Stupid Question ALERT What is the difference between Veterans Day and Remembrance Day? One is Canadian one is Americian? One is Names Rememberance and another Veterans. All i know with these days is we HAVE to thank those who served in the war and honour them for LIFE!
I actually did quite a lot of research into this when we were deciding the promo item specifics last year. Remembrance Day is acknowledged in the UK/commonwealth as a day to remember those that died in the line of duty. Veterans Day is acknowledged in the USA for honoring all Veterans, past and present, who have served or are serving. Both originate from Armistice Day, the ending truce of WWI with the official end of the war being the Treaty of Versailles months later. This is why the promo lore says the following as a blend of the two days. 'Honoring all who served. Remembering those we lost.'
I won't be able to attend today's event but I still honor those that have and still serve. My freedom depends on them.
I've had a family member be in the navy. It was my mother's father from Iowa. He served 4 years. Don't tell me why a man from Iowa wanted sea legs. He died 32 years ago from a heart attack. Never smoked. I celebrate this day for a man I wished to see.
maybe a book should be given out not as a promo, where people write books about the war and story's ect just to make us remember what happened and all those who serveed
I would like to thank all the service men and women who are serving, have served and who had served and given "their all" in all the wars and conflicts of the past and present, to protect us from our enemy's. I would also like to thank Krysyy for all the time and effort she puts into this special day.
We're working on something development side that could possibly help with this, but it's not anywhere near live at the moment. Each players name would have to be typed individually.
If there is any disrespect at the ceremony like there was last year, I'll find you, and I will cover you in expired soy milk.
I'm pretty sure everyone last year was behaved based on the chat logs. It was the 9/11 ceremony we had issues with.
Thank you Krysyy for holding this event. I will try my best to be there to pay my respect to our veterans.
From 1998 - geez where'd that kid go to. Someone take my spot at the 'party' tonight - I'll be at work. As far as selling the Poppy - go for it. I served 10 years so you could have these freedoms - to include selling your Poppies. Mystul
