  2. We actually had a blast doing it. All working together, but still goofing off! :p
  3. awww, just 2 late. soz guys

i heard about the probs and when Ben & Bobby went out there I tagged along. Bobby & me kept the blazes away while Ben was doing all repairs in the towers. the guys voted that i should do the report, but i had 2 take a break first.

i think all shell did was bring some pots along, and left us 2 to the work. typical ^.^

bobby & ben are amazing ppl 2 work with!
  4. ya'll said that hot rods was fixed, but the "temporarily closed" signs are still up as well as the blocks there. were those just forgotten about, or is there still more repairs being done ? it's okay if it's still being repaired but i didn't know if it was, lol. sorry for bothering ^^;

  6. oh alright ! sorry for bothering about it, but was wondering and didn't wanna go in if repairs were still being made, haha. thanks for replying ! and it's fine, it happens to everyone sometimes, pff.

  7. I think I put those up or Corrupted (the temp closed signs/barrier).
Guys, I can't thank you enough for the break tonight. It was a really full long day. I took a nap on the couch and now I'm going to go to bed. I'll log in tomorrow and take it down if no one beats me to it first. Thank you all so much!

  9. This idea came to me after ChrisFlareon mentioned that Fe(II) was originally ment to be a manual farm. After hashing out the idea back and forth, I went and build a 'Proof-Of-Concept' of what I call Golems~In~A~Barrel, or GIAB.

If you approve of the idea let me know and I'll get to work buildin it on the server.
Also, if this is the wrong place to be postin this I apologize.

  10. Hi Lacronton,
    Cool and thank you!

This is a fine place to put that post, or you could send me a convo. Crazy and Racer are currently also working on a re-design for Fe(II) to allow a manual kill to take precedence over an afk option. Let me put the specifications down here for everyone. It's hard to type this all in game, and probably belongs here in any case.

Fe(II) redesign specifications for everyone interested -
    • Manual kill and AFK options. The manual kill should always take precedence over the AFK. For example, the manual kill player would stand on pressure plates that would close a golem drop into the afk kill area (just one idea as an example). They probably need to be separate areas since with manual kill, the drops tend to spray all over.
    • Drops from the AFK option should go into the player's inventory.
    • Drops from the manual kill can either just be picked up or hopper/chest or ETC. They can go directly into player's inventory, but not necessary.
    • 1.9 made a change where the golems can hit the player back unless you are hitting them from above. This is why we swapped Fe(II) temporarily over to an AFK farm. We need a player safe method for manual kill where the player won't fall in with the golems they're trying to kill.
    • Nice to have feature - support more than one person AFK. I have no idea if this is even possible, but allowing 2-3 people to afk at the same time would be nice. If it's ridiculous to do or will be a mess, never mind.
    • K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple Stupid. The less complicated the build is, the better it will work as a public build. We have to maintain and support all these builds through EMC updates, Mojang updates, and players finding new and amazing ways to break things. The simpler it is, the more I'll love it. Go for elegance and simplicity please. The public builds are the worst places possible for any complicated redstone or player knowledge being required. (Pigmentus is a bloody recurring nightmare - learned my lesson.)
If you have a redesign idea, please feel free to send me a world download or screen captures in a convo describing your plan. That's probably easier for me to manage than posting them all here in this thread. More than likely, we'll wind up combining ideas unless someone really knocks it out of the park with their plan. More brains though usually equals better results. Thank you all!

  11. AncientTower reported an issue with some of the signs at Fort Wart and The Dragon Slaying Arena. He said some of the signs belong to ProxyPD and he can't break them. Additionally, the chests at the Arena aren't allowing him to lock them. They need to be broken and replaced in NoProtectMode so people can lock them. I'll be back online later tonight to look into these issues. If anyone beats me to it, great, post here please! If not, I'll handle it tonight once chores and dinner are done.
    Thanks Tower and everyone <3

  12. Fort Wart locked chest room is all fixed thanks to ElfinPineapple!
I'm on my way to the Dragon Slaying Arena locked chest build next to fix the issue AncientTower reported.
    Cheers all <3

P.S. If you have any interest in the Fe(II) redesign, details are 2 posts before this one. ;)

EDIT: First floor of the Dragon Slaying Arena is all good for anyone to lock a chest. There are tons available there, so I only did the first floor. A few blocks had also been griefed at the Arena. It was just 3, so I went ahead and fixed that too. Ditto at NHG. All done, woot!

  13. What's Cooking with SMP8 Public Wild Utilities (PWU)?
For those who want to know what's done, what we're currently doing, and what's coming up in the next few months. I have jury duty for possibly the next 5 weeks, so we're on a bit of a hiatus with these projects.

    What's Been Done Recently
    • FORT WART the new witch hut farm and grinder is open!
      • You can reach Fort Wart along the way to Hot Rods via Sushi Drop (look for blaze rod pixel art on the drop floor wall - portal is under there).
    • Lots of minor fixes and repairs done. Thank you everyone who helped! We've been having one thing after another breaking recently, and I really appreciate all the help everyone's given <3
    What's In Progress
    • Fe(II) will be getting more locked chest space.
    • The Fe(II) kill chamber and collection redesign. This actually hasn't started yet, but it is #1 on the list of priorities to get done next. See specifications below if you have a design idea please.
    • Slime Time is being renovated due to a griefing. The entire Wild South complex has been transferred to Slvr and Walrus. They are going to keep the builds public. It's too much for me to run 4 different areas. The slime farm and squid farm will eventually be rebuilt out at Wild North. If you want to help repair and redo Slime Time, please contact Slvr and AverageWalrus or just post here on this thread. They could use some help with that. I believe TBird is already assisting.
    • Find a great slime chunk/s at Wild North at least 100 blocks away from the other builds.
What's coming up in the future?
    • The Nether Public Utilities Express. This one is becoming a more pressing need and more requested. Expect to see it moved into the "In Progress" section in the next month or so. Redo all the transportation and put it in the Nether for faster public utility access. Rail, horse, and ice boat transport options. This would also involve perfectly linked nether portals, which is a thing you can google if you've no idea what I'm on about. Having players wind up in Pigmentus unexpectedly would be bad LOL. We'd leave the roads at at Wild North, and NHG is fine as is. The North rail though would be removed and replaced by a Wild North Nether Portal transport hub. Each build at North would get its own "drop off" portal.
    • Slime farm at Wild North.
    • Squid farm at Wild North. I need a technical designer with experience on EMC making squid farms please. Merek is working on this design.
    • SeffyChan's Murder Hole. This is a generic mob grinder and would involve another "big dig" like the one we did for the witch hut.
    • Ghast Farm - WitherDoggie. This is a new design by Doggie different than the Scream Machine I was toying with doing. It still needs review and testing for EMC.
    • Wither killing area. Prometha brought up this idea before, and Tuq has raised it again. Corruptedsmile already has a challenge/fun wither killing area. This idea is more about a fast easy efficient wither killing spot. It has many challenges to it. The wither is destructive. The wither's behavior changes with player difficulty settings. Etc. This one is solely in the "throwing ideas around" stage.
Fe(II) redesign specifications for everyone interested -
    • Manual kill and AFK options. The manual kill should always take precedence over the AFK. For example, the manual kill player would stand on pressure plates that would close a golem drop into the afk kill area (just one idea as an example). That's everything I can think of for now. If you're interested in any of these projects, please post here on this thread. "In Progress" projects take priority over the future projects, so please, have some patience if your interest is for a future one
Slime Time is temporarily closed for a renovation due to a griefing. Slvr and Walrus are close to completing repairs. Thank you for your patience.

  17. I need everyone that will come out at WILD C please. Major griefings in at least 2 locations. Bring picks and food, etc. No materials needed. Someone covered the builds in cobble. The ninnies.

  18. Thats terrible D: I cant believe something was griefed again!

  19. I want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has come out to clean up this griefing. You all rock!
This was not a run of the mill grief. Multiple large buildings and locations were covered in cobble, floors were destroyed, roads were damaged, roofs were damaged, etc. This included the Cathedral which is something of an EMC landmark for marriages.
When I logged out last night, the worst of it was taken care of, but there may be more we hadn't seen yet. Additionally, there was still a good bit of detail repair work to do. Builds missing pieces of the wall, roof, floors, roads, etc. Dirt and wood griefer access paths also.
GRIP, FCC, PWU, smp8, and the EMC community at large all came together to repair this mess in record time. Thank you all so much for being so awesome.

I will be on later today to see if anything still needs to be mopped up out there. BurgerKnight and EvilToade were out there with a large crew of people when I left last night. There were so many people who showed up and helped that there's no way for me to remember everyone's name. Off the top of my head, Shell and Fate were out there for nearly 12 hours working on it. There were many more too. Thank you guys so much <3
