Exactly, and I like yours. Because I can see your point quite clearly. But being someone who has a few alts himself (and really enjoys having them around) I also think that there are some other things to keep into consideration as well.. Alts come with a price, just like a support voucher. In fact: it would probably be cheaper to get a voucher (gold voucher: $10,-) than a new account (around $24,-). Say you got an alt and an extra res. and now you're trying to make the biomes all alike (so that the grass doesn't look funny). If your alt doesn't have enough tokens then you got a problem. Just like mains alts also have a derelict timer. The more alts you got the more important it becomes to keep them in mind. That is why some people even go as far as buying support vouchers for their alts. But maintaining those alts is often more work than you may realize. For example; it definitely changed my voting strategy completely. So on one hand I think you're fully right: us players do have an advantage. Heck, just think about promos: we can use the /promo account for every account we have; we get a freebie where others have to pay 10k rupees for it. But on the other hand we also have to more things to worry about. The alt not going derelict, sometimes the need to get them vouchers as well, and there's only so much you can do without tokens...
People with admin can set biomes on your res EG: I used my tokens on Chocolatatoes res. Jadziaa used tokens on my utopia res.
You are oh so right. Doh, I referred to a time when we didn't got /changebiome yet Silly me, someone even paid me to change the biome on their res. once. I think I'll get myself some more coffee.
You're out of line. Step back in it or staff will take action. The 'high-staff' didn't say something different. We just all said a different PART of the same thing. An investigation is not worth our time. It doesn't mean we didn't do one. We have video dated from March 20,2016. The investigation into the use of illegal mods started WAY before his self-confession. I wasn't revealing that from the start. We have self-confession on the forums, 3 weeks ago in pms, and 2 months ago in pms. We have premeditation going back of a player that wanted to be banned and you honestly still believe we are in the wrong here? Your views of staff are being clouded by your bias. If you don't like me, that's fine. People often don't like those that are put in place to keep them in line. But calling me names is rude and against our rules so don't do it again.
Oh, so you can be rude, but not others? Lower players must conform or face being punished? And, you can't really talk about views being clouded by bias.
I told you that you were out of line as a reminder warning about the rules of this server, which I enforce. If you are a player, then yes you must 'conform' to these rules. Have I ever stooped so low as to call you names? No.
There is quite a difference between calling someone names or simply sharing that you don't agree with someone. Also: and this is exactly the reason why issues such as these are normally handled in private. Both you and I may have our opinions (they don't match) but both of us also have basically no idea what we're talking about regarding the issue of the ban. We didn't see what the staff saw. But even so: name calling is not cool.
I think the use of illegal mods on servers are similar to the use of marijuana in the United States. There is more of it going on than anyone thinks. And its not just the scurvy people that live on the other side of town that do it. It's also the doctor or lawyer that live next door. With illegal mods it's not just the new player or the one that hides in the shadows it's also the long term member, the one everyone respects and likes. And I think it is very difficult for the administration of a server to detect. That is why the admission of a player to using illegal mods is one of the most frequently used methods of detection. That is also why the punishment needs to be so severe. It is very important to use the severe punishment as a deterrence because of the detection difficulty. Also, because it is so hard to detect the odds are a player has been using it for an extended period of time before being caught. Aikar is the most knowledgeable, smart server operator I have known. From what I have seen most are around 17 years old. I use voxel minimap, an approved mod. It comes with a radar but the server has disabled it. My question is that if Empire can disable one part of a mod and with all Aikar's knowledge, why is it not possible to to disable other illegal mods like xray so that we wouldn't have players tempted to use them?
We had a fix put in place that made anything you couldn't see head-on show up as stone, but code breaks sometimes. That's just how development goes and we have to focus on the other updates before it can be fixed. That's why you've been seeing an increase of people caught using Xray recently, opposed to the usual illegal mod ban for flying.
So I went to bed last night and when I woke up this morning I saw this: 38 alerts?!?! Most of them were from this thread. Of those, about half of them were people arguing with Kryssy and stuff like that. This server is supposed to be a friendly place for everyone. I do not want to wake up and see people ranting on why someone shouldn't be banned when they admitted they would be banned. Thank you for your time.
Most days the forums don't have drama. Most days we don't have to ban long-standing members of our community. It causes upset and it will every time that it happens. SteamboatWillie has been on the forums plenty without drama. He just wants to return to that as do a lot of us.
Why should I not be allowed to use the forums? Im just saying could you guys please move this to a pm? Please.
Btw I completely apologize if i have upset anyone. I was in debate last year and I'm still kinda using that class when I argue.
No, that's not true. In UHC me and about 4 others, PDJ being one of them, CONSTANTLY joke around about hacking. Has anyone reported? Nope. Do we actually hack? Pretty sure we don't. Also, that last little part of your comment is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wrong. On smp9 one day, a friend said "ok, off to go grief someone" and disconnects. One of the staff then connects, (I forget who but I think it was an SS) and says "don't report him he's not actually Griefing" Honestky Krysyy, at this point you're really just making the situation even more controversial than it already was.
