Oh no I missed it this year! I meant to make this year's corny anniversary post, but I've been busy. Maybe next year. This year though, I will share one of the projects I've been working on. It's gonna look cool, but it won't be finished until 1.13 comes out. I need prismarine stairs. This thing is going to power it: It's entirely unnecessary, but I wanted to be able to switch the grinder to different capacities so that I could reduce the amount of drops/lag produced. The demonstration is a bit long because it shows how the grinder can be set to any state from any other state. If anyone wants to help with this project I need lots of string. See you all next year!

Sad to see that this thread is dying off a bit. I did notice that in the first four years of the LLO, we produced 698 pages in this thread, and the subsequent almost four years has produced 17 pages. I went on a nostalgia induced trip around tonight, and came across all sorts of stuff I'd never seen before that hasn't been touched in years. I also discovered that someone (Jakres?) had made a statue of me, which was pretty cool tbh. I'm glad to see that there hasn't been a lot of damage recently, it's still amazing to walk around and see the place.
Hi mba. This was I think a unique and uniquely successful example of people building a community in trust and cooperation. It is true that most if not all people moved on, which is perfectly natural. Minecraft, though, is still a powerhouse of a game, and is attracting new generations through time. As those new generations come along there will be an amazing record left behind, like the great pyramids in Egypt or ancient cities of the Maya. I did have the idle thought recently that it might be fun to make a video telling the story of the LLO, but I don't know how to do that.
I would love to see this. It would be ideal if one or a couple of formerly active LLO members would happen to have experience creating researched videos, I suppose.

Sunstreak islands... Haven't heard that name in a long time! It is sad to see the thread fall off in activity quite a bit - it seems that it started to decrease at about the same time as general minecraft activity decreased as well. It's nice to know that the memories that were made at the outpost will always be there.

Now I've got all these ideas of hiding artifacts and bones with player heads around LLO. Also that'd be a cool video! I'd be down to help in any way. That's life, I suppose. People move on from game to game. But who knows, maybe something's still kicking in the shadows? Just kidding, I've got plenty ideas still for stuff I wanted to do at LLO, but let's be real. All I ever build is hot air balloons and tents. At this point though, this thread might as well be our place to keep in touch with each other. So let's chat!
