Welcome to the Empire!

  1. Upon connecting to Empireminecraft.com, you are welcomed by friendly players and staff. The server is different from others; rather than spawning at the server hub, you are in a place where no other players are.

    So, what should you do?

    Complete the Tutorial
The tutorial is the first thing all players must experience upon joining EMC. It teaches you how to play with the custom plugin that runs the server, and rewards you some in-game currency (rupees) so you can purchase items after you have completed the tutorial.

Be patient, and do not skip through the tutorial. There are many features on Empire Minecraft that are different from all other servers, and the tutorial teaches you how to make the most out of your time here at EMC. There are even easter eggs in the tutorial– but do not fret, you can always go back to the tutorial after you have completed it to find these hidden items, with the command /tutorial.

If you get stuck during the tutorial, simply ask the other members in community chat for help. Everyone is more than happy to help you.

    Go to your Plot
Once completing the tutorial and receiving your 2,000 rupee reward, you’ll be put into the SMP spawn. There are a total of nine servers you can spawn on, each numbered SMP 1-9. Use the command /home to go to your plot.

You will also spawn with a set of gear. This is known as the “starter kit”, and many of the items you receive will have the soulbound enchantment. This means that if you die, you will not lose these items; however, they still take durability and can break. Some of the soulbound items will be in your inventory, others will be in the chest at your plot.

As long as it abides with the EMC rules, you can build what you want on your plot, whether that be a farm or a home. However, mobs do not spawn in town.

    Head to the Wastelands
There are a total of three worlds on each SMP: Town, the Wastelands, and the Frontier. The town is a protected area where you have your own plot to build on. The Frontier is a place to build, but be careful what you do in the Frontier. Do not break other players’ structures, and try your best to not mine in the Frontier. This is because the Frontier is never, ever reset. It is a great place to build farms that require mob spawning and join outposts.

The Wastelands, however, are reset periodically and are great for resource gathering. Use the command /waste or /wnether to access the Overworld/Nether of the Wastelands. All players have access to the wastelands, so you may want to travel a bit to reach an area that is less dug up.

When you are in the Wastelands, you cannot return to Town unless you are at the waste spawn, which is the large quartz cereal-bowl looking structure that you spawn in when you type /waste. This means, once you leave the staircase, you cannot use the /home command to return to your plot unless you go back to the waste spawn.

If you die in the wastelands, you’ll lose your items, except for ones that have the soulbound attribute on them. Unless you have slept in a bed elsewhere, you will respawn in the server spawn.

When you die, the coordinates of the point that you died will be displayed in the chat. Use /waste to return the waste, then go to the coordinates to reclaim your lost belongings.

    Set up shop
Shops are a major part of the EMC community, and they help drive the in-game currency. You can use your rupees that you earned after the tutorial to buy items at shops, or you can sell items to shops and earn rupees.

Creating shops are easy to create. Refer to this guide for more information.

To attract players to your store, use the command /res tag add shop. Other players can then use /v +shop to get to your store, and other stores that are on the server.

    Claim a Promotional Item
Empire Minecraft have certain promotional items that are available when celebrating events, such as EMC’s anniversaries and major holidays. Although these items are not always available, you should check to see if any are. They can sell for a high price that can earn you a good amount of money when you first join.

To check which promotional items are available, use the command /promo.

    Join the EMC Forums
The EMC forums are a great place for players to congregate. On the forums, you can find out about upcoming events and updates, learn more about different features on the wiki, play forum games, and much more.

One of the best features of the forums is the ‘Empire Classifieds’ category. Here, you can buy, sell, trade, and auction items, and can also find jobs or hire other players to help you complete tedious tasks. If you are not already a member, I highly recommend you join the EMC forums.

You can also join the EMC Discord channel. Type /discord in-game or join here.

Here are only some of the things you can do on the Empire. Feel free to reach out if you need any further information. You can also refer to the New Player Guide or Empire Wiki for more.

Note: I am not sure if this thread has been created before. But, I wanted to create it to help other players. Should there be any mistakes or necessary changes, please let me know.

  3. Well done!

After this section , "If you die in the wastelands, you’ll lose your items, except for ones that have the soulbound attribute on them." You might need to add something about having some time to go back to the location to gather the items that were lost. Also, that you will be given the coordinates to that location.
