Just scored tickets to the world premiere of OUIJA SHARK in Toronto! Very excited!

"No Time To Die" is a great Bond theme. Looking back at the recent Bond themes, the tone of the song normally matches the tone of the movie. That suggests No Time To Die could be a very somber entry, even moreso than Skyfall.

      Well that was anti-climactic...

I just watched "The Phantom of the Opera" silent film from 1925. It's amazing how a movie without spoken dialogue can be so much more impactful than a lot of movies today. Do not write off silent movies!

Fun fact. The actor who played the phantom in that movie wrapped very tight wite around his face to give him that grotesque appearance. It was said to cause movie goers to faint at the sight. Thats dedication

That's awesome! Yeah, his appearance was terrifying. Lon Chaney's Phantom is insanely more grotesque compared to Gerald Butler's Phantom from 2004. I would've loved to see the moviegoers of that time react though!

I watched an old film that I might like to post my thoughts on, and wonder about others' (it's The Brave Little Toaster).

Thank you for the recommendation! The Brave Little Toaster is on my watchlist! No clue when I'll get to it though, I still have a bunch of Oscar nominees to watch. I wrote a short status update on 1917, but haven't posted my full review yet. If interested, you can see them here: https://letterboxd.com/daybreaker/film/1917/reviews/

Go see '1917'. No excuses. Roger Deakin's long-take / no-cut technique is beautiful! Thomas Newman's score is beautiful! Dennis Gassner's production design is terrifying. Overall, '1917' is horrifically beautiful and easily one of the best war films ever made. [9/10]

One more thing: the draw of the movie is the outstanding cinematography. If you're going to watch it, watch it in theatres. Biggest screen possible. This isn't a "wait to download" film.

I wish everyone a happy holidays! If you're in need of a Christmas movie, then I got just the one for you! "It's a Wonderful Life" is one of (if not) the greatest Christmas movies ever made. Enjoy the season with that classic!

I think I had a nightmare about the Cats movie last night. I woke up terrified because of it, but I can't remember having one for the life of me. Either I really did have a nightmare about Cats and my mind is blocking it out, or I'm going insane. Bottom line: this movie hurt me.
    15. DaybreakerMC
Just watched 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' and... 'Cats'. Very different films. One was epic and the other made me hate myself. You decide which was which. Once I recover from the horrors I witnessed in 'Cats' I shall write proper reviews.

Oh, you'd be surprised at how much I hated myself for entering that theatre. The last 30 minutes were full of my brother and I screaming at the screen asking for the credits to roll.

'Marriage Story' drops on Netflix today. I cannot encourage you enough to check this film out. I saw it at TIFF and was blown away. This is a masterpiece in cinema and will go down as one of the best films ever made. Fingers crossed for a Best Picture win!

Of course! Feature-length, foreign, documentary, shorts, they all count!

Also, Pulp Fiction and Empire are amazing SoulPunisher! Infinity War was a little weaker for me, it was awesome don't get me wrong, but Endgame was the hitter in my opinion.

'Frozen 2' is filled with wonderful songs and beautiful animation, but that can't save a messy story. It's got some good moments but it never becomes what it feels like Frozen 2 should be. Full review coming soon.

I won't read the review yet, as I'm hoping to see it in theatre with my family! It doesn't need to be as good as Frozen... if it's better than Moana I'm content. ;)
