  1. I loved those days. Because time passes everything changed so fast in a good and bad way.
  2. Thought you were new to EMC?

  3. Pretty sure that is dubchef... edit: LOL hi zikko

And touche aikar. Although I'm sure you caught that I was being passive aggressive anyways :-P

    Edit: playfully of course ;-)

  4. It'd be great to have the land claiming. Me and my best friend have build out in the frontier, I've been building houses and he's built a castle. We recently had a problem with someone griefing and trying to steal but I caught them cause I was there in the area when they did it. They gave the stuff back and I warned them. If it happens again I'm going to report him. But yeah land claiming would be great so we wouldn't have to worry about that anymore.

  5. I've waited long enough for dragon tombs. I can probably wait a bit longer for empires and land claiming to come out first :p

  6. IDK about land claiming it could ruin EMC.....
  7. ...Why?

  8. around 300 people have voted. That's more people than are actively playing emc on average(pretty sure) at any one point. I don't see how that isn't a pretty good indicator of what the "majority" want. I mean, I would have guessed that the longer you left it up there the more people that would have said "oh look shiny" and picked dragon tombs, but that isn't the case. Since just that post more people have voted for land claiming and its gone from what you said at that time 35% to 33%. This surprised me to be honest. I expected, especially with the in game advertisement for more brand new people to read all the stuff from dragon tombs and get excited especially the way you tried to sell it :p

To be fair though, the way the poll is worded required me to read it over more than twice to figure out what was actually being said, so DT could very well have more support than what the poll would lead on. Not a feat for our active forum go-ers to reread the poll to nail down what is being said but patience is in short supply in the minecraft community as a whole. Maybe thats just another upside to EMC. We did pick the server where everything intentionally takes longer to do lol.

as far as ruining emc, that doesnt make any sense to me at all. If you have followed how the land claiming is claimed it will work then it will open up the wild to so many new people while shedding those of us that have kept our cool builds all to ourselves for fear of having theo show up. :p

  9. Lol, everyone knows I am not.
  10. I've been waiting for claiming / tombs for 3 years now....
I've barely played here for a while, yet kept my home and items intact in case this ever came out with what was promised. Finally...the time has almost come.
  11. Protection for one's creations will ruin EMC?

  12. The Padexian Empire

    'Nough said.
  13. Land Claiming, Dragon Tombs, Empires (you don't have this as an option).
  14. It's a shame that Dragon Tombs stands in the mere shadow of land claiming.

Not everyone would use land claiming, and building on protected land is ALREADY A THING. (town)
While Dragon Tombs would give emc an entirely new aspect.. which we only have been waiting 3 years for..

But don't worry. we can wait.

    EDIT:
My worries are that land claiming will lead to further abondonment of the town, leaving the new players in the future with a town without people. The town flourished when 'wild outposts' wasnt a thing yet. That's because communities were in town, making them accessible to join! Instead of making improvements to the community, land claiming will seperate the community into smaller communities and making them less accessible for new players.

I also want to apologize if I offended anyone. I'm just very very dissappointed to see the current outcome of the poll.

  15. I think Empires and Land Claiming go together, or Empires will need Land Claiming before Dragon Tombs to work effectively.
  16. I think you have to have empires to have land claiming. But you can have empires without going all the way to land claiming also.
  17. Protecting land or blocks sounds most important. if your blocks are save. and hopefully spawners too. Then things like farms i make can be used by more people. Now i keep it hidden. It also gives a reason to use better materials.

Only my builds are spread around wilderness... not sure how to protect and claim then.

  18. Just backing you up on this...
  19. Blood your still around ;-; I miss you lol Allot of people love going out in the wild and getting rected by the mobs :p.
  20. I'm not that worried to be honest... Here's the thing: in my experience most players care for one important thing: being able to play with others. While still keeping their own stuff safe. That last part is why you see this happening (IMO). Well, from what I read so far about land claiming it becomes obvious that this won't be something any player can do "just like that".

And about those smaller communities... Lets not forget the fact that anyone can start right away with messing with their residence whereas starting an Empire (or joining one) will always mean putting in much more effort. And keep in mind: just because the land can be protected doesn't mean that outposts will just let anyone join who wants to. Because every member you add to your outpost can still be a liability. Just like in town you'll need to be careful who to give permissions to, because if you give permissions then you'll probably could also give permissions to grief.

SO personally I don't think this will mean the end of town any day soon. Still, I do think you raise some very interesting and valid concerns.

A very valid point indeed. But isn't it possible that because of that there will always be player who will start new communities?

I'm on EMC for 300 days now, my main server being SMP2 and well... I see the exact same thing happening there. Some "EMC youngsters" who started their own SMP2 clubhouse, any SMP2 member is invited (yes ElfinCarrot, I'm looking at you ;)). And I noticed that there are dozens of newer and older players alike who joined it and participated in it. In my days that didn't exist yet ;)

Players will always group together and I can't help wonder that starting something in town will always be a lot easier than going out into the wilderness.

And I think you can agree with me that there are plenty of players who prefer easy. "Mining? Nah, can't be bothered with that I'd rather buy stuff!".

    Naah, don't sweat it!

If anyone takes offense to your post then I think that's mainly because of them than you. I think you expressed yourself quite well, even despite your disappointment (and I know how hard that is to express without becoming extremely negative).
