time that you will be next online.
True, but that would imply that you would make a lot of guesses. This is completely allowed, but if you are going to win, wouldn't you like the bragging rights that you won with the least amount of guesses?
I'm afraid you already have a current guess that has not passed yet: You are allowed to make new guesses, but only after your previously guessed time has already passed. So per the rules I won't be adding your new guess to the list.
What happens if our time passes, and then the update happens, but we updated our guess before the winner is announced, and our original guess was the closest? Will you go by the current guesses or will you take into account all of the previous guesses, too?
pretty simple: Per the rules I posted in the beginning of this thread Meaning, that as soon as the update happens, any and all new posts to this thread are completely ignored. In your example that would mean that your "new guess" will not be added to the list, but since your "original guess" was the closest (even though it's in the past) you would still win as it would still be your "current guess". In short: the game stops when the update happens, not when I find the time to come online and announce a winner.
