I can see this in 5 ways

1. smp8 needs independence and I respect it

2. What will happen to the public utilities and the hunting grounds when it takes effect.

3. It being a April Fools prank.

4. People will be furious with the independent move

5. EMC will be for the better or for the worse.

That's how I see this in my opinion.

If SMP8 was a person, it'd be the "wow, I'm so RANDOM!1111!!!! XDDD"/"I'm different to every1 else, noone understands meh" type of person. Personally, I'd love to say good riddance to... that. Like, shot in the head in the Mexican desert and buried beneath 10 feet of sand 'good riddance'.

But alas, this isn't happening, because it's an April Fools.

I'd stop freaking out if I were you. It's a really bad and annoying and seriously cringy joke, which is what April Fools jokes are. If this really were happening, there would be a lot more preparation, there would be a better reason than 'we let some random ass people vote in a poll that had a spelling error in it', there would be more staff intervention on the thread, and it certainly wouldn't be posted on April 1st.

Trust me; I've been here for five years. I know what EMC's April Fools jokes look like lol.

It's time to be rebellious (a little bit) so instead of posting this guide in the right forum section I'm dumping it here for all to see.

[Guide] SMP8 is leaving, where do I stand?!

Things will be changing but the most important dilemma most people have is how to respond to all this. Is this the right time to pack up your things and move to SMP8 (Carol & Aya might be able to help you out with that, more official news on that follows later) or should you stay put?

Or what if you're on SMP8? Should you part and (re)join the Empire or should you stay and "go with the flow" (the actual split/move)?

I'm not from SMP8 myself, but I think that makes me the perfect candidate to write this up, also because I consider myself totally unbiased. Of course I will be glad that all those smelly marriage fish will finally be gone, but that's hardly showing bias right?

This is a tough one. I think you need to loosen up a bit and try to have fun. Also recognize fun. But considering the whackyness that is SMP8 I think you should consider to move. Somewhere...

You should definitely not get over excited and sit things out until the end of the weekend. Sleep it over and mine away all the ores from the SMP8 wasteland while you're at it.

Good news! This means that you'll get married really soon now and I also see parrots in the near distant future. My recommendation is trying to go out mining on SMP2 or SMP4 for a change

You should definitely consider doing what you think is best unless you think about leaving the Empire because there's no need for that at all. Sleep it off, get a fish or two and see what's going to happen

It is not one of my best guides, but I still think it will help some of you. I also hope this thread hasn't been closed in the mean time because that's what happened last time when I tried to write something like this

CD you should know fine well the trouble we get from smp8 eclipses anything we get from other servers (except 9, but they get a pass). Saying Good Riddance to 8 will free up so much of my time I am considering hosting mob arenas again.

This guide/test made me recontemplate my entire life.

nah, that guy simply got punished for using illegal mods he blames staff because he knew what was coming

Like wow! I was gone RL for a couple of weeks to come back and see this? I thought the initial thread for the independence of SMP8 was a joke and even made some comments in it. Now... I need to get my alt out of there. This is gonna cost me to move. I knew SMP8r's were "Special" for a long time but I ain't leaving the Empire. Hope this works for y'all crazy SMP8r's. That's all I got to say about that.

IT IS ABOUT TIME! Has anyone composed a national anthem yet?

Currently we are planning the SMP8 War of the New Overlords. Determinations so far:

Jarl LBG and Court Mage BK will bring a navy and the Hulk.

I will bring Corrupted (who needs no title), RD The Architect, airships, Seffy The Zar of Feesh, and Godzilla. I'm also planning on an alliance with Keph Tiger Book Master Flash and Kaptrix of Dominion.

Rhy The Procrastinator and Dufne The Wise are bringing minions. They're the underdogs, but they stand a chance if they stay out of the Godzilla vs The Hulk battle I think.

Chris The Flareon is planning on acting as Switzerland with his followers.

Ulti with his faithful Tuq will be making money off the war of course, and will probably emerge as the ultimate victors by having all the Lira
