Useful Tool: EMC Shopkeeper

  1. Dang. I assume this is happening when you reach around the 12,000th page?
  2. Question: Have you tried loading page 12,000 (or whatever page it's failing on) in a browser? How long does it take to load?
  3. 3seconds on my ipad on slow wifi

  5. 1.5mb ave down
  6. but at home i run the program on my main pc which is much faster and cable internet.
  7. Thanks Leo. I just wanted to confirm that the page could be loaded, and that EMC itself wasn't showing an error. :) I've implemented another solution which may fix the problem (increasing the timeout for connections). I will be releasing a new version soon.
  8. I can't even get in shopkeeper anymore;

    'Unable to launch the application.'
When I click on details, it shows me this:
    'Error: org.jfree.chart.ChartPanel'

When I open the exception tab it shows me this:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.jfree.chart.ChartPanel

Hope it helps, I love the shopkeeper app, and I can't wait for using it again! :)
  9. I assume you are using the auto-runner? Make sure you re-download the .jnlp file (click here). It was recently changed.
  10. Version 0.4.9 released! Changes include:
    • Increased the connection timeout for downloading transaction pages, so large transaction pages (~12,000 and above) don't timeout.
    • If an error occurs during the first update, you are now given a choice between saving the transactions or discarding them (before, it would always discard them).
    • Fixed a rendering glitch in the Update dialog.
  11. It looks like there might be a bug from the latest update:

  12. Namely?
  13. I earned 20k yet the rupees says 0r
  14. Derp. Bug fixed. I will be posting a new version soon!

Also, I've received error reports of people getting a "SQLException" error on startup. This bug has been fixed too. :)

  16. Thanks for the screenshot. Glad you finally got your transactions parsed.

Do you ever have problems with your Internet connection? If your router or Internet connection is flakey, then this could be causing the errors. The errors say that it's trying to connect to EMC, but EMC isn't responding. If it doesn't hear from EMC in a certain amount of time (10 minutes, which should be MORE than enough time), it throws the error.

Another possibility is that the website went down while you were performing the updates, but that is highly unlikely.
  17. Version 0.4.10 released! Changes include:
    • Fixed the "0 rupees" bug.
    • Fixed a "SQLException" bug that prevented old database versions from being updated during startup.
  18. I've been using this software for some time now, and i can recommend this to anyone running a shop, or anyone that wants to keep track of their incomes/outcomes.
